It"s February 29 so if you"re waiting for your guy to propose, just pop the question to him--it"s Scottish tradition.

I`d ask my fiance to marry me today if we weren`t already engaged. We did it the fun way. He proposed to me on his birthday, and we`re getting married on mine. That way, NO special day is forgotten. :)

Insaneee: But you...OH! I get it! You`d age slower than everyone...but the big downside would be the lack of presents. :(

for the last couple of weeks my professor kept talking about woman proposing to men today and sadie hawkis and stuff. We thought he was nuts cuz none of us (at least me) had never heard bout this before

I honestly think that would be awkward.
I cant honestly see myself asking someone to spend the rest of their life with me...
I don`t know how people can do it.
Maybe marriage isn`t my thing ;]
Then again, I`m only 16.

A proposal`s meant to be romantic but that`s a bit hard to do if you give the guy a present. If you give him something he wants like a poster of a naked lady with massive breasts then that`s definitely not romantic but if you give him something romantic like a ring or (god forbid) flowers then he`s gonna think your calling him gay. Just pop the question and forget about a gift.

No I was referring to the dresses the two women were wearing at the start of the video when they were introducing the (evidently fake) decree.

Though the kilt still counts as a dress.

I`m Scottish and I`ve never heard of this before. And St Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland, it`s St Andrew for Scotland, so surely if St Patrick were to invent something like this it would be taken up in Ireland.

Nice kilt though.

I found the warring comments between people on YouTube to this film more entertaining...was just like being at home (IAB)..

Interesting tradition...

Way to be a pioneer, St Bridget!

St Patrick and St Bridget were Irish yes? (I know Paddy was technically welsh but meh) therefore it was an Irish tradition which the Scots developed.

I love videojug. The wacky acting does it for me, and I like the scottish dresses they wore.

But the idea of a woman leeching gifts from men isn`t just specific to Scotland.

ok, i totally ignored the actual video cause of the music. i don`t know what music program they used, but my friend made a song using that same loop... all i heard was singing in my head.

What do you mean?
I copy paste names, saves time.

From the posts I`ve seen from you, you`re not really outspoken against other posters other then agreeing or disagreeing. Even there.

But tonight, you`re genuinely looking down at them.
