I love how nobody has mentioned that they run any linux distrobution (well on pages 1 and 2) I run XP and Ubuntu, which are both pretty cool, but I use XP more just because I`m more familiar with it.

I`m using Vista right now and think it`s great. My only problem with it is that it has a spaz about iTunes so the screen starts of black but it still works and it`s a lot better than 98 which is what I had to use before!

Are you f|_|cking serious? I am a tech myself, and I think vista is fine for this early. They still need to release that first service pack to first the more major issues, but it really isnt that bad. Its actually pretty decent. Are you seriously calling windows bloatware? Try checking out a Mac`s processor/memory overhead.

I have duel boot windows 2000 and Vista.
I pretty much use Vista for games and 2000 for work. Vista has really worked for me and networking is even easier than before so im pretty happy with it.

Well.. all arguments about the quality of Vista aside, this was a well thought out, witty, entertaining video..

As for Vista?? I`ve never used it, and was nervous about switching from even `98 to XP (was afraid things wouldn`t be compatible anymore), but so far XP has been awesome.. My brother used Vista and had to switch back to XP because it caused him nothing but problems..

Now, ive never had vista... mostly becuase my parents dont have the $ to get a new computer... but thats fine, i dont need the fastest damn processor and the 10 trillion bytes of space... all i do is play online games... i dont need the highest standard of computers to play them...

i have vista, and it doesn`t bother me at all. Yea, it asks me permission to do everything, but sometimes i click the wrong thing, and i`m glad for that pop up. The only thing that annoys me is that its always asking me to back up files every 2 weeks, when i`ve only added like one new file... oh well YAY for Vista!!!

Just wanted to inform the vista sux folks that defender stops spy ware not virus. So yeah it won`t catch the virus that you get from your porn websites. I would suggest going to free.grisoft.com and getting the free anti-virus software. As for the Mac fan boys out there that claim they are virus free, well that is because there is only 20% Mac pc in the world market so why bother. 7 year IT with my own business and love vista. PS please don`t try to run vista on your XP sp1 computer and then grip when it doen`t work!!!

"yea.. microsoft is the mcdonalds of technology!
kinda weird video tho. the cement thing was funny"
not really. Mcdonalds is fine. there isnt anything wrong with mcdonalds. it doesnt have a monopoly on its industry. despite the idiots who eat it constantly, its not that bad in moderation, and obviously cant taste that bad, or people wouldnt eat there.
Microsoft, however, has a monopoly, limiting others` choice of operating systems. it also sucks =D

Now although I love Vista, (it runs fast and with all the special effects for me, and no problems, love it!), I thought this vid was gonna be a generic diss of Vista, but it was pretty funny and accurate :P

I have a Dell Inspiron 1520 which runs Vista and I absolutely love it. The only problem I have is that I lost 3 files somewhere. I may have just deleted them off of my computer though.

Don`t even start saying I know nothing about computers either. My ex boyfriend has his own IT business and all I EVER hear about is computers. He actually set me up with this one. I would`ve gotten a Mac, but my mom refused to buy one. So I ended up with a Dell.

I`ve never used Vista, so I have a question. Can you turn the pre-fetching off? If so, how much RAM does Vista then require in order to run at an acceptable speed? Frankly, anything over 512MB seems to me to be an ungodly amount of RAM for any OS to REQUIRE for minimum performance. I recently bought a new Macbook running Leopard with 1GB and it just screams. I was told I would need to upgrade it to 2GB if I wanted to run Vista on it via Bootcamp.

It makes me feel my age, but I remember writing games in 16K, being really grateful when dual floppy drives were introduced, and saying "Whoa!! That`s faster than I can TYPE!" when I first used a 1200 baud modem to dial up a BBS (an online forum/download/chat system prior to the web). Soon enough, we`ll think nothing of having petabytes of RAM (1PB = 1000TB).

And Windoze will still use it all, I predict.

And evanking will be drinking age.

i dont have vista, i hav xp,
and personaly i think mac is poo its sucks ass, it works like a bitch and looks like a bitches bitch. my thoughts on vista are, if ur computer is good, it rocks ass if u hav some pootty 98 computer, than theres no way in hell u can run vista,

My thoughts on mac commercials:
MAC IS A BITCH, when does pc make commercials flaming mac, only mac does it to pc. i had mac, and i enjoy gaming, mac runs like 6 games, thats including minesweeper. Mac mouse looks like a white dildo, and that poo is gay, i love the start button, how the drat do u even drating import something on a mac.

most of the ram being used while idle is how the computer runs so fast. it`s pre-fetching all of your most used programs, so everything starts up real quick. As I said, just get 2 gigs of ram and you`re golden (vista will soak up ever last MB.. right now i have 9MB of 2 gigs free, 1200MB of which are pre-fetched programs)

Why did they have to fix something that wasn`t broken? XP works fine now, I get no errors, as well as being able to do anything I want on my computer without having any troubles. Then VISTA comes out, and no matter how much I do on my cousin`s computer to make it better, it crashes, restarts, and everything I worked on to make vista usable was erased and restarted at factory conditions. People that enjoy vista don`t know about all the stuff hidden inside of it, personally, anything that takes 1gb of RAM at IDLE is something I would NEVER use. Thats an insane amount for a bunch of programs you cant get rid of and will never use in your life. They need to stick with XP and just release new patches, or better yet, do nothing at all and concentrate on making other things for people`s computer then newer sh*ttier OS`s.

I just got a shiny new computer with vista, and I think its absolutely fantastic. I got the second cheapest dual core processor from intel, and this machine blows away any XP machine I`ve ever run, even with faster processors. (at least it feels like it runs fast) As far as needing super duper hardware, the only thing that you absolutely must have to make it run fast is 2 gigs of ram. Everything else, isn`t necessary and it will run just fine. so thats what, a $40 upgrade, oh no...

I have to say that Vista in my opinion really does suck.

Its fine with the basic stuff, but trying to actually get a half decent programme running is a mass of complication.
Its like Vista has been put on Earth to make computer life harder.

Not a fan.

I have a few very valid complaints against vista.

1. On a computer with over minimum requirements it ran half-life 2 like poo

2. It doesn`t have ipx network support with is somewhat important for a gamer.

3. On the same computer mentioned above it got several BSOD right out of the box.

Im now running XP on that computer and have had no issues since.

I have both Windows and Macintosh. They both have their fair share of pros and cons but what you`re getting with the mac is less hassel. So I`d rather pay the extra cash to not have to worry about viruses and all sorts of crazy spyware. It simplifies everything.

evanking, you are a disgrace to the entire Male 13-17 year old from the Eastern US demographic. if you look at apple`s website you will notice that the processing power is the same, if not better, than a PC judging solely on hardware specs. check it out, and say again that they have half the processing power. They really are speed machines. and as far as "twice the price" is concerned, it`s a better price in the long run cause you`ll never have to pay for repairs because "macs aren`t important enough to write viruses for."

one more thing - you can right click on a mac. there`s just not a tactile button for it.

idiot.

btw, i`m a pc user (who is ready to switch because of my countless BSOD`s and virus that mcafee can`t get rid of).

Win 98 sucked bad, even with the endless "fixes".
Win ME worked just fine for me! Once I found all those `simple` adjustments hidden under >- 7! -< layers of clicking.
XP has worked just fine so far, but my desire to upgrade to Vista is actually less than zero. If they paid me, I`d still say no.

Vista isn`t all that bad...
People saying that they got blue screens within two weeks must be doing something wrong, because I`ve had Vista for months and haven`t run into any problems (well, none that require any effort to fix, that is) yet.
I agree with some things, though.. Like whats with Aero? I don`t know about you guys, but I never have so many applications running that I can`t find them on the taskbar.

what i dont understand is windows fanboys^^^^^ like my CS friends who have `brand loyalty` to MS even after they removed vista to go back to XP. i was a windows user forever until i finally got a mac, which makes tons more sense and isnt a pain in the rear to use. and it right-clicks! its so easy to run XP in a partition if you really like games, theres no reason to buy a native windows PC

you mac fans are a bunch of cattle. the only reason your pussy little woman`s computer is even worth spitting on is because its not important enough to write viruses for. and if you take that away, i guess its just half the processing power for twice the price.

raise your hand if you can right click!

vista suck, why?
1. It orders all your photoes in a nice order. Then one you click close, it hides them all, yay! You have to find where they are, then find that vista has muddled them up again.
2. It gets rid of nifty features. In the future, when (if) schools get Vista, there will be no more fun stuff to muck around with, e.g messenger on CMD.
3. WTF is wrong with XP????????? Nothing! Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz Plz dont buy vista!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember when XP came out and everyone was like "XP is sh*t, i want to stick with windows 98!"

I have Vista on my PC and it seems fine, i havn`t had any blue screens etc. I`m not saying it is perfect (i get annoyed by the ask permission screens and i find its new filing system confusing)

If you don`t like windows don`t use it. For most people they just want the easiest to use system. ITS ONLY AN OS FOR CHRISTS SAKE!

anyone who has vista, and isnt a computer-savvy person will always say its good. my boyfriend knows ALOT about computers....and when he got vista he had to re-install it 5 different times cause it crashed every two weeks on him...and then he went back to windows xp. it also seems that when he would unplug his computer...and move it...it would crash and he would have to re-install vista too. he hates it...

i was really hoping for an actual look at vista, not some overly biased pos video. I mean, lets face it, all we hear lately is BOO PC YAY MAC! and personally, im sick of it. I have had vista since RC1 and i havnt had any problems (since i upgraded to ultimte, rc1 had a problem with turning the UAC off). I have seen vista do some things xp has never done (and not just a bunch of 3d window aero poo). Long story short...i like vista!!

After 20+ years playing, coding, and working with various computers, I bought an iMac a couple of years ago and I really couldn`t be happier. It never crashes, I hardly ever reboot, the commercials are true, etc etc etc. It`s like Linux without the hassle.

Windows, from it`s very humble and plagiarized beginning, is garbage. It always has been and it always will be. Someone mentioned that it is the McDonalds of technology...they are absolutely right. Microsoft = McDonalds, Apple = a fine steakhouse, Linux (all versions) = that strange little vegan eatery where they have drum circles on Thursday nights. Sure, their food is technically better and more nutritious, it`s even organic and they grew it themselves, but who wants to eat that crap?

Anyway, had Steve Jobs been savvy enough to employ better marketing techniques in the 80`s, the world would be a much happier place today.

This post is too long. I need coffee.

Vista is a failure as in respect to what it was supposed to be. The consensuses of the general public is that they do not in fact like it. Windows has been relatively the same for the past 13 years. Now all off a sudden they decided to change it. Thats not going to go over well with your average Joe. I`m constantly having to load XP back on peoples new computers. This video sums it all up nicely.

well i remember 98 sucked before the service packs, in fact i didnt even buy it or upgrade till around sp2 came out, also allowed for upgrading computer cheaper. None-the-less it looks cool, get mac interface all the while you can actually upgrade your comp unlike macs.

Vista does suck. Not everything about it though just the fact that everytime you want do something like delete or paste, it always asks you "Are you sure you want to send blahblah to the recycle bin. And I`m like "You damn right I want to delete this piece of crap, I wouldn`t press delete if I wasn`t sure." I`ve never been so f-uck-ing sure in my life.

MS is garbage. i was a huge defender of MS for a long time. I build and program computers, I switched to Apple a year ago and will never go back a windows based machine. With Apples new OS Leopard running windows (when i want) i can now play my favorite video games on my Mac.

*shrugs* The only annoying thing about vista for me is the constant permission questions. If your computer doesn`t suck, its really kinda neat. If you don`t surf pron, you don`t have to worry about Windows Defender not being able to do anything.
Vista took all the cool things from a mac, and gave them to me... without it being a mac.
