The Legend of Zelda theme song played on Theremin with synth backing. Every song should be played on the Theremin.

what the drat is a theremin? And how the hell was he playing music by just moving his hands about the air?

What a bizarre instrument. I`ve heard it`s a bit tough to actually get good at (since there`s no actual buttons you push, only using your hands).

what the hell is a theremin? is it electronic? it looked like maybe there was a really thin string that he was pulling with one hand to alter the pitch.

I swear to one or more gods (or less), if that is Tay Zonday (or however it is spelled), I"m going 24th century on someones ass. Good thing I`m close to a campus, now all I need is a weapon, a plan of attack, and some balls.

I don`t even understand what`s going on. I see no strings. What is he hitting? Bad trip. Googling "Theremin." Sounds like a drug.

The theremin is also used in the original Star Trek theme song. Most people mistake it for a lady singing. Figures Roddenberry would use something that far out and trippy for a theme song for a far out and trippy show.

WRT "The Rabbit Joint" doing a "cool rendition" of the legend of Zelda.

Any die hard SOAD fanatic knew right off the bat it was not Serj or SOAD performing. To the untrained ear, granted, it could be mistaken, but you can clearly tell it`s not them.

Although, SOAD should do a rendition of it to clarify once and for all that they don`t play that lame Rabbit Joint version.

the BEST zelda rendition was by the Boston Pops. they did nothing more than enhance the music by transcribing the 8-bit melody to a full orchestral version. it is amazing.

and yeah, despite what limewire/google says, SOAD never made a zelda remix, this is how it became so though, ignorant people like you spreading ill-information...

your sadly mistaken my friend. this is not the best song played on this whatumacallit. Led Zeppelin used this in one of their greatest hits.

If only the accompaniment would have been... good, and the temp a little slower so as to clarify all the notes, this would have tipped the awesome scales.

... this instrument can ... some sort of "see" where your hands are and it makes sounds depending of the movement of your hands. Its... pretty complicated to let it soud good. Just search for it in youtube.

Camira, there is no such thing as a BAD Zelda theme song.
unless they change it and/or make it a "remix" then that just ruins it.

Slaador, if you`re talking about the "Link, has to come to town, has come to save the Princess Zelda" song, it is not by SOAD. The band that actually did it never gets credit for it because the singer sounds so much like Serj. The group is actually called "The Rabbit Joint." Yea, I know, google is full of links saying it`s SOAD. I`ll quote Michael Jackson for this purpose "They`re being ignorant."

The only thing cool was the theremin, which is pain in the ass to play. However, the best Zelda theme I ever heard was played by SOAD, and this "cool rendition" is nowhere near it.

Theremins are very interesting instruments which look very difficult to control. To play one of those things you need both hands to be basically frozen in midair with the slightest move changing the pitch.

whoa so that thing was a theremin... are they used in orchestral endeavors? and was the donut she was making w the right hand necessary for something?

P.S. The Theremin works my oscillating an electro magnetic field between the two poles. the placement of your hands relative to the poles creates a different feedback on the field which in then transfered to an amplifier.

I found myself ignoring the melody and concentrating on the background music, instead. Was that a marimba, a xylophone, or just synthesizer.
