The baby was born 18-inches-long and the mother is 28-inches-tall. The mom"s torso was like a body glove for the baby.

I live in the same town as this lady, and she is a very sweet lady who is very well liked in the community. Yeah, she`s different. But she doesn`t ask that anything be changed for her, she can do damn near anything the rest of us can. Her babies are well cared for and they do it without special treatment. If you want to be mad about someone having kids, why don`t you focus on the crack whores that have 10 kids just to end up throwing them in the state system, assuming they live long enough. Stacy has a husband that loves her and obviously has no problem with her condition. Most of you should be so lucky. Get off your high horse and have a little F*%$ing compassion!

"If the baby grows up to be a midget, then he/she (did they mention the gender? I forget.) will be mocked by his/her peers and maybe even severely harrassed. I`m 14 years old, and 4ft 6in (NOT A DWARF OR MIDGET), and people often teased me in elementary and middle school because of my height."

So do you think you or that baby would be better off not existing?

Yeah. Life sucks, it`s painful, and pointless. I wouldn`t commit suicide or anything drastic like that, though. Life isn`t THAT bad. But definitely sucks, especially if you have a disorder of some sort, or basically anything that makes you stand out from others.

Some of you people are absolutely sickening. I could not believe some of the comments I read. It seems like I am one of the minority in seeing what this little lady has done as admirable. She`s done the impossible, and is so brave. She hasn`t laid back and accepted that Drs told her she shouldn`t have babies, and probably couldn`t. She went had didn`t just have one, but two! I would give anything to be as brave as she was. She is a true role model.

And why is her husband a pervert for falling in love with her? Looks aren`t anything, but boy does her personality make up for anything shes missing in height and looks. Her laugh cheered me up so much. It`s wonderful.

Why can`t people looks on the positive side of things? They`re a happily married couple, who had kids. Yes the mothers short, but would a couple who had kids, who were both normal height get this reaction? No. It`s despicable. Absolutely vile how shallow people here are.

A man is good enough to marry her because they are in love, regardless of anything else, and you call him a PERVERT? Shame on you.

im not trying to be insensitive or anything but that was a stupid thing for the mother to do. its quite selfish actually. (she wants the joy of a child, and then risks to deprave her husband and children of "wifehood" and motherhood). and to even go for a third one?! wtf woman?! im not trying to take your happiness away, but you are risking your life and the normality of your own children. dont be a fool. adopt

fluffyhoob:
Firstly you say that people without disabities can have complications when pregnant too...yes no one denies this and there is nothing we can do to predict it, but the chance of this particular child growing up to be 100% healthy is next to nothing, if not nothing. Chances are the child had a lack of oxygen, due to lack of blood, during pregnancy which will most likely have caused brain damage.

Secondly you claim that those saying she should rather have had an abortion are being insensitive. Did you not stop to think that we are possibly being sensitive towards the wellbeing of the child rather than the womans desire to have a child. With all the things that could have gone wrong you can`t deny that there isnt a significant chance that the child could have suffered/will suffer.

i find it funny how people always put their own feelings on someone else. the example in this case being things like `if this was me id go with adoption` and `another person destined for therapy in 20 years`
has it occured to these people that these disabled people are not them? and therefore see the world completely differently? dont forget this lady had this condition from birth herself. she may or may not have had therapy..but if she did it seemed to work. it wasn;t like she was `normal` and then suddenly became disabled...in my experience thats when people with disabilites need therapy...not so much if they are born with something.
im not saying what she did was right, im not saying it was wrong either. i have been outraged at people for getting pregnant (for example people who pop out kids purely to live on benefits)..but i admire this lady for how she is coping with life.

also i think comments shunning the negative comments are mostly from women because as a general rule

To all of you making comments about her having the baby and she could have died. Wake up complications can happen to ANYONE not just "litle people" and glad to see some of you want to set people with disabilities back to where they "arent allowed" to have children.

Also, ANYONE can have a kid born with a disability. There are time when a "disABLED" child is born to "normal" parents.

And apparently they already had one kid who just happened to have a disability SO WHAT that is not all of who a person is. I am a person who works 40+ hours a week, drives, and does tons of other things plus I have a College degree. guess what.. I have a disability OMG!!

Wow, that must have been so exteremely uncomfortable the whole way through! I would guess she would have to be cut open to get the child out also, it would be horrible to give birth to a child of that size (compared to her body size)
There is a chance the baby could grow up to be short and you know what? I`ve learned most people with some form of disability or anything that people pick on them for find the truest of friends and have a better outlook on life. Look at the lady in the video for example- she seemed in good humor and was willing to get a joke out of herself. Good for her for having much more confidence than I barely do and have so much more to deal with also!

Ps- I think I heard her laugh in a cartoon before. :D Hilarious!

one of the children has the same disorder the mom has, but the other one should grow up to be normal height.

it definitely is an amazing story, and they`re obviously very loving and optomistic people. who knows if the kids will be teased at school, they probably will just because children are cruel, but the parents are such good people i think the kids will just grow up to be strong and compassionate, not scarred for life.

As mean as it may sound to you guys, I agree with this.

If the baby grows up to be a midget, then he/she (did they mention the gender? I forget.) will be mocked by his/her peers and maybe even severely harrassed. I`m 14 years old, and 4ft 6in (NOT A DWARF OR MIDGET), and people often teased me in elementary and middle school because of my height.

It seems many parents these days don`t bother to teach their children about respect and kindness.

I have a great urge to bring up how girls/women these days, even the young ones, wear the tackiest/sluttiest clothes... but that`s not really related to this topic, and I don`t want to bother you with my tedious rants. :-)

Secondly just because you`re a little person does not mean your children will be little as well. The news caster said she was expected to be normal sized. Just because she`s not attractive to you doesn`t mean that no one else will find her attractive. To everyone that had something negative to say, shame on you. Its people like you that make society just a little bit more cruel and uncaring. Just because something isnt to your standard or its different from what you would do, its automatically ridiculed. And people wonder why other people go on shooting rampages, its because there is so much hostility and ridicule in this society that some people cant take it and do something stupid.

Now for a bit of education. Yes, this woman had apparent reasons which her doctor would have told her it was unsafe to bear children.Keep in mind that we all may have dormant mutated genes that manifest itself in our children, leading to a variety of problems at childbirth and during the life of that child. We all take a risk when bearing children, whether we realize it or not.

JeffyPoo- how does this translate into self esteem issues?? Actually, he must be very confident to be willing to deal with comments like yours his whole life! He is in love with a woman with a good heart who loves him. Isn`t that what most people hope for? Looks are so fleeting and so unimportant to what really matters.

Muselike- extremely irresponsible?? How do you see that? A loving married couple decides to have a family. Don`t people do that where you live? Or is it also irresponsible for anyone with a physical disability to have kids- anyone in a wheelchair, is blind, etc? And should we then take away someone`s kids if they become diabled after having kids? I`m sorry, but that kind of attitude annoys me. I think all the teenage kids having tons of babies and not caring is the irresponsible thing. Not a married couple that loves each other a

"Its great that she survived the pregnancy. I would have probably gone with adoption, especially if the doctor said I might die during pregnancy (if i could get pregnant)."

...

If she were to give it up for adoption, she`d still have to carry the baby to term, so would still have all the risk of dying during the pregnancy. You must be thinking of abortion.

That must have been a horrible feeling carrying a baby that could be the cause of your death any day...

And the doctor said for her to have an abortion snow113, not an adoption.
