Hooray Omega Ferret! A good bitch-slapping is right.

Imalamer, so can I cast votes for all the registered voters who died since the last election, and while we`re at it, may I also cast my neighbor`s vote? He`s going to be at work and can`t make it to the polls. Yes please just put 50,000 votes down for John McCain, I`m sure that`s the way they would have voted if they`d actually been here.

One person, one vote, bitches!

we say the US is corrupted not because things like this doesn`t occure in other places, but rather because this particular video was about the US. However, things like this do not happen in every country, because in some countries there would be hell to pay for such atrocities as these.

Anyone found guilty of voting more then once should immediately lose their legislative seat.

However that punishment would be to simple and effective...

Do as I say, not as I do. Because I can do whatever the hell I want, I`m a lawmaker.

I love it when people from Europe say the US is corrupted. Hello, these things happen here too. Same thing happens in my country and politicians don`t even bother to explain themselves.

What a big fat load of cheese, I say. `We can`t pee, so we must vote more than once!` Sense?! NONE! Make a whole in the floor, if you have to, or bring a bottle to urinate in, if that`s really what`s forcing you to vote multiple times. Really, when something like this isn`t safeguarded, you end up with certain unnamed, and unworthy, politicians becoming political leaders. I vote for a new government. This one`s getting out of hand.

If one person `stole` a vote from another there would be hell to pay. It`s not like its a secret ballot and no one would notice their vote was cast in the wrong direction. Every vote is a matter or public record. Votes are not being stolen or changed by any other person. They are simply being cast with the push of another persons finger. This is not an example of corrupt politicians and to say it is is taking away from the truely corrupt.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? - Who guards the guards?

These are criminals who act as if they are above the law. They should be in jail. Sadly, their crimes pale in comparison to the federal government.

They should give each person an immunity to a different poison and then put that poison on their voting box. Poison solves everything.
...Or you could have a lock, whatever floats your boat i guess

Regardless of the "necessity" of this practice, it is still ridiculous. Even if their intentions are honorable, this sort of activity invites fraud among politicians and distrust among citizens. I remain unsurprised, and disgusted with my own country.

On the bright side this is exactly the sort of thing the news should be reporting. A nice change of pace to say the least.

There`s a Latin phrase. I forget the latin, but the phrase is this: "Who will gaurd the gaurds themselves?"

imalamer, the reason no one makes a fit about it is because they all do it. If one person stands up and says, "hey, he stole my vote," the offender could just point to the 50 times the accuser has stolen votes.

Wait. Hold on.
Maybe I`m not seeing this right.
I don`t think people are `stealing` votes from other law makers. The Dems and Reps would be throwing fits if the other side stole their votes.
I think people know how their neighbors will vote because they talk to each other. Then when their neighbor is going to the bathroom or eating lunch and a vote comes up they push what their neighbor would have pushed.
I realize its against the rules of their House, but no one is taking votes away from anyone else.

Wyrenth, the easiest solution is to make votes by a head count. That`s how we do it in Canada.

There`s a pretty easy solution to this. Install lockboxes on every voting pad and ensure that the only person with the key to open it is the person seated there. If they`re not there to vote, the box doesn`t get opened.

Wow wouldn`t they notice half of the people who voted weren`t there in the room ? Since they show the votes on a giant board...

so a bunch of liars and cheats run our legislatures... not all that surprised i guess, `tis a shame though. Whats that saying, those who are fit for power don`t want it, and those that want it aren`t fit... along those lines anyway

Wow, no wonder this state (and this country and world) are a mess. That voting system has to be one of the dumbest I`ve seen.

I heard a few years back that congressmen tend to ask one another to vote for them so that they could have time for other stuff (you know, like that trip to Wimbledon.) Gotta love democracy.

It`s times like this that I want to do like the Sealand guys did and start my own country.
