(and no i`m not a troll. i have the right to say it)
I`d rather eat my own poo, than spend an hour watching Fox News.
Jack Thompson + Fox News = EPIC FAILHow does one even gain the title of "Campus Shooting Expert"? You go to college for that, or you just give yourself that title? Fox News FTL.
We all, or at least the ones of us that aren`t complete idiots, are saddened by such happenings (and any deaths, not just American ones)... but to see the pictures and realize that I used to walk on those sidewalks and through those buildings every day; it hits so much closer to home.
Anybody that attempts to use events such as these for ammunition in their own personal crusades so soon after the tragedy is nothing more than a hate mongering fool. If you can`t keep your mouth shut and give the families and friends time to accept the tragedy before spouting off your babble, then you have no right to speak at all.
Still, I can`t help but wish that suicides where you take a bunch of innocent people with you weren`t becoming so trendy.
That shooter is a bastrd and whatever he`s been given in hell, its far too easy on him.
Oh please. Shootings do happen, but not FOUR TIMES A WEEK as they seem to occur in your precious country. School shootings in Europe are extremely rare and tend to happen only once or twice a year in the WHOLE CONTINENT. And several victims are rare. However I do not think American gun policy is entirely to blame, it`s also the generally trigger-happy mentality that counts.
You might be right. I´m in college right now, and we are like 700 people in my class... There is a girl which I have noticed that is always alone and has no friends. I tried to talk to her once, but je was just... weird. She didn´t say much, and was pretty strange. The shooter of Virginia was also like that... And now I ask you: how the heck do you want us to help people who don´t accept it?ß
Standards: No apology needed, we were just stating our conflicting opinions.
I was a bit surprised to find myself feeling anger at the dude who was being interviewed. His attitude was detached in a way that isn`t like shock/trauma. How could anyone attending a large university in these times be completely unaware of a huge amount of suppressed unhappiness and violent urges on campus? It`s not possible. Most of us are guilty of looking down on others and avoiding those who are already too alienated.
Of course civilian and military terror are related. All violence comes from the same place: outside of love and belonging.
Thank you for tolerating my rant. I saw this on the news on the way to work this morning and I`m still processing strong feelings it caused.
one of the kids was so stressed out by school and home life, he was driving himself to do something nasty..
his family were constantly bickering about who got him and pupils at our school were always taking the mick out of him..
he was a nice kid...kept himself to himself, sat at the middle-back..
he had brung a 10" knife in his bag and was waiting for someone to annoy him..
one kid decided to go up to him and call him "a dirty paki"..that is when he pulled the knife out..he was in my lesson, so i saw it all.
the kid just freaked out started shouting "there is no way out! there is no other way!"..
he pulled out this big knife and cut the bullys throat, killing him..he then turnt the blade on himself..
everybody in our school thought it was all thier fault, but i have realized in time, we just need to treat each other with respect... R.I
But seriously, this is a major social problem isn`t it?
will you be shooting them with your failgun?-
I`ll shoot em with a stapler if I have too.I made the decision not long after columbine that if I ever find myself in this situation I`m not going to be one to live or die crying under a desk while some psycho gets exactly what he wants in everyone just sitting around waiting to get shot.
will you be shooting them with your failgun?
I laughed at this.My sympathy to all those involved.
and a note to our european friends, as I observed when I was in England shootings happen all over the world regardless of wether or not guns are banned. Instead of trying to use this forum to push gun policy please treat it as you would if this forum was about the Tube shootings or any similar event in your hometown. What people need right now isn`t poitics, but to know that people out there are mourning the dead in whatever way they see fit and hoping and praying for those still alive. Compassion will carry you far.
Haha. If there`s one thing that came out of this conversation, it`s that.
Don`t worry about rollingwit. . he`s upset because he`s 13, and retarded. Ignore the troll.
It`s past your bedtime. I`m done with this conversation, seriously, because if you`re that ignorant and spoiled, your parents need to beat you. Not should, need.
You are an a.ss, rolling"wit". It`s people like you that probably weren`t allowed into college in the first place.
Piroteknix. . .
1) Please. Stop. It`s at times like this where you need to be a little sensitive to what`s going on. This post is about NIU.
2) Unfortunately for mankind, you kind of have a point. Joseph Stalin said it, "A single death is a tragedy, a million deaths are a statistic." Is that right? No. Is it a part of human nature? Yes.
3) See part #1.
There are so many variables in these situations. Police aren`t fast enough, but is allowing concealed carry on campuses the correct thing to do? America needs to start having a lot of open forums to try and resolve this issue. Because currently, this isn`t working.
I go to Penn State, University Park. A branch campus, PSU Harrisburg, recently had a student convicted because on his myspace he was threatening to make VA Tech look like child`s play on a PSU campus. This is everywhere and its a real problem.
My major was all about trying to find the social causes of stuff like this, and it`s still a mystery. We obviously need to work as a society to figure these things out.
WHAT CAUSES SOMETHING LIKE THIS TO HAPPEN!? It`s all so senseless. Absolute terrible. My condolences to everyone involved. I can`t imagine what being involved in a tragedy like this is like.
As for Piroteknix, your thesis is that we should support the war on terror "but no one cares, or even SUPPORT the war on terror" yet why should we support something that has claimed lives? Also going along with Pikaro, there`s a major difference in those standpoints. If you want a comment space focusing on the middle east, post something about that. But for this, right now, it`s all about NIU.
That`s VERY different from a civilian (not a terrorist) attacking a university.
There is a lot of death in the Middle East, but the premise behind it is completely different. Please get your facts straight before you make rude comments.
We are all praying for the families here and thank those who are sending their hopes and prayers our way.
But seriously. I graduated from NIU in 2006. And I still know people there (from what I know they are all ok). I had many classes in that building. And I hate that now when I tell anyone I went to NIU they will think of this.
Once again, our hearts our with you Pikaro (no pun intended)RIP to those who died.
CONSPIRACY, ARREST HER NOW.
Yes, because the amount of security can directly contribute to how fast a bullet can fly and how badly it can hurt you. You think he did this ONLY because there`s a law that let you carry around guns? That`s like saying people steal things because it`s legal to go into stores.
Shut up, for the sake of mankind.
Apathy and a sadist attitude are probably variables.
Also, it`s been confirmed four are dead from the shooting, and the shooter was not a student.
but anyway, thats scary, i hate when school shootings happen even if they`re far away, it still scares me..
a friend`s cousin was in the room. Pretty scary.
