11-Year-Old Kid Bound for NBA

Submitted by: fancylad 9 years ago Sports

Of course, if he doesn"t make the NBA, he can always join the Harlem Globtrotters with all those moves he has.

...well this dosen`t help build the false notion that blacks are have a hereditary advantage at sports. the kids great but is it necessary to point out he is `by nature` a fast runner?

Yeah, the reporter was pretty... well... horrible but the kid was great. Genuinely working hard, imagine that for someone in the NBA...

That was awesome! Good for that kid! :-)

"How about 2 balls between the legs? How about 2 balls being DRIBBLED!" It all sounded so pervy... ;-)

The fact that he trains for four hours a day might help with his skills and that`s without all the pushups and situps. I just hope he doesn`t push himself or gets pushed too hard, could do him more harm then good.
The commentary was so annoying what was wrong with that guy?

Eh, he doesn`t seem much like a team player. I think he should aim for college basketball first, if he can get over his ego.

yet again it has to be a different coloured skin person who is good at basketball...come to think of it.. isnt there any super good basketball player who is white?

He probably does 8 sets of 25 or 4 sets of 50 pushups. That`d be pretty impressive if he could do 200 quality pushups without stopping.

I would have given it 4*, cos I admire kids with that much obvious sports talent, but I gave it a 2, cos of the dumb ass commentary. Thank god for the BBC and all that. I turned the sound down after about a minute, much more interesting then, turned it up once the kid stopped pissing around with tennis balls.

He has a long way to go before he breaks the 4 minute mile. Apparently he is the fastest 11 year old on the planet in competition but is only going to break the record later this winter. Pretty impressive, if he keeps it up and that`s a big if he could do whatever he wanted and will probably be a success at it. Good luck to the kid.

If this wasn`t a joke, then it was just...unintentionally very humorous. The announcer going wild over ridiculously small things: "BUT THAT IS NOT ALL. OH NO, THAT IS NOT ALL. HE CAN DRIBBLE BETWEEN HIS LEGS WHILE SLOWLY SHUFFLING FORWARD!!"

It would suck if he stayed that height forever though. . .

They mean sub-5 minute.
0
Reply
Male 49
Baalthazag...actually that WOULD make him faster haha that`s just extra weight...

anyways for the people that keep saying they run 4 minute miles...you better mean they`re merely breaking 5 minutes because nobody in the NBA can run a 4 minute mile...that`s extremely hard to do...only so many people in the world can...and that would be elite distance runners

a. why the flip would the reporter call him a freak of nature? that`s just not cool at all. b. that kids is gonna be so beyond raw when he gets to high school. it`s gone be like WHAT???

.... "He`d improve his time if he was wearing shorts that fit".....

Wow. Just wow.

Even if he does run competition in BBall shoes and shorts, that makes him better, not worse. Considering he`s still running better than everyone else, on earth, ever, for his age group.

Stop being a jackass, he rules as much as you suck.

I must say that I was impressed with his mile time among other things. Last time I jogged a mile it was 8 minutes. Some of the ball-handling stuff is not THAT difficult. I can do pretty much all of them, except for maybe one or two. His workout before bed is pretty good, but that is pure choice. I don`t do 200 pushups a night because I feel like I have other things to do besides work on my muscle which will do almost nothing for me in the long run. IMO, I could be playing guitar instead of working on my biceps.

Anyways, best of the luck to the guy, he should really work on his vertical leap though since it didn`t look like he was getting much height during his gameplay footage. Hopefully he will make it far...

That is pretty much all I have to say, I am probably missing stuff, so don`t get the impression that I am jealous or anything because he is pretty amazing for his age, and if he continues then he will have a good chance for the NBA...

I am impressed.

Horn. He is athletic and yes they do get people soley based on shooting and dribbling.
Rafar Alston aka Skip to my lou played for the AND1 Mixtape tour and the Miami Heat signed them. He broke the teams 3pt record and crossed everyone over. he now makes 27 million for the raptors.
Daquan Cook was drafted in the first round soley based on his shooting. And he is fast, a 4 minute mile.

azzerbdx. Your vo2 is partially genetics but can be improved upto 60% with work. 200 pushups a night is hard work.

And they do not disqualify athletes for having a high lung capacity.

Male 87
in all honesty...this video isn`t that impressive. and people who think he is going to be in the nba because of his skills in this video are completely wrong.

it doesn`t matter how great his shooting or ball handling is, you don`t need those in the nba anymore. some guy that is two inches taller and can run faster and jump higher would make the nba over this guy even if his ball handling and shooting were subpar. look at any nba roster they don`t draft people for talent anymore, its athleticism.

Male 1,556
hate to tell you kid but wiht an abnormal lung test like that you might not make it into the NBA because apparently its considered an unfair advantage.

Male 24
Nataly, this isnt heaven born athlete, he worked for this.
And Yellow square, they do these drills in highschool and thats only for the guards, whats amazing is that he is only 11 thats when most people start the inbetween the legs. And lets not forget the 200 push up part

------------------

Lance Armstrong had a VO2 max of about 84, and is classed as a natural athlete who has a huge natural advantage, and only has a vo2 this high because of his overly large lungs and heart.

This kid could do any endurance sport he wanted, by the age of 18 he could `probs start placing sub 20min 10 mile TT times.

Woah, that kid will definitely make it to the NBA one day. That is if he doesn`t get sick of it by High School and quit.

freak
–noun
1. any abnormal phenomenon or product or unusual object; anomaly; aberration

So you`re all stupid, he is a freak. We`re just so used to it being used in a negative connotation.

People need to stop being so jealous and compliment the little kid. To the first idiot who said if he doesn`t get much taller, he is 11 years old. Most people grow past 11 years of age, unless you didn`t which would account for your jealousy.

Others saying he can`t get into the NBA on dribbling alone...did you not see his pure shooting? And for an 11 year old, handles like that are certainly a start. Many players in the NBA develop their shot after they get in the league.

Others say drills like this are not impressive? He is a single 11 year old. He is not on a high school team. He is 11 years old. And yellow square I doubt as a center you can dribble two balls between your legs.

Male 7,933
Between the legs with two balls? I can do alot of those but not all of them, and at 11 i was starting to dribble
