oh and speedy, its called JELLY.

you americans have got to stop thinking you own the bloody world! the language is called ENGLISH, as in, from ENGLAND, and YOU stole it!

just because youre too stupid to appreciate comedy that requires any sort of thought, doesnt mean your lowbrow, canned laughter C-R-A-P is funny. its not.

and thats_nifty, youre clearly an idiot. the office is a mockumentary. in case you dont understand the concept of compound words, thats a mock documentary. and in documentaries, the people are AWARE of the camera and they TALK TO IT.

well, thats my lil rant over for today.

The American version is C-R-A-P-T-A-S-T-I-C! Ricky Gervais is MUCH funnier, American are just idiots.
Thanks, binxyboo, I love the stapler in jelly one. Ricky is a legend.

Nifty, you are so clueless. You are forbidden to ever enjoy The Office again - in any country.

ConverseUK,

I doubt that American difficulty in understanding the U.K`s Office has much to do with I.Q and more to do with the differences between the sentence structure (as in, differing filler words, different way of posing things), a general difference in dialect and in usage of words, and the characteristics of comedy and the tie-in to language. After all, isn`t comedy about timing and phrasing? So if it`s difficult to process because of the language differences, the timing isn`t right, and therefore probably less funny.

That was a rather harsh comment. Subtlety in comedy is key in its reception; without a good grasp of U.K English, the subtlety is lost.

are u joking?! u think they look into the camera by accident? its all on purpose! there`s supposed to be some kind of cameraman there that they always look at, it`s what makes it so funny
especially in an awkward moment. And anyway, in those us clips they were looking in the camera all over the place! idiot.

i duno about the american office but no one in this world is like ricky gervais, he`s genius.

All I have to say is that in the British version one of the people looked into the camera.

1st rule of show business: DON"T LOOK INTO THE F*CKING CAMERA!

it goes right along with don`t look directly at the audience. It is creepy and kills the barrier between the audience and the actors.

Therefore the American version wins, mainly because they followed the rules. Go America.

WTF, the prank where Jim convinces Dwight that he`s turning into a vampire doesn`t get in the top ten?

By the way, I love both versions of The Office. I thought the American version would suck like most American rip-offs do, but this one actually works very well. And Kevin is super hot.

I love the prank where Jim slowly and secretly adds nickels to Dwight`s phone headset and then suddenly removes them all, and Dwight hits himself in the head when he answers the phone because he`s used to it being heavy.

NO F*CKING RETARD IS JUST GOING TO GIVE UP AND TAKE IT IN THE A$$ BY SAYING: "yea you`re right your country has better humor," SO WHAT THE POINT? WHO ARE YOU WINNING OVER?

kph59, no offence but I think you`re too stupid to get our humour (note English spelling).

How can you not get what the Monty Python lads are saying? Do you mean you don`t get the jokes? I guess it makes life harder for stupid people such as yourself when you need to actually *think* about a joke.

"Oh look, he was eating pizza and got pizza all over his mouth. Now he tries wiping the pizza off but the pizza gets spread even further. Pizza. Hahaha."

Compare that to a nanosecond glance that Gervais gives to the camera. Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner.

That`s it, I`m going out to buy some jello. The only hard part is finding someone with the right sense of humour.

British humour is the the best humour there is, but the American version of The Office is funny as hell.

No offense, but

American office > British Office
American humor > British Humor

Don`t get me wrong, I love monty python and all that, but I generally have no idea what the hell they`re even SAYING, never mind understanding their jokes. Maybe it`s the same for the british. I don`t belive so, though.

"ooh, discipline kinky" lmao, funniest line
iv`e seen the british version and some of the american version, but i like them both. the british one is brilliant, but there are some parts in the american version that are funnier where the british didnt quite use it to its full potential, but overall the british one has more laughs

lol its a good thing you didn`t just leave that joke hanging, the subtle irony of humour about humour wouldn`t be worth the TERRIBLE things people say to each other about different versions of the same show.

manotee, wtf.
both shows are different with their humour, the american is more obvious whereas the british more subtle =/ no need to bash either but surely we can like one better than the other, and in most british cases it`s probably the british show! they`ve both been successful anyway so who gives a damn

Yes, Maksie, #3 should be a little higher in rank.

I have been part of IAB for a while now, this is probably one of the best posts ever. It doesn`t deserve an acronym, I was Laughing My A$$ Off!

Hey Cmanatlan, nice porn-stache.

"Much funnier"...? That was the first time I`ve seen the British office, and that sucked. Everyone sounds the same, which detracts from any humor imparted by character personality.

"^^ and the one where he trained him to reach for mint when Jim boots up his PC :)"

AL7AIR, I was waiting for that one the whole time. I thought it would me number one. IMO it was the best prank, fictional or not. I gotta try it in real life. LOL when Dwight reaches out for the mint when Jim didn`t offer it.
"-what are you doing?
-oh, sorry, I don`t know, I feel weird and my mouth is salivating..."

#1 was the best.... `You`re friends with the vending machine guy"
"Who, Steve?"

Also, #3 was pretty good.
I still prefer the Chaser`s war on everything though, because I don` think we get the office in Australia

I find the office too much boring between the funny parts, so by the time something remotely funny happens, I`m already sleeping.
So at this point, it;s safe to say that IAB just made me even more bored, which is well enough considering I gotts go to bed now anyways :/
