its not fake its just been heavily and unevenly edited to fit the song... if ur gonna have 4 minutes of video would you rather it of sweeping landscapes or gas stations and diners? and as for the hair thing, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHfEMM2O3... . something along the lines of that...

I hate to say it, but this is truly fake. Unless he cut out lots of video, this is fakeness. No car can go coast to coast without gas. Only electric cars don`t need gas, and a `66 Chrysler is not electric. He hardly stopped for food. And how come he can go from New Mexico To New York in a minute while Cali to New Mexico is 3? It was even three days!

I love how I watched that whole video and the whole time I couldn`t stop thinking "How can he leave his top down all night in the parking lot and not worry about carjacking?"

That was a really cool video. The one thing I kept wondering was, gosh did he only eat when he`d stop for the night?! Or does he have some crazy "no food and no drinks in the car" rule?

I really want to go on a road trip now!

Fake..his hair never moved..it would be blowing like crazy in that car

And I`d rather take a road trip then watch someone taking one..

Everyone is saying things like "something is missing" and "it seems they missed something" and i`ll tell you what it is.. its like he totally passed up drving through appilachia.. which imo is better than the rockies 100x.

That was neat-o.

Pabasa: I counted six days but I didn`t count carefully so take that as a general estimate instead of fact. I did a roadtrip from New York to New Mexico in five days, and it was a LOT of driving. Also, video cameras can be made so small now that it probably didn`t look enough like a camera to be stolen.

Cool, I thought that was very nicely done. :D

I also loved how they reached their destination in front of an "END" sign. That was creative!

as far as a trip from LA to NY it depends on how fast/how much you`re willing to drive in a day. Potentially you could make it there in only 3 days without wearing yourself out.

When driving through states, some landscapes/terrains do change drastically as you zoom by, though!

Not all that cool. I`m pretty sure this wasn`t one constant video. If it was he should have included subtitles to tell the viewer where he was or raised his hand every time he crossed a a state line.

Dunno. Just not all that impressed.

i agree with lazyme 100%. what bothered me most was that he left the top down over night one too many times, drove through the snowy area near the beginning with the top down and no jacket, and when it "rained" the camera got a couple of drops, but then they disappeared (like it was an effect done on the computer).

original idea, but don`t try to pass it off as real.

"And On average how many days would it take to drive from LA to NY? I forgot to count the days in the video."

I believe the record is around 29 hours.

Four days is about average, unless you have the wife and kids in the car. If so, add 3 weeks. ;-)

Interesting idea, but I have been more entertained with watching water evaporate. Especially when the T-Rex came and it jiggled like a boobie.

I agree with LazyME484, the stop lights at the end of the movie were way too long for the entire movie to have been to scale. I`d say he did cut out the parts where he picked his nose as someone mentioned earlier.

No. Its not real. I`m calling bs. These are clips from a time lapse video of someone going from coast to coast, not the video itself. If 4 minutes is 4 days (which is a generous estimate cause you can clearly see the guy get out, stop, car wash, etc..), then 1 second in the video is 24 minutes for the guy, and well... it took the guy about that long to lower his roof or drive past a skyscraper or hell... open his door. The fact is that this is an artistic creation that is in no way accurate. I`m not saying it wasn`t cool, because it was...

for us...the drive was 5-7 days, and then we drove back home.....so pretty much the whole trip was our vacation, we didnt have an exact location where we were heading to..but it was AMAZING, especially when you drive through the red wood forest
and considering im 16, not many teens appreciate the fine outdoors....i love it

I see what you guys are saying. There does feel as though something is missing. There isn`t a really good connection between each landscape. No real transition that helps you to blend from one terrain into another.

Did anyone notice the sign at the end of the video that said "end"? Best part of the vid imho.

What a wimp; it took him three days to reach New Mexico from LA?
0
Reply
Male 1,371
I`ve seen this before and when the video`s only half over he`s only in New Mexico, which is only about a third of the way (probably even less), to New York

he must just skip or fastforward really fast through the 600 miles or so from there to the midwest because it`s pretty boring anyway.

I can`t believe he made it all that way and didn`t pick his nose once.

I wish the time lapse speed had been constant, instead of "sort of fast" interspersed with long cuts. But it was very cool.

Very cool vid. I like how when the car wouldn`t start, the owner was like `here let me try`. like he was gonna be able to turn the key harder or somethin

How come the jerkoff that was picked up in New Mexico didn`t drive for the first 2 days after having been picked up? Lazy ass!!

It felt like it was missing too much, the changes in landscape were too drastic and sudden, even for a time lapse. It was definitely cool, but it seemed like there were some missing key points. And yes, I do know that the majority of cameras do not have enough batteries to last 4 days.

Wow, I was totally mesmerized by the clip. Quite awesome I must say. I like seeing the changing landscapes (though not quite varied - beach, desert, city, hills being rotated).

If it was real I wonder how did he guarantee his camera`s safety in a convertible?

And On average how many days would it take to drive from LA to NY? I forgot to count the days in the video.
