Hey PandaLoMein,

Maybe you should study American history vis-a-vis the Irish before pontificating. I`ll help you out a little. Check out a book titled "How the Irish became White." My paternal and maternal grandparents emigrated to America from Ireland at the end of the 19th century. They were not "white," they were "Irish" (As in "No Irish Need Apply"). My father and mother grew up in the 1930s and 40`s, and they were "white." What changed during those years? Irony is often lost on those who see it from a vantage point of ignorance. Your ignorance is what makes my illustration of irony horrible. Your ignorance is what makes me disgusting. How ironic..

^^ Not true, yankee. According to the WHO, Ireland ranks number 2 in the world in alcohol consumption per capita (just behind Luxembourg). The U.S. comes in at number 40, if you`re interested. Full article here

I thought I was the only Irish guy who didn`t drink. That`s a load of crap anyway. There are a lot of other nationalities who drink as much and more than the Irish.

Well here`s an early Happy Birthday to you, Nightshifter, you big alcoholic! :P

Out of curiosity, am I the only Irish guy on IAB who doesn`t drink alcohol?

With a birthday like St.Patrick`s day... it`s no wonder I`m an alcoholic. :D

Hey I`m Irish. I don`t think this is bad. I like to drink and I like potatoes and most of us do.

Hey Dougsimpson,

Isn`t your assumption that "The Irish" are a race, rather than a nationality or perhaps an ethnicity actually racist?

Your horrible attempt at irony definitely is, though! No one said ANYTHING about MLK day on this post, except you. There are a hundred ways for an intelligent person to say why they find these cards offensive without going out of their way to insult a totally uninvolved group. You`re disgusting.

Racism is alive and well. Well, just certain forms are. I would propose that we turn Martin Luther King Day into a drinking fest as well. Instead of Guinness, we`ll drink Colt 45 Malt Liqour. Instead of the wearing of of the green, we`ll all do our hair in cornrolls. And if you ain`t got no cornrolls, we won`t pinch you, we`ll just pop a cap in yo ass!
