"This is probably about 30fps (I assume, due to the smoothness), so 30FPSx60seconds = about 1800 frames in this (this is a very rough estimate)."

There is no way in f*ck this is 30 FPS. Fifteen, tops. I make movies in 7-8 fps, and it looks about as good as this.
Professional animators, Disney, Pixar and the gang usually animate at around 24-28 PFS, since that`s standard for motion picture, and I seriously doubt this guy surpasses their framerate.
It`s just unneccesary.

(Hehe. I ranted! :D)

six weeks to make a retarded video. Awesome. He didnt even draw the mario or goomba. He took artwork from the games and just printed them out n sheet. This was terrible

I agree with the majority of you all, This sureley couldent have taken 6 weeks unless he wasnt 100% devoted to it. The use of sound effects and stuff is ok but he could have atleast made an effect when he smooshed the goombas (I like to see things go smoosh!).

Althouh i give him one star for the creative use of the Paper mario sprite on a hand drawn animation.

Unless he had very limited time each day, i don`t see how this would take six weeks. The actual moving of the pieces would go by quickly.

6 weeks? I would have believed that if every Mario, Koopa, Peach and (I forget the name of the mushroom guys) were handdrawn, but they were pieces of paper. Only handdrawn components were the BG. I`m not impressed.

to be quite honest, this would take a large chunk out of your day for 6 weeks.

I am currently doing coursework on stop motion animation (literally a class on doing flickbooks, and things like this) and it takes longer than it looks.

This is probably about 30fps (I assume, due to the smoothness), so 30FPSx60seconds = about 1800 frames in this (this is a very rough estimate).

So think about how long that took to get 1800(ish) frames, and how subtly you characters would have to move every time, just to get the desired effect

^ amohalko has a point. If that took him six weeks, he probably has a life.

Although, if he doesn`t have a life... Then thats just pathetic.

I sincerely doubt that took six weeks. He printed off mario sprites from the internet, cut out a picture he drew of a goomba, and a few troopers and shells. Then he drew six scenes on six pieces of paper. He did overly dumb stop-motion using these materials, and got a 25% entertaining video clip.

If it took him six weeks, perhaps he does in fact have a life, and used most of that time to sleep, go to work, and spend time with his wife/kids/girlfriend/boyfriend. For any normal person that makes an internet video, though, this should have taken maybe three hours.
