a book from a book is not the problem.. for instance, the comic accompaniment (whatever it was titled) to `the amazing adventures of kavalier and clay` was a wonderful addition.

this was a marketing ploy(7 copies?!), and so it`s time for me to invoke my favorite punishment.... any way that all involved can be set on fire? if possible, post video here.

That`s the funny thing, narlycharlie. With piracy nothing convertible to data in this world is valuable anymore. Then again, I begin to wonder if my porn CD is as good as having a real ass on my lap.

Hmmm, I would gladly give a £2,000,000 book full of chicken scratch to a library for children

I just hope one of those seven people would scan it for the Internet.

After the horribleness that was the seventh book, I don`t particularly care anymore.

She has tried to create a mythology that could equal Tolkien`s... at least the profit is donated to charity.

vthings- Exactly! What a horrible person, going about and using her talent to try and give money to those who need it. Tch.

That reminded me of a reality show Oprah is making for these people just to give money to charity. Look it up somewhere.

ooooo

if it went to charity then no big deal

but if it went to a seller that`s just kinda greedy

this came out 5 months ago.....and its not stupid wowibrandon, if she published this book then it wouldnt have been special. she handwrote seven of them and gave them to her friends, and it was for a good cause.....so you should be lucky that you even get to read a review, not even a review, but a synopsis of it.

Is J.K. Rowling that bloody amazing that people will shell out millions just because she only wrote seven?

she needs to get out of the wizard rut.

She`s got way too much money. So much that in her case the amount doesn`t matter and you can live whatever kind of life you want without having to lift a finger, and so can 2 generations of your descendants.

Bochamockado - So J.K.Rowling is a Rowling-ophile?

If it`s really with such good intentions in mind, why doesn`t she donate some of her multi-million pound fortune to charity instead?

Charity aside, whoever wrote the book is a Rowling-ophile. More than a little creepy.

I think that if the money from the sale of these books goes to something good, who are we to complain. Sure, that book would hardly go for 2mil before the Harry Potter saga, but at least its going to some good. Shes using her skill and reknowned name to give back to those less privilaged.

Kudos

Society hasn`t "condescended" to anything, but I will in fact insult your intelligence.

How dare she make these for charity and how dare wealthy individuals or organizations choose to spend their own money on a good cause and get something neat in return. The shame of it all.

There`s only seven of these books made, each handwritten by JK Rowling, with all the money going to charity. How is that a waste of money?

Hand written by JK herself

I also find it funny that they put in the "CAUTION:SPOILERS WITHIN" tag. As if anyone but the 7 people are going to be reading the books anyway.

And wow, some people have too much money.

All of the money was donated to a charity called the childrens voice campaign. Amazon bought the book (which is why the review is on their site) and will be sending it to different childrens librarys to be read to the kids who go there.
