Tis truly a sad day. He`s been playing since I was two. It`ll never be the same...I bleed cheese, in case it`s not obvious. I`m wearing green this week in mourning.

Go Pack go. and don`t forget:

LOL at blakus. It`s a sad day for all Packer fans (myself included.) I wanted to see him play in person just once before he retired, but that was hard seeing how I live in Tennessee. He was the reason I fell in love with the game. I`ll always be a Packer fan though. Let`s see what Rodgers is made of.

Tom Brady FTW (or loss, ala Superbowl).

I`d be happier if Green Day dissolved.

As a Seahawks fan, I`m glad he`s finaly gone, and he should have retired years ago. As an NFL fan, it`s truly the end of an era. All the disgusting media lovefest aside, Farve was still one of the greatest QB`s in history. See ya in the HOF, Brett!

I can`t really say I`m surprised. I was actually expecting it to happen. Favre was far an away the best QB Green Bay have ever had, but after 17 years in a very tough career field, he was ready.

I was extremely sad when I found out. But, gota give Aaron Rodgers a chance to be starter now! Brett may not be a Packers player anymore, but he always will be to me.

About time... he choked BAD at home in the playoffs vs the giants. If his backup played they would have won.

Purple_Kush: I doubt he will. He`s done pretty much all he wanted to do; He`s one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL, broke several records, and took his team to the national championship. Considering he did all this after one of the worst years in recent Packer history when everyone said he might as well retire, I think that he`s making the right choice. He`s been with the Pack for 16 years: He deserves a nice retirement. Who knows...maybe we`ll see him coaching soon.

On a side note, I hope they retire his jersey, too. *Salutes* Here`s to you, Favre.

Brett Favre was the first (and only) quarterback I was a fan of! On a side note though, Aaron Rogers has a lot to live up to now. :)

Dainty- you`re the coolest person from Illinois I know haha!

It didn`t say in the article, but the reason he`s retiring is so he can spend more time playing horse shoes with Tony Danza.
