US TV show pits family members against each other with uncomfortable questions. The ending of this is awesomely sad.

who the hell can stand watching this? it shouldnt be a show, it should be counseling. the fact that america finds this ENTERTAINING disgusts me. this is peoples` lives, not a sitcom.

and even if it IS staged, you know stuff like this has happened before and its just terrible.

there is an artile in one of the weekly rags, US or People or some such, and this chick says that her marriage is fine, they worked through it. A lot happens behind the scenes that we don`t get to see. You have already answered the questions while being hooked up to a lie detector so they are not a shock. It`s just depends on how the detector read your replies. I hate this show.

What gets me, it the audience cheering along, and booing when thet woman didn`t want that question answered. That was so disgusting, using a terrible and very personal situation like that for their cheap entertainment.

What is with the people here? She is not a dumb bitch, maybe she is not the best person but at least she is trying and willing to be honest. Just because you people do not have the urge to tell the truth, does not mean you need to degrade those who do.

and this show is awesome. People are forgetting they have the option to do this. This type of TV is bringing American shows back where they once where (I miss press your your luck and all the other game shows).
And the commercial for this show is awesome
Host: Are you the best WR in the league?
Chad Johnson: Of course
Host: Better than T.O.
CJ: Y.E.S.
Host: If you can throw it to yourself would you?
CJ: Who says I cant?
Host: Are you smarter than Einstein?
CJ: ARE YOU SERIOUS?!? E= Ocho Cinco

"Yeah, that`s good. Ruin your family for a measly 200 grand."
Have you ever had a measly 200 grand? I`d ruin my family for that. They`ll get over it.

"I love my country. I really do. However, our entertainment and our distractions make me sick. People lap up this crap, and it makes Americans look bad, with good reason. Walking around with our 500 dollar Ipods and Iphones that we expected from loved ones for Christmas, watching this kind of trash, drinking diet soda and wearing clothes that we paid 5x too much for because it had someone`s name on the label... "

Yes and then the rich people get the money, hire more workers and the business cycle continues. I love Capitalism. And I rather buy the brand name that I am paying too much for rather than the generic brand that obviously copied the name brand.

Skipped pages 2-6 :x. Anyways, shows like these are so obviously staged--how can there be an objective answer to "do you think you`re a good person?". Also, it`s possible to train oneself to get around lie detectors when not telling the truth, and if they did ask questions beforehand, why would anyone be stupid enough to tell the truth to questions they know they will have to face...

Yay, now I can add hippy to the list of things I`ve been called. The list includes fascist, communist, nazi, liberal fag, anarchist, homophobe, racist, wetback, etc. How I`ve managed to be called so many things from complete opposite sides of the spectrum eludes me.

whoever makes up these questions...they seriously need to lay off. it`s not funny.

then again, this is awesome. because this stupid, stupid girl who`s married to what looks like a pretty good guy has been cheating on him and thinks she`s with the wrong person, yet she stays with that wrong person. and in this case...well, however bad it sounds, i think it turned out to be a good thing overall.

This is why I hate most American television shows. We WANT to see people lose, get hurt, get insulted, and make ourselves feel better. Prime example being Jerry Springer, which is still going strong.

I feel bad for the guy she`s married to. He obviously deserves better than that bottle blonde can give him. I hope they had a nice divorce after that.

Do I feel bad that she lost? No. After the crap that was revealed, she deserved to lose it all. Now she has nothing; not even her husband`s trust.

The husband was very nervous, you saw him tapping his feet on the floor, right? I think he said "no" because he whether trusted in his wife or suspected she had cheated on him and wanted to hear it from her. Or it could be because of the money...
He`s pretty handsome, didn`t deserve that bitch.
How could she think herself as a good person? I haven`t cheated on my boyfriend, stolen anything etc. and I still don`t keep myself a good person.

Why do people applaud when they tell the truth? They should just not answer the questions. I don`t applaud people for doing what is right and I don`t believe in the statement "at least they told the truth" that is what your supposed to do. So no I would not applaud someone who admits to having an affair just because a stupid show says they told the truth. This show is dumb. Also lie detection measures emotional responses not lies. That is why they are inadmisable in court.

Yeah, she`s a dumb bitch, but whatever.

The poetic justice of it all is she tries getting back together with her ex after her husband tosses her out on her bony bleach blond ass, and he wants nothing to do with her because she`s out 200,000 dollars.

The American bashing is really upsetting. I love how I`ve seen that this show is popular in the UK and in Australia too, but no one made a point to start bashing those countries too.

*shrugs* Everyone needs to get off their high horses. The human race as a whole is evil. Accept it.

sure its sick but they gave her the choice didnt they? they stretched that fact as much as they could as to make it socially acceptable. her dignity and respect or a sh*t load of money, iv never watched the show but i can already guess they advertised it with the words "the ultimate temptation" at least once. its an original idea but it still set the intensity in the room and its television like that that producers seem to think we`ll watch. personally i prefer slow motion a`splosions, ridiculously loud `n` lucky gun fights and highly inprobable death scenes.

also lie detectors run on stress levels, lie or truth could not have been definite answer.
my guess is they had a dozen psychics with headsets in the next room throwing darts at scattered pieces of paper taped to the wall reading "truth" or "lie"

Even if they are using a lie detector, she gives in waaay too easily to getting the final question wrong. She freely admits to sleeping outside of her marriage, but when she has to rate her own false worth, she doesn`t believe her own words? COME ON! Looks like diet-psychiatry with a moral message for the masses. Whole thing is far too sacarin for my tastes. Eeew!

I like this show because it is the only time you can actually get people in America to tell the truth. Hell, I am sure it would be the only way to get the world to tell the truth! Wave a stack of money under their noses and they will do tricks just like a dog.

Poor guy, I felt bad for him. After that question, I would have lost it. If you think you should be married to someone else, then by god you shouldn`t be married at the moment! I mean, if I, after a few years of marriage, said "I`m unhappy..." I would try to work it out or get the f--- out. I mean, it makes no sense to stay in a place that makes you unhappy! I feel bad that the guy had to find out by waving money under his wife`s nose...

She`s a ho, fo sho!

This show is an abomination of what reality shows have become. Obviously, they make a lot of people pass their lie detector test, and they prod VERY deeply to find all the sh*t you have done in your life. And they pick the worst of the worst to be contestants, because "It makes good TV". Then they pick the 21 questions that would ruin the life you have finally managed to get back on track. This show would be good if the questions weren`t designed to ruin your life. They could even pick a normal person with nothing bad to hide, and the final question would be something along the lines of "Have you ever molested your 2YO daughter"...the guy would say no, but the lie detector, which is not 100% accurate, says you did...so guess what? no $500K for you, you fail, and you`re a convicted pedophile now...hahaha!!!

To hell with Fox.

Bekll - Being entertained by other people`s misfortunes isn`t entertainment, it`s sick. That`s probably some derivation of sadism, y`know, getting off on causing people pain.

Honesty is great. Breaking someone`s heart on national television for money while an audience cheers this behavior on? Sick. It reminds me of the gladiators of Roman times. Murder is bad and all, unless it`s a slave. Same kind of mob mentality. That you would cheer it on as entertainment is a rather terrifying factoid.

Issues like those are best kept behind closed doors, not laid bare for the public eye.

Besides, I`m honestly more shocked at how into it the audience was than the lies the wife told. Sure, what she did was horrible, deceitful, and utterly despicable. But the fact that the audience was cheering that behavior on by booing the sister/friend for trying to spare the husband`s feelings, and cheering when she decided to go on, and ZOMG!Gasping for effect after another secret was revealed? S.I.C.K.

Female 1,984
So WHY WOULD ANYONE CARE that some marriage ended when ALL of them are stupid and selfish enough to go on there in the first place? Any of you who say you feel guilty for watching this show need a re-check. Why feel bad about THESE kinds of people who have dirty secrets and then `risk` telling them on national television? Not everyone deserves sympathy. Entertainment about stupid people is not sick - it`s just entertainment.

Female 1,984
"I have to wonder who would find something like this entertaining? Who actually gets off to some poor husband not only learning that his wife wants to be with her ex, but that she`s also cheated on him? WTF? Society scares the hell out of me sometimes. Whether this show is real or staged, it`s damn sick.

HAHAHA! They`re gonna break his heart on national tv! Oh noes! Let`s boo the sister (or whoever that one girl was) because she wants to spare the guy`s feelings!

S.I.C.K."

Oooh, me me me me me! *waves hands wildly*

They`re just being honest. Don`t like honest people? Then don`t watch it. Simple as that. I prefer people being honest - either that or stay quiet IF you`re not hurting anyone. (Deceiving hurts, so staying quiet on that note is immoral.) If these people are greedy and pathetic enough that they spill their secrets on a show then why care? They have to be paid to be honest it seems.

Get down off your high horse and get a damn life. Seriously, what kind of hypocrite blames America for crappy reality TV when Europe started the whole movement and continues to crank out more shows. Nothing like blaming someone else for a problem that you have just as much of a stake in. Congratulations on being so insightful and working to stamp out hypocrisy!

And Agentk120, let me know when you leave so I know when this country rids itself of one more self-loathing hippie. Thanks. But unfortunately that will probably never happen because like most people who belittle their country, you`ll be too lazy to get up off your a** and start the process to change citizenship, continuing to b*tch as you take advantage of US tax dollars.

It`s good that the husband got the truth, but the poor thing had to discover it with a massive audience. It`s sick that a show would be made purely for something like this, and that people actually enjoy watching things like marriages ending this way and such.

Personally, I dont think this show is legit. Like Jerry Springer, two years down the road after it`s lost ratings we`ll find out it was staged. How`d they find her Ex-boyfriend? She obviously didn`t want him there so she wouldn`t have told them willingly "Yeah, his name is... and he lives at... and here`s his phone number..."
Besides, who would WILLINGLY go on a show that would possibly destroy their marital relationship for a few bucks, while simultaneously humiliating themselves in front of the world.
Besides, her reaction looked fake.

What is the price of dignity? A shot at winning $100K to $200K in her case. She is a good person, she`s just expensive. Actually not... "Each man has his price Bob, and yours was pretty low." -Roger Waters, from Amused to Death

Sick freaking show! Reminds me of the game-show in The Running Man (1987) or perhaps public torture.

I have to wonder who would find something like this entertaining? Who actually gets off to some poor husband not only learning that his wife wants to be with her ex, but that she`s also cheated on him? WTF? Society scares the hell out of me sometimes. Whether this show is real or staged, it`s damn sick.

HAHAHA! They`re gonna break his heart on national tv! Oh noes! Let`s boo the sister (or whoever that one girl was) because she wants to spare the guy`s feelings!

What makes it worse is after ruining her marriage, she throws all that money out the window on the easy question. "Do you think you are a good person?" How she could muster the balls to say "Yes," is beyond me.

Never seen that show. Seems likely to be scripted though.

Surprisingly, there were no commercial breaks or they were edited out. Makes me think of viral advertising.

How CAN you know if she SHOULD be married to him ? I mean she can`t look into the future, maybe he`s a basterd 2 years later. You can`t possibly know. Also the woman probably didn`t deserve him to start with.

Is this show done with a truth detector by the way?

Link: Moment of Truth: Ends Marriage [Rate Link] - US TV show pits family members against each other with uncomfortable questions. The ending of this is awesomely sad.
