My heart goes to his family and fans.

I`m curious as to why this IAB article is phrased as a question. Well, he seems dead to me.

Anyway, did he finish filming for The Dark Knight or are they going to recast the Joker? Might turn into another Plan 9 from Outer Space. Oh noes.

I hope he got his role finished, because its set to be an amazing hit and one fantastic way for him to be remembered. The trailers look great and its sad to think when we finally watch the movie he wont be around. I think he was brilliant in all his films, it`s such a loss. I feel for his family though. It`s never easy to lose someone.

According to IMDB, The Dark Knight has been in Post-Production (that means finished filming) for about a week or more.

I love how many people here are worried that he didn`t finish, as opposed to feeling sorry for his 2-year-old daughter who will never really know her father.

Very very very unfortunate. So young, and such great promise! I mean, he was oscar nominated. And if you hate that he was best remembered in brokeback, get rid of your homophobia please. Because the entire essence of the movie is love anyway, regardless of whom you give it too.

My condolences, especially to his daughter.

ok.. i followed the link....saw the unfortunate story. it`s a shame, someone has died... anyone... not just him. but perhaps someone can explain to me; preferably one of the lame-assed people that only post stuff like `hey, i`m first`...why do you do that? is it some sort of weird american kudos thing? when you can`t string more than two words together to say more than `first`? before i get flamed... i have noticed that the ones to do it on that story were american.... why for pete`s sake? if you have nothing but hey look at me i`m first to post.... you have pretty much nothing anyway.

anyhoos... back to the story.... it`s a shame he`s died......... but more of a shame than the thousands of other people that will die today? no, not really.... just more noticable.

My sister ran in and asked me "HAVE THEY FINISHED FILMING BATMAN YET?!" because she knows that I`ve been extremely gungho about the movie, especially after I saw the trailer with Ledger`s amazing performance. He was just getting into his prime acting-wise with Brokeback, such a shame he`s passed away. :(

This is why you don`t do drugs, kids. He`s probably going to be the River Phoenix of our generation.

Police don`t know if it was an overdose on purpose or on accident. Family say that he had pneumonia and hadn`t been sleeping well at all the past week. He could`ve taken more than was recommended, and in his disorientation, taken even more.

For every1 going drugs = bad if you read updates on actual news sites he was prescribed sleeping pills and anti-anxiety medication because he couldn`t sleep after working as the joker. Also he had pneumonia which put him in a bad way to begin with. It might have being a drug overdose but it was prescribed pills any1 can accidentally kill themselves on those legal drugs.

He was a great actor and even though I didn`t care for Brokeback Mountain (didn`t see what all the fuss was about) he clearly showed his broad range in transforming his characters to believable personas.

My mom came home from work today and the first thing she said to me was: "Heath Ledger died."
At first, I thought I heard wrong.
But, no. Turns out it`s true.

I Love Heath Ledger. This was something I would never think could ever happen. From Jamie Lynn becoming pregnant. To this?! What the hell. :[

I don`t want to hear anymore terrible news.

R.I.P. Heath Ledger. You will be remembered. Always.

I`d give it awhile. Yes pills were found nearby. Which mean yes he could have od`d on them. Or they could have just been.. nearby. Could have been a heart attack. Or many things. Could have even been a problem caused by the pills not having anything to do with od`ing. Amazing how we leap to that conclusion first and never give benefit of the doubt.

It`s sad when anyone dies, especially young.

    I agree with phreakphit.
Just because pills were found nearby doesnt mean it`s an overdose. It could be something that has an adverse affect on him, like an allergic reaction. Or it could have been a heart attack. Or something completely unrelated. I don`t know. It`s too early. Sad. G`night all. :-|

    it sucks, poor heath RIP

its also a big blow to the new batman movies, i believe they did finish filming `The Dark Knight` but rumors of the ending leave it open for a sequel with the joker in it. and from what I`ve seen in the previews, there is now way they can replace him, he was one of a kind in his rendition of the clown prince of crime... Rest in piece Heath, rest in piece....

now watch it all be just a big publicity stunt for the movie... i hope....

Also, I find it typical that drugs are considered the problem here; and not whatever mental distress he was suffering that caused him to use them. Drug abuse is an expression of a problem, not the problem itself.

Don`t worry- I don`t think she`ll spend all of her compassion and run out of it. All she is saying is that it`s a shame we won`t be able to enjoy his acting in further roles... it`s not like people are weeping uncontrollably and completely shutting down.

If I used your argument, I`d be asking you why you`re wasting your time being so bothered over what people are saying when YOU can`t control it and it has no direct impact on YOUR life.

IMDB already has their page updated with his date of death (which i find odd to have happened so quickly). i thought he was a great actor, but like someone mentioned, people die all the time, its just the people who were actually affected by that person who ever seems sympathetic to it.

and the people who are asking about if he finished batman (which he did) are just as bad as teh people who are saying, "who cares" or "lame suicidal loser", a death is a death, its tragic, have some sympathy for his family in case they randomly come across this board. (yes, my family actually scoured the internet and pulled anything about my brother when he passed away, maybe heath`s family might accidentally come across these comments).

Why do rich, talented, and generally lucky people commit suicide? I really don`t feel for this loser at all. ---

Because, riches, all the talent in the world, and LUCK do NOT buy a person happiness and inner peace. The ONLY thing that will do that is Christ allmighty. I`ve SPOKEN with actors/ or rich people who said flat out the ONLY thing that will bring you inner peace is when you accept Jesus Christ. I believe it, and their stories. One man that I knew was rich beyond what you`d dream, and was going to kill himself. Instead, he put a gun to his head and said, "God, if you`re there so me!" so, God did. And he accpeted Christ. He is finally peaceful, and has no fear of death anymore.

Another moral of the story, you NEVER know when you`re going to die. So make sure that what YOU believe is what`s true, before it`s too late.

yea well i`m pretty happy with life and its not because i`m a jesus freak... i`m still hoping that this isn`t a suicide thing, the way its sounding now is that perscribed medication due to stress of work could have possibly interacted with each other. sleeping pills and antianxiety medication aren`t an awsome combo...

I am generally a happy person, and Jesus didn`t have a damn thing to do with it. You made a good point that money doesn`t buy happiness, but you don`t need to bring religion into it. There are lots of people out there who don`t believe in a Christian god or who don`t believe in god at all and many of them are perfectly content, just like some Christians out there are unhappy despite their unwavering believe in Jesus. So, god is not the ONLY thing to bring happiness and inner piece.

Also, there is no proof that Heath Ledger killed himself. There was a box of Ambien nearby, which he had a prescription for. There have been a lot of reports that there are problems with the drug that can include: "rage reactions, worsened insomnia, confusion, agitation, hallucinations and other forms of unwanted behaviour". Also, he had pneumonia, and the warning on Ambien specifically states that you should not take it if you have shortness of breath, which is something that pneumonia can cause

Being `the wife and child of the late actor` will probably be a pain, both publicly and emotionally. I expecially feel sorry for that child.

^they`re now saying it was accidental due to the affects of Stillnox (Ambien). That stuff makes you do radical things in your sleep. My friend drove to the police station in his underpants completely asleep on the stuff.

Its so surreal. We spotted him in a pub in Fremantle (Perth) on boxing day with Gemma Ward. So unexpected.

Omg he was a good actor but there is two things you people need to realize. A person dies ever couple of seconds and you dont feel sorry for their family`s. So you dont know them big deal? people die, if they didnt this world would be like Japan. And second Heath Ledger didnt commit suicide he was so pumped for batman he couldnt sleep and he took to many pills because they werent working and it killed him

Let Him Rest Leave It Be. No Need To Mourn Cant You See? People Die Its How Life Happens. And Every Day After Youre Life Saddens. You Have To Move On, Youre Life Is at Its Best, So Let This Man Have His Eternal Rest.
