Unfortunately this is a common problem with America. I live in the south and frequently get into arguments with my friends about gay rights, now I don`t like what gays do behind closed doors, but hey that`s none of my business. These crazy ass Republicans are so close minded it`s ridiculous; they`re just a little but more insane than the Democrats. It`s ridiculous rants like these and continuous lying from officials that turned me into a libertarian. I don`t give a sh*t what gays do as long as it doesn`t hurt me or anyone else, and I don`t have to see their relations *shudders*.

Davymid, God hates NOONE! I am a Christian and I believe that what this woman spouts is wrong. God clearly tells us to love one another and to look at one another through His eyes. He did not say love ONLY the ones you think are correct or right in their lives, according to our society or your own personal opinions. It`s disgusting to hear anyone badmouth or try to degrade anyone else.

Wrong. If I recall correctly, the bible says no to sodomy (how it`s defined there I`m not entirely sure). Basically, it says homosexuality is Ok, but homosexual RELATIONS are bad.

As I said before, I *do* however have issues with people who say things like `you`re going to hell` and `God hates you`. How do you know? You`re not God. You won`t be deciding if anyone is going to heaven or hell. And hey, isn`t it in the bible that God loves everyone?

She didn`t say people are going to hell or anything, so I have no issues with her. The wiser folk already know what`s happening with society.

    Wikipedia says:
"Leviticus 18 is a chapter of the Biblical book of Leviticus. It narrates part of the instructions given to Moses by God on Mount Sinai. The chapter deals with a number of sexual activities considered `unclean` or `abominable`."

Leviticus 18:22 - "You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination."

Of course people may interpret that specific phrase in different ways, but what do YOU think it says?
It only really can say one thing in my opinion, but Christianity is bull crap from what my conscience mind tells me, so I refuse to present any further arguments.

This is obviously put together as a political advertisement or w/e. Look this are election times everything is propaganda and SPECIALLY controversial stuff like that, they should all be throughly and analytically inspected. IMO Its put together so people feel angry at that person and who ever did this is as low as that "lawmaker" if she actually DID say it, which she obviously did not. FAKE!!! had to say it.

BTW: If you actually approve this made up but still crappy piece of propaganda u can go try to stop a buller with ur teeth.

Sometimes I wonder if Pabasa was replaced by a radical Islamist who quoted Koran endlessly and planted viruses on this site... Maybe it would actually be better? Hmmm!

On a more serioius note, I don`t like the whole "gay pride" thing. I don`t recall any heterosexuals parading around saying how proud they are to be the way they are. I understand it may have been necessary when the gay community was pushing for acceptance. I just hope they have sense to throttle back as people become more accepting.

Just thought it`s worth a quick mention for those talking about Chistianity: the Bible was written and translated by people. People make mistakes, misinterpret, or intentionally change meaning.

Do an experiment sometime: sit in a room with a few friends. Whisper at least a couple sentences to the person next to you and ask them to pass it to the person next to them. Then ask the last person what he or she was told.

Just think about whether it`s an exact representation of God`s way of thinking that you`re quoting when you quote the Bible.

Davymid is right, in a way, except that god doesn`t hate anyone. Most of the rest of you are crazy, but Ive said this before so no surprise.

Now, as for the `video` itself, well... She`s neither wrong nor right, she takes the fine line between being (abusive and wrong) and being (rude and right). But that is no reason to go to these extremes. You are all overreacting, and so are the people on the site this links to. What was the point of those retarded pics of people holding paper anyway?

"If more then 3/4 of the population cant even figure out how to live their own life why should we be telling others how to live theirs?!"
    ---------------------
I effing hate random, unsupported, unstudied, unscientific, biased theories which, in common tongue, would be called "statistics". Not all statistics are bad though, because quite a few are supported by scientific research and experiments.

I would call the "bad ones" the ones made up by people to falsely support THEIR view points over other people`s view points, which in itself is intolerance to the third degree.
You contradicted yourself in the end of your post by saying you are for toleration of every human being.

There is SOMEONE out there SOMEWHERE that will disagree with your "statistic", so would you get angry at them for disagreeing on their own logical interpretations of what you said?

Haha Pabasa, didn`t know that. Well at least you don`t seem to fit the "radical" part. :)

I learned something new today. Appearently, if you look for "Koran" on wiki, it takes you straight to "Qur`an". Never seen it spelled that way before.

Is there an Islam newsletter I can subscribe to, so I can stay abreast with current spelling?

Just curious: since we have Christians presenting their point of view, what does Qur`an say on the gay issue? Iranian President`s remarks come to mind....

People are going twist your words as they do with the bible, and they are going to make their own conclusions out of what you said. You EXPLICITLY stated in your post that you HATE people with certain characteristics, even "stupid" people.
How do YOU decide if a person is "stupid", and what makes that a fact? What scientific tests, studies, and research say that your OPINION is a fact? None.

You`re aiming for toleration of EVERY HUMAN BEING. You`re intolerant of some people yourself, what does that boil down to? Hypocracy.

Qur`an is the correct spelling. The arabic equivalent uses the letters Q-R-A`-N. For some obscure reason the western world adopted the Koran spelling. Too late to change the world with that, so, I`ll just leave it up.

And with regards to gays in Islam, I cannot quote the specific verse, but one that I remember is (in my own words, mind) - No man shall sleep under the same blanket with another man and no woman shall sleep under the same blanket with another woman. There`s also, of course, the story of Lot and Sodom.

My own stance on being gay? I beleive that no human is perfect and free from doing sins, apart from the Prophets God have chosen. So I try my best to be a good Muslim in other matters. I`m putting all my sins in the gay bank.

It may not be what God wants me to do, but eh.

    To Pabasa:
You`re putting yourself under extraordinary amounts of pressure to do what`s socially considered as acceptable or "right", by believing in any god. You`re even being ridiculed and declined in society by some people for not believing in a certain god!

The only "god" in some people`s fictional minds is the one explicitly related to Christianity. You know, the one that teaches acceptance and forgiveness to all mankind? Well, that`s the same god who tells you that you can`t believe in what you want to believe in, or "other gods". He supposedly tells you, in the words of the inaccurate bible, that Christians should look down upon and scorn anyone who doesn`t believe in their own religion.
There`s some real conflicting arguments going on there. The catch is, that`s all just worry over a belief that is really founded on no evidence/facts like most if not all religions are.

    ...That`s quite disturbing.
I take no stance towards homosexuals; whatever someone does, it`s his/her own business.

If you lined up 50 homosexuals and 50 straights together and asked someone to point out which was which, I guarantee you that he/she would have to guess.

In America, we have a separation of church and state (theoretically). Regardless of the personal opinion she`s entitled to, she should remain professional and not arbitrarily discriminate.

Don`t jump to conclusions though, not believing in a god doesn`t solve anything. You may not live in America but still did you know you cannot testify in a court of law in America if you are an Atheist?

It is required by LAW that you swear to this non existing "god" before testifying in such courts. No, that sound a little off...it`s not just "such" courts, it`s EVERY freaking court in America. Even the president has to be sworn in by the bible.

Our founding fathers (if I may coin the term), feared organized religion. Christianity has become an organized religion, a HIGHLY organized religion. It`s extremely frightening if you think how much power this religion has in America. It controls the president, for satan`s sakes.

Davymid, what makes you say God hates gays? Why is homosexuality considered such a "special" sin? Yes, some people believe that homosexuality is a sin, but so is stealing, killing, lying, being lazy, doing damage to the environment, etc. If God hates gay people, then He must hate the rest of us too, because we`ve all sinned. God is love... and while we disappoint Him with all of our shenanigans, He still loves us and wants the best for us.
Hate the sin, love the sinner. That`s what He calls us to do.

The Iranian president is only following what he beleives is right. He (and his religious advisors) read the Qur`an and Hadith (words of the Prophet Muhammad) and make their own decisions and laws based on their interpretation of the verses, because heck, neither the Qur`an and Hadith is particularly clear in what God and His prophets really intended, apart from certain matters (laws of marriage for example is very clearly defined). For everything else that is vague, it`s all up to interpretation.

That`s why you don`t see the same laws for homosexuality for example in the Muslim countries, but the laws of marriage should be the same (LAWS of marriage, mind, not culture - as in choice of who you can and cannot marry are the laws of marriage).

Me, I don`t see gays as punishable by death. The only death penalty is for rape and extramarital sex, as in both cases if a child is produced he or she will not have a proper family to grow up in. Gays can`t breed, we`re not that bad.

sabreduelist: "In America, we have a separation of church and state (theoretically)."

You`re correct in adding the "theoretically" to the end of that. There is NO such thing as separation of church and state today...the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES is sworn in by the bible. I`m not sure about congressional members by state, but I wouldn`t doubt that mind warping Christian beliefs are pushed upon them in the way of them swearing upon the bible.

Separation of church and state? Maybe, but unlikely.

Separation of church and Government? No. No. No.

If "gay" people have the right to express their feelings and opinions then "anti-gay" people have the right to express their views and opinions as well. If you think this "gay bashing" is so harsh then why don`t you pack your bags and move to the middle-east where homosexuals get the death penalty.

I am not religious nor am I an atheist but I do believe that life was created to reproduce and keep on living. It doesn`t take a genius to realize that if the whole world became homosexual then we would be done in be the end of the century . We are intelligent beings capable of intelligent thought and are able to choose what they do. If you sleep with another man you made that choice and there is consequences to everything we do in life and you just need to accept that. So don`t get mad at the "gay basher" they are not going anywhere just stop whining and accept the life you chose weather you think it`s right or not.

... I`m just going to point out a few things.

In the Biblical era, it was common for men to take other men and young boys as lovers. This practice was not dubbed `obscene`. Yes, it was after Jesus came around

The Bible has been interpreted over thousands of years and changed many times.

I live in Oklahoma (recently moved here from California) and I HATE IT HERE. This woman needs to be severely reprimanded for her hateful words.

God is all-loving. That is what the Bible claims, right? God doesn`t hate specific people for things. He asks for them to beg forgiveness, but even Churches preach that he does not see love as a sin.

If God hated gays, homosexuality would not exist.

    Have a nice night.

I thought this was America, the land of free speech. You may not like what she has to say, and maybe her words hurt, but she has the right to be against homosexuality just like homosexuals have the right to be outspoken about their lifestyles. Personally, I don`t like or agree with either of them, but I`m not going to try and shut anyone up, and of course she doesn`t represent me, I don`t live in Oklahoma. If one of my state`s representatives said something, then I would have the right to send an email, but whereas I don`t live in Oklahoma, it really isn`t any of my business what she`s saying over there.

pimptastical: no, I`m not putting myself under any pressure. I fully beleive that there is a God, and no one saying anything is ever going to take that belief away from me. Neither am I going to reprimand anyone for *not* beleiving in a God. That is their own decision. I don`t beleive in God just because society tells me to; I beleive him because of all sorts of reasons. No need for me to say them, someone might think I`m trying to prove something.

Besides, one part of being a Muslim is beleif in Fate and Destiny. If God decides so-and-so not to beleive in God throughout his or her life, then so be it. But does he or she go to heaven or hell? only God can decide that. I don`t have the power to decide anyone`s fate.

Oh, and just to let you know the reasons I`m posting Islamic views on this matter is to hopefully educate everyone on the world outside the western world, and hopefully show and explain what`s going on in the Islamic parts of the world.

If you`ve read all the posts and discussion in the couple of pages back, I would like to thank you for your attention and interest in this topic. Your expanding knowledge can only be beneficial to the development of society.

And I`m reiterating my statements. I don`t care if she wants to rant about gays taking over the country - she has all the right to do so. But it would be good for people to highlight the factual errors (note, factual - e.g. being gay doesn`t mean I have a shorter life span) to her, so that she can give a more respectful and beleivable commentary.

Remember, most laws and sins taken from the Old Testament are null and void after Jesus came. The Old Testament is to be used more as a prologue, rather than part of the book. It is the New Testament that Christians follow. As for me, I am a modern deist. I believe in God. I believe that no one knows the mind of God and therefore has no right to assume who is going to Hell and who isn`t. Furthermore, the `deadly` sins as we know them were devised by Dante and adopted later by the Catholic church (who keeps adding to them).

"how dare you...god does not hate gays... if god would hate anyone it would be you davymid, for advocating for satan"

"Where does it say that God hates gays? Because it never says that in my Bible."

Maybe you should read your bible more carefully then. It`s in Leviticus 20:13

"If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads." (NIV)

If God instructing his followers to "put to death" any man who has had gay intercourse (and the blood will be on their own heads! How dare they choose to be gay!) doesn`t qualify as hate-speech, I don`t know what does.

Cefka, a quick read through the Old Testament reveals the required killing of people who don`t listen to priests, witches, homosexuals, fortunetellers, kids who disrespect or hit their parents, adulterers, fornicators, followers of other religions and non-believers, false prophets, women who aren`t virgins when wed, blasphemers, people who work on the Sabbath, and the children of any of the people killed for any of the reasons above.

And how the hell could God be against homosexuality but not gays? That`s like saying God is against murder but not serial killers.

Foiledocean, Islam also advocates the killing of non-believers, specifically when in defense or retaliation. In the eyes of most of the Middle East, they`re perfectly justified.

Outside of the bible there is no account of a guy named mosses or even him leading through the dessert.

Just beacause jesus wasn`t found at his tomb that doesn`t mean he reanimated. Some people say the abcence of evidence doesn`t mean there`s evidance of abcense. Sorry, but in the world of science and logic that term is illegle.

and out of all the messiahs there were at this time notice how this one stands out

what do you expect to see for proof of Moises, IRS audit form?

It says in the Bible "He rose in heavenly body" which means his spirit was resuscitated not necessarily his body.

once again hyperbole, and it states in the bible "even from his mothers womb he will be filled with the holy spirit"

Marriage is something that came from religion. I think they should get rid of the term marriage from government completely and instill something else. And its not a free country. Why cant I drive w/o a seat belt? Why cant pedophiles sleep with children if the child agrees to it?

Ze pilot, this woman willingly admitted she said all this AND is refusing to apologize. it happened DAYS ago. It is not fake. This woman is a disgustingly accurate example of the bigots that are destroying this country in the first place. The gays and the terrorists and the muslims are not destroying American culture, Hate speech like this is.
Christians love to quote Leviticus whey they claim homosexuality is a sin. But what they forget is that later in the Bible, god told Peter that the gentiles (non-jews) who accept christ do NOT need to follow the ancient hebrew laws (leviticus), but are to adhere to their own culture`s moral laws AND accept christ. Since the gentiles were mostly ROMANS who accepted homosexuality, and almost ALL christians are gentiles, these hate mongers are also hypocrites. Rome existed FAR longer than we have so far, as did the Greek society. And they accepted and even deified some examples of homosexuality...

No Prime. The spread of Christianity is one of the reasons rome fell. Christianity has a very guilt ridden and victimization psychology. It degraded the pride the romans had for their own civilization AND the fight between christianity and the pagans caused riots and destabilization of the government, allowing foreign powers to invade. Rome fell for many reasons, but a "lack of morals" had NOTHING to do with it.

lack of morals had nothing to do with it? there was a wide amount of retarded people due to inbreeding. Nero and Caligula wasted tax dollars on parties, violence was through the street, morals was a reason for the fall of Rome

Morals at the time of rome were the same morals rome was founded on. By your argument, it should have fallen before it even became a city, yet based on it`s morals, it existed for nearly 2000 years and conquered half the known world BEFORE Christianity INFECTED it with its low self esteem.

Canaanites were a different culture. Most biblical scholars agree that the reasons the Hebrews such strict laws was to set them apart from their canaanite neighbors. The Canaanites existed totally independently of Hebrew culture and were actualy in Israel when the Jews showed up after thier Exodus.

Rome did not fall until nearly 300 years AFTER Nero started persecuting christians, who were violent trouble makers. Their self righteous, We`re Righ You`re Wrong, arrogant attitude led them to cause riots and take over the government. ROME FELL MORE THAN 100 YEARS AFTER IT BECAME A CHRISTIAN SOCIETY. so how can you say it fell because of its bad morals? Further more, the fall of rome set the entire world back nearly 1,000 years artisticly, technologically, philosophically, and scientificly. This world was in the WORST condistion it ever was WHILE THE CHURCH WAS IN POWER - The Dark Ages.

The dark ages was a dark period for the church as well. It wasn`t until the Council of Trent that it was fixed. And Rome`s moral problems were evident towards the end when the amount of mentally handicap grew, the amount of prostitutes made children out of wedlock be born in the streets, gladiator fights wasted possible soldier, etc. At the end that along with everything else came together

Gladiators were games that were abolished long before the Fall of Rome, mentally handicapped did NOT grow in population, mostly because the Romans actualy looked DOWN on incest. It also takes GENRATIONS of inbreeding to actualy produce retardation. Only a few notable emperors actualy practiced it in order to produce heirs, much like every monarchy in europe did...UNDER COMMAND OF THE CHURCH. During the dark ages the Catholic church had complete control over just about EVERYTHING. It was also during the dark ages that homosexuality became demonized. The monks and priests were not allowed to marry but WERE allowed to have relations with each other. This lead to favoratism and some bishops didn`t like being passed up for promotions because of it. A group of them finally talked the pope into outlawing sodomy BUT he had to give a legal reason. His reason? "Anal sex causes earthquakes."

"Those morals and values that kept together the Roman legions and thus the empire could not be maintained towards the end of the empire. Crimes of violence made the streets of the larger cities unsafe. Even during PaxRomana there were 32,000 prostitutes in Rome. Emperors like Nero and Caligula became infamous for wasting money on lavish parties where guests ate and drank until they became ill. The most popular amusement was watching the gladiatorial combats in the Colosseum. These were attended by the poor, the rich, and frequently the emperor himself. As gladiators fought, vicious cries and curses were heard from the audience. One contest after another was staged in the course of a single day. Should the ground become too soaked with blood, it was covered over with a fresh layer of sand and the performance went on." -http://killeenroos.com/1/Romefall.htm

And your acting like incest in royalty occured due to the Catholic Church. Look at Russia and all their emperors that were Orthodox Christians not Catholics.

The dark ages lasted 500 years not 1000
And I searched "anal sex causes earthquakes" and I only found results from a Israeli leader.

And in another page you said that Hebrew law was overwritten. There are passages in the new testament that go against homosexuality.

Prime. once again you fail to get your time line straight. First of all, Gladiators were SLAVES and thus not elligible for the Roman army. Tere also only a few score of them compared to the nearly 2 million people that actually lived in the CITY of Rome itself. Rome fell in 476AD. Caligula died more than 400 years before that in 41AD, as did Nero in 68AD. Prostitution was legal, taxed like hell and was government regulated. Your example still does not give your argument any weight. When Rome BEGAN to fall, it was a Christian run society. Rome`s decadence did not mean it was immoral, it simply had different morals than the Christians...who screwed it up for everyone else.

Cefka, How can God say homosexuality an abomination against himself and nature if he allows other creatures to do it? I don`t see him killing off penguins, or flamingos, or orobo monkeys or any of the other 1,500 different types of animals that we have documented evidence of homosexuality in. You have to remember that the whole "thou shalt not lie with man as with woman" thing was written as a way to set the Hebrews apart from their neighbors. In the same book, he condemns adultery BUT condones prostitution, slavery, and killing disobedient 5 year olds by throwing rocks at them. He also lays down a strict code of what you can and can`t eat which he later REVOKED in the new testament the same time he told Peter, the first Pope, that the Gentiles don`t have to follow Hebrew Law. One of the first things Peter did when he got to Rome was to bless the union of a gay couple...he married a pair of Roman soldiers who were later killed for converting to Christianity and then were made

I did not say the dark ages lasted 1000 years. I said the fall of Rome SET US BACK 1000 years. After Rome fell, it took 1000 years for us to become anywhere near as advanced as they were. We STILL are learning just how advanced they were. The dark ages ended because we had a Renaissance, which was a REBIRTH of classical Greek and Roman thought. Your Council of trent occured in the MIDDLE of the renaissance AFTER the protestant reformation. And yes, the pope`s excuse was that anal sex causes earthquakes, a sentiment recently rehatched by that lunatic jew who is fighting the gay rights movement in israel.

Sodom and Gamorrah were destroyed because of their lack of hospitality and respect for other man. The fact that they wanted to have sex with the angels does not mean that they were gay, it meant they were RAPISTS. There are also more than 30 kinds of sexual immorality listed BEFOR homosexuality in Leviticus, there is no way to tell what the Jude texts meant. Most of the new testament mentions can easily be disregarded also as poor translations of the original Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic texts which were all edited multiple times before anything close to what you can read as a verse was written.
Cefka, there is plenty of historical evidence regarding Peter`s actual preaching in Rome, most of which is not in the Bible. And not all of moses` laws HAD to be revoked because things like "Thou shalt not kill" are UNIVERSAL and exist in every culture without the hebrew god`s words.

Because of this , God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

Yes irrelevant, because the obscure and arguable passage you are quoting has nothing to do with the fall of the the Roman Empire. All you are doing is attempting to quote an ancient fairy tale. You using the Bible to back up your argument is like me using Homer`s Odessy or any Greek myth (which speak well of homosexuality) to back up mine, which I have NOT done. They are ancient stories written by MEN who can be easily corrupted and have been edited over the centuries by those in power in order to both fool, corrupt, and scare the public. Because you`re quote is a line from a fictitious book of propaganda, and not factual historical evidence, IT IS IRRELEVANT.

Ok, stop flipping through the Bible and trying to "outquote" each other. We`re not going to solve the gay debate on this forum, clearly. Everyone here is entitled to their own opinion, however close-minded and unpleasant to others it may be. I for one, believe that there is nothing wrong with homosexuality, and furthermore that gay-bashing is ridiculous and cruel--especially in a time where our lives are endangered by terrorism. But that is merely my opinion.

Now, there is a caveat to this opinion thing; those in positions of power and authority (such as this particular woman) have the responsibility to do right by their ENTIRE community, and they do not have the luxury of spouting ignorant rants such as these. People in positions of authority abuse their status as role models and community leaders by forcing their opinions down other people`s throats.

You`re opinion is the right one... Funny, the terrorists say the same thing about their opinion, as do the Jews, the Hindus, the Taoists, the Buddhists, the Zoroastrians... The Romans on the other hand believed no one philosophy was the one true way and mixed various culture`s religious beliefs to form their own. If the Christians had come into Rome, humbly waving their hands and saying "God Loves you, Love each other" like Jesus taught them to do, no one would have persecuted them. Instead they came in and said "Our opinion is the the only right one. We`re right, you`re wrong, therefore you are evil and we must destroy you." There`s very little difference between Al Qaida and Ms. Sally Kern who uttered those horribly ignorant words. All religions who espouse words of hate are terrorist orginizations.

Ordering people to be put to death- That`s a pretty f*cking strong literary term for saying you`re firmly against something. If only Hitler had thought of that defence! "When I said the Jews should be gassed to death in mass concentration camps I didn`t really mean it- I just meant I`m firmly against Judaism". How would that wash?

Midas your example doesn`t make any sense. The Romans didn`t care what gods the people they conquered worshiped because they saw all other cultures` gods as analogs of their own. SOME emperors insisted on being Deified but that did very little to their entire religion. The Romans didn`t persecute the Norse, or the Celts, or the Gauls for their religions. They simply conquered them for power and wealth. The Jews revolting against the Romans only shows that the JEWS were intolerant of other religions...not the Romans, as was the point you were trying to make. The Jews at the time were more concerned about paying taxes to a foreign power, and didn`t realize the benefits of Roman occupation - a point made oh so eloquently by the People`s Front of Judea in a scene from Monty Python`s Life of Brian.

cant AIDS be spread other ways than intercorse
it can be spread through blood and semen
so that means you dont have to be gay to get aids
Like blood donations that were not fully check(long time ago)
and the drug use(thats not good though)
and doctors have a chance of getting blood in system
sex is not the only way to recive aids
and it can be given at birth
africa i think has aids quite a bit
but does that mean millions in the country are all getting together and doing the dirty deed?

You can`t just pick and choose the "nice" bits of the bible and ignore the bits filled with hatred and bigotry. So actually, this woman (complete nut-bar that she is) IS following the bible. In many ways, she`s more of a true christian in that she follows every word of the bible, unlike what most christians tend to do (pick and choose).

^^ OK then, how about the New Testament? 1 Corinthians 6:9 "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders" (NIV). Or does this also fall under the category of one of the unsavoury bits of your holy book that you choose to ignore?

And if you`re a TRUE Christian then you believe that only through salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ who died for our sins blah blah blah is anyone going to heaven. Christianity therefore declares that all atheists, muslims, hindus, shintoists, pagans, jews (and maybe, the wrong `kind` of Christian, i.e. Mormons, Catholics, whoever, depending on how you interpret your personal brand of Christianity) are all going to burn forever in eternal torment in Hell. That`s the alternative, right?

Sorry, but to me that`s f*cking abhorrent.

OK, naturally I agree with the person who posted this (terrorism or homosexuality? the former is obviously worse.) but I must take offense to the wording inside the article. Homosexuality worse than "terrorism OR ISLAM." Grouping an entire religion with terrorism just because the terrorists happen to be of that religion? Are we saying there have never been Christian terrorists? Umm, Inquisition? Crusades? Anyone? Now I don`t hate Christians. I just think this is grounds for NOT HATING ISLAMS. Islam is NOT a threat to the country, even if particular Islams are. Are Asians a threat because of Virginia Tech? I think not.
