I`m going to be such a better teacher after seeing this.
Down with the pricks.
I take all my notes on my laptop - I can record the lecture as well and re-listen to it later to catch the parts I did not understand fully, and as a result, I understand subject matter so much better this way. I surf the net at points because I have my own questions about the subject that I don`t deem necessary pertinent for everyone else to consider, and once in a while I want to add an image to my notes so that I can visualize the topic better. Sometimes, I admit, the only way I can keep myself awake is if I take a glance at the headlines and engage in something momentarily interesting so I don`t completely zone out on the lecture. I`m sorry if you find this annoying, but please understand that using a laptop in class may help some people learn more efficiently. I believe that using my laptop in class is the sole reason my gpa went from a 3.2 to a 3.8.

at the risk of asking for something that`s already been posted.. English translation please?
I have a lot of sympathy for the professor.
The sequence ends with Teacher resuming his lesson.
My opinion : The teacher was teased, provoked and insulted and the smart a** "student" deserves what he got because he chose to keep on defying the teacher after a first warning. Ok, the teacher "Le Prof." lost his nerves but the a**hole definetely got what he asked for. Full stop !
Teacher calculates on the board, turns his head to look at student and says "ca va ?" which normally means "are you okay" but here it`s more like "I hope I`m not disturbing you ?".
Answer "De quoi ?" - between woot ? and WTF ? Insulting in every case
Teacher goes to student who seems to be a bit frightened (understand he has crossed the line)
Student says " y veut pas marcher" - "it won`t work"
Teacher "t`as essayé çà ?" - "did you try that ?" and slams Laptop on the table
Student could stop it here but instead "Yeah, tried that.." - "Ouais, j`ai essayé çà.."
"and that ?" says the teacher before throwing the machine to the ground etc...
After he did that, he says "Bon..., Excusez-moi.." - "Hmm, Sorry for that" and several students (the real kind) answ
if you`re refering to the bus driver from a few weeks ago, that bitch deserved it to be talked to the way she was.
Something like "ne me taze pas, mon frere" I imagine. I was never very good at French.
Crazy teachers sometimes.
WRONG! most university professors here are maintained on THEIR OWN grant money and are university mainly to do RESEARCH not to teach maggoty little undergraduates. Lecturing is usually a necessary evil. My boss has to lecture a couple of courses a year and does not get paid a penny from the university. He is a 6-foot biker as well as a scientist, so although a spotty undergrad would probably not have the guts to disrupt his lectures, he may well lose his laptop if he did, and the university would not dare to touch him as HE is the one doing the research, writing the grant proposals and bringing the money into the university. Scum like this kid are harming the future of the other students with their disruptions and should be taken outside and given a kicking (I`d be more than glad to oblige) and then expelled, and made to walk home with the broken remains of their cheap dell inserted into their colon.
anGiE_O_o, many college lectures are filmed, often at the request of the professor or institution.
You have the description wrong. "The professor owEs a student who had been taunting him all through the class with insults and redundant questions."
And kid deserved it but the teacher deserved to loose his job. He needs to take Zantac
"who filmed it?filming during class?! tsk tsk tsk"
What if it was a film class?
who filmed it?filming during class?! tsk tsk tsk
but that was too harsh... if the hard drive has gone that guy has lost all of his work :S
also he should have got the guy to STFU long before getting worked up enough to smash his laptop
also yeah, the kid was being a dick throughout the class--asking repetitive questions and just generally disrespecting the prof. i loved the applause at the end. sacrebleu!
What the teacher did was EXTREMELY childish...
Why didn`t he realize instantly (BEFORE doing the deed) that he could get fired easily for such an act?
He would have been much better off hitting the student, or shouting him directly in the face - the kind of shout with debree, spit and phlegm landing on his face :)
My personal thought about this, is that he was too afraid to actually do something serious to make the kid understand his wrong-doings, so he took the chicken way out.
This reminds me of the case seen a few years ago, where a teacher took a students phone and smashed it. Why didn`t the teacher just take the phone and start embarassing the person on the other end of the line? :P
Mayby in Canada! He couldnt do that over in the UK. The kid mayby a total tool and very deserving..but smashing up someone elses property is neither legal nor professional!
I do sympathise with the teacher though. I`m sure I`d lose it if I had to teach some of the disrespectfull demonspawn we see mooching around todays schools!
Oh and yes I know..some teachers are tools as well!
Guess the guy was being an ass for a long time.
That guy need to learn to calm down
Incoming lawsuit in 3...2...
Someone give this guy some chill pills.
I wondor what the kid was doing to deserve that?
