I`ve always wondered what it took to be a nerd/geek. I haven`t seen ANY of the movies. Very close to seeing the matrix though. I guess I was underaged at the time it was released. Otherwise, I`m glad that I didn`t.

I`ve only seen one, and that was the brilliant Office Space. IMO, it really shouldn`t be on the list.

Oh, hang on, didn`t notice Star Wars. Seen the first one that came out but that was only for school.

Ha.
I`ve seen most of those.

Serenity is an amazing movie that was produced because Fox canceled the show Firefly. It was made as "an answer to all of your questions" movie.

Amazing.

"geek=smart
nerd=smart and dorky (typically stuck up about intelligence)
dork=weird, not smart
"

Geek = a carnival performer who performs sensationally morbid or disgusting acts, as biting off the head of a live chicken.

Nerd = person who is single-minded or accomplished in scientific or technical pursuits but is felt to be socially inept

Dork = Penis

Let`s see...never saw Pirates of Silicon Valley, Repo Man, Pi, Metropolis (or at least the version listed herein), nor Serenity (due to exceeded crap factor from Firefly).

I must say, though, where in the world was Strange Days (1995)? Or either Lawnmower Man? Or for that matter, eXistenZ (1999)? Or Dark City (1998)?

Oh, wait...I keep forgetting what kind of people make these lists. -_-

MY COUSIN (well, actually my father`s cousin) WAS IN PI! He played the transit cop that told the main character to get off at the end of the subway run. You see him from the back, from just above the butt, to about half way up his torso. He`s in the credits and everything!

Princess Bride can be classified as a 2Fairy Tale" No matter how good it is, it`s a Cult Classic. It doesn`t dwelve into concepts of humanity, life, Neolistic views about everyday life, where society is going.

Thus, not on the Geek list.

However, LOTR does as it`s based on books (if you did not know) Which have their own Universe and where celebrated much before the Movies where ever made. (Beetles wanted to amke a live action version of the books, Tolken declined) Led Zeppelin Even immortalised LOTR in two songs.

Not to mention all the hopeless nerds devoted to the franchise. (Difference between Geeks and nerds, Avid fans and... Well, you`ve all seen the SW EpII vs Triumph video)
