and the judges smiles were so pitifullooking haha :]
and no Hanninha...straight from the horse`s mouth - she admitted not being fluent in English. I admire her courage tho`. Of course she can`t say things otherwise because she can`t really conceal that fact.
Hence the reason why she`s taking up (decided to, that is) Broadcasting: To be better in English. Im sure they hired teachers, speech coach, and all that jazz.
You can`t even use grammar or punctuation correctly in a sentence. Don`t preach about learning how to speak English when you failed as well.
As funny as that was, I would have died right there and started bawling xD I think she handled herself pretty well for knowing that she pretty much blew her chances to hell.
she`s really pretty though :P
poor thing. haha.
He was SOOO mean about what happened.
With enough practice, she can easily learn to master the language. At least she didn`t need to go under the knife to get that face and body of hers.
It might be embarassing for us Filipinos to some extent, but again, as said, she won the pageant. All she has to do now, is study english.
I always prefer to look younger, not older, I thought she was 26, that sucks!
That`s why call centers here are booming and sprouting left and right. English Speaking Policies are now implemented in private schools and a number of Public School as well.
I `unno if you guys noticed, the host told her to talk in Tagalog/Filipino already. He should be paid a lot for keeping a straight face.
Understandably, she`s nervous. But I`m certain that she`s had time to practice, or at least rehearse stuff, like Miss South Carolina did. Her rant just shows immaturity instead of the wisdom of shutting up, thinking about the answer and giving at least a coherent reply.
This wasn`t an american pageant, retard.
She was defending herself last night - saying she only heard the Family and Role part. Oh well...she`s a household name overnight. I`m surprised it got here as well.
I mean, come on, even OUR pageant contestants, let alone members of the community, have a hard time speaking properly.
Not to mention you people who TYPE IN EBONICS FOR CHRISSAKES! GOOD LORD!
How would you feel if we all asked you to speak Chinese and then laughed at you when you obviously couldn`t?
Still, no excuse for her rambling on about why she was nervous. I agree, she needed to stay poised, because she looked like a ditz.
she IS pretty tho =P
She did look older than 17 though...well I guess most girls at 17 these days already do...
Sweet girl, though! Loved her voice! =)
Mumbling incoherently, and saying things like "oh, I`m only 17" etc etc is very unprofessional. And seriously, she can`t be the only 17 year old in the competition.
In short - quite the typical "OMG, liek, I dunno wat to say, lol! like seriously! O-M-G" type of dumb. I think her language is quite irrelevant. Most Filipinos are fully capable of speaking English fine, except with their own accent.
But it also makes me question why she was on it to begin with.Or why she couldn`t just ask them to explain the question better instead of going on some strange rant.
Can we wipe out her genes before she does some real damage?
That was all I got out of that.
