The Giants" Eli Manning-to-David Tyree pass of 2008. How did Eli get loose? How did Tyree catch that with his helmet?

next contest should be giving a name for this catch, e.g. the immaculate reception, the catch, because it needs a good name.

also camira, id like to see all of those guys do that stuff in pads and getting the crap knocked out of them, and kick that ball, then id be impressed

Crz4mets2, do you have the express consent of the NFL and FOX networks to post this clip? Well if not, you should be getting a visit from the government...haha... jk, family guy joke... no one knows what I`m talking about?

The U.S and Europe. I think Jacobs was on a Aussie team, not sure though(Hey i am a Bills fan). Oh and they wear pads so they can get harder. How hard go out side and let a Truck, lorry, or what ever you call it hit you. the should be about the same as getting hit by a 300 pound linebacker. With out the pads it becomes like rugby.

This play deserves a spot in Super Bowl History. It even gives "The Catch" a run for its money!

HI-haole, people in other countries have heard of it, we just don`t care. As to the comment about AFL (Aussie rules football) yes it is only played in Australia competitively which is different from American football because it`s played competitively in the US and..................? Not that I particularly like AFL just don`t like people thinking that their particular sport is any better than any other. They are all just games after all.

Talpa as a WR I can tell you there is no such thing as a lucky catch.

Camira, normally I would be against Aussies participating in sport (they cheat I tells ya!) but that looks awesome in comparison to American Football. No pads, helmets or any of that, just pure brute strength. I can respect that..

sorry i have to say it again, it was a lucky catch. watch more football and you`ll know. 9 times out of 10 a quarterback scrambles and throws the ball into coverage its gonna be incomplete because theres too many hands in the air. Eli shouldnt be mvp either, the defense won that game. i guess they cant give the mvp to a group of players.

Talpa, that was not a lucky catch, it was in fact amazing. So I guess Eli getting away to throw the ball was lucky too? It doesn`t matter, Eli is MVP and a superbowl champ. Go Eli!!:)

talpa- get your head out of your a55. the fact that no one ever heard of Tyree makes this even better. it shows that just because you arent always in the spotlight, doesnt mean that you cant help win the greatest game in sports.(in my opinion)and since when is a come from behind, almost sacked, one handed catch made in every game?

"if you don`t know...you betta ask somebody"

He did ask somebody. It`s the championship game in the National Football League in America. Biggest game of the year, in my opinion. On to the clip. That was an amazing play! I fell off my chair when I saw it Sunday.

that was not an amazing catch, it was a lucky catch. theres a difference. anyway these kinda plays are made in almost every game, if not then there would be no pass rush and there would be no corners or safeties to make it difficult for the receiver. it wasnt acrobatic or anything like that, he didnt catch it, his helmet did. who even heard of this tyree guy before that?

Nice catch. And _Requiem, you don`t need an excuse to like it. Just imagine that was you, how would you feel? (Imagine the ball was your baby, though, and the other team were hungry werewolves.)

I did not watch the game, nor would I ever care to. Football is not my thing. That does not mean I cannot be impressed by an unlikely play though. It seems like anytime you mention American Football to non-Americans, they instantly shove sticks up their asses and start going on about Soccer. Get over yourselves, it comes across as hypersensitive and ridiculous. They are just sports (and money machines), so chill out.

A classic demonstration of an average team that beat a great team simply because they wanted it more.

And I dont care if you dont like football you have to admire this play. I am a Hispanic who likes Soccer and Hockey so I do have a broad perspective on sports. There is no other sport that has the athleticism of Football, soccer has more endurance and hockey has harder hits but there are so many other elements in football which eclipse those. 18-1*

What made this play great was not necessarily the catch and the throw but the fact that if Eli and Tyree didnt do it, the Superbowl would have been over

K - Anyone that doesn`t appreciate this does NOT appreciate sports in general. Not only did the quarterback get out of a straight fire blitz... the receiver caught it with crazy pressure right on him, on his helmet of all places... in the freakin superbowl!!!! Not just some random play in a high school game, the freakin SUPERBOWL!!!

Oh and Camira, don`t be a twat. That can`t be said for any sport, least of all a game thats only played in one country.

Stuff more remarkable than this occurs in Aussie Rules Football every other minute (Not to be confused with Rugby or Soccer (For those playing at home)).
