honestly folks, this is a good thing
Not for them! *musical sting*
Yeah I agree, guns don`t kill people, but they make it far too easy for people to kill each other. It takes determination to get up close and kill someone in unarmed combat or with a knife etc, none at all to stand 20 feet away and blow their brains out.
I bet youd say different if you were lookin down the barrel of a .45
Just waiting for the Darwin Effect to kick in with these idiots.
and when I`m talking "we" I mean the world
The invention of the Gun is on that border of being the greatest thing, to being the worst thing made. Yeah we get self protection from them, and yeah we have gone to war over what we think is right. We also have abused gun as well. Mass murders, school shootings, assassinations, Self harm.
What we need is commucation
Fact of the matter is that you should take the malevolent person away, not the guns.
those people are idiots, [Guns dont kill people, people do] is a real fact! and i would guess it is even worse when the people are drunk and have never held a gun before... lol
Lol at least you admit the needless self depreciation.
Karagoth: actually it`s an economic standpoint. Everyone preserves their own self interest so they can continue to do so in the future. The only reason anyone joined the war was their own self interest. My pointing out of the war was a simple counter example to show how bad the original examples were and that it could be skewed to any such desire. So if you get into a battle, if it`s your or them, who do you hope gets slaughtered? exactly, them. It only takes one party to escalate something to needless violence, then you can react with equal or greater violence in hopes to end it, or try a more tame approach and hope their violence doesn`t end your life.
And, thank you for making a post that`s more than a few words long.
You know who you are.
Hehe. I figure someone`s gotta do it.
As far as I know, no one claims to like Bush, or at least shouldn`t. So I agree with you on that. But say the president sucks not everyone here. You`re right you`re a dumb ass.
goaliejerry: Yes we helped defeat various armies that came against Europe, but they may have been able to do it, it would have just taken longer, it`s a bad argument. lol and couldn`t you tell she was drunk if she acts like that normally I`d hate to see her intoxicated.
Imeagla: I agree people are what make things bad, they just use various tools to justify the ends.
No they don`t need all that money, but we agree to pay it to them, so they keep making it.
Except for what you represented so well, being pompous and looking down on everyone. Oh and then there`s Chavs that`s mentioned on here so frequently. Then name a region, I`m sure you have something against it.
As for your example that can be associated with anything. Something you feel protects you, doesn`t fulfill it`s intended purpose 100% of the time. Guns, knives, medical drugs, cops, teachers, government, parents, your car....etc etc. Get over yourself and your examples, they`re horrible.
As for the old war rant, shall I just say The American Revolution, WWI, WWII. Try again.
EstiloPanama, I agree with you on the fact that America is anything but self-sufficient...We`re the opposite...this could probably be deduced from the previous posts but, I just wanted you to know that I`m not...`flaming` (That`s the term, right?) I`m giving an opinion...But, as far as that point goes, you and I agree 100%.
I want to make this clear: For once I`m not bringing anyone down or agreeing with anyone else. GoalieJerry is (In my eyes, of course) just as wrong as EstiloPanama, despite their arguments being polar opposites.
GoalieJerry is glorifying war and guns for war, while EstiloPanama is saying that guns are the catalyst which turned our nation wayward.
What I -am- saying is that blaming a tool which has no mind of it`s own for the state of the country is like blaming yonder Elm tree for you contracting herpes.
And, using a tool of destruction against a fellow man is even worse.
Anywho, in short (Which this has been aything but) if it wasn`t guns and bombs killing people, it would be swords and knives, and if it wasn`t swords and knives it`d be rocks and sticks...
So, yeah. Go...Us.
We`ve forgetten our values and we`ve forgotten what we stand for. A free country. A country where we should be free to do as we please as long as it doesn`t disrupt our neighbors. But, no. We`ve got gangs in cities who do what they please, corrupt law-enforcement, corrupt politics, corrupt leaders.
No wonder we`re where we are.
But, it all boils down to you. To me. To the invidual, who instead of standing up and saying this is wrong, saying..This isn`t what I stand for. We sit. We complain. We say how it should be, observe how it could be.
We are the disease, we are the problem. And until we start forging our own little paths the corrupt officials will be blazing our trails for us...
We`re so concerned about us as individuals. Cosmically. We`re nothing. We`re a tiny fleck of debris which means exactly nothing.
And the sooner people accept that they`re nothing the sooner they can accept the fact that their neighbors are nothing and the sooner we can all take solace in the fact that we mean dick. We`re all the same.
Bush does suck, but to blame everything on him is pointless. Do you know why Bush sucks so hard? Because he`s a politician who thinks he means more than anyone else.
But, the next one is going to be just as bad. Maybe worse.
Worse? Yes, of course. This one may be smart, And able to get away with the crap he`ll do.
You people are the reason the country is going to sh*t, not guns. (And by you people, yes, I mean myself, too.)
We`ve allowed the country to become the sesspool it is to-day, not guns..
As for European countries being ran by Germans or Russians if there were no guns...That makes no sense...Because, of course the invasion wouldn`t have happened or it would have happened with sticks and stones instead of explosions and flying lead.
The country is a piece of sh*t right now for several reasons, the biggest of which I believe is our economy.
Think of it this way.
Does any professional athelete need to make several million dollars a year?
How about an Actor/actress?Doctor? Politician?
No, of course they don`t. America needs a salary cap, the rest of the proceeds being funneled into health-care and the likes.
"Where did they get one of those???" You make it sound like it`s a tomahawk missile.
Amazing how Europeans get scared of guns once they`ve had them taken away. Wonder if it`s because having your guns taken away means every time you see one, it`s being pointed at you.
And IseeIsee...trust me...America is NOT self-reliant. America right now is on Idiot Mode. Americans and Guns do not mix, only because most Americans are complete retards born out of the wombs of drug addicts and mothers, rich and poor, who failed to properly use some type of contraceptive while having sex on the lawn of their local church after hours.
But the whipped cream on this nasty jello dessert known as America is President Bush. America sucks right now.
What I appreciate about America are most of the young and old men and women serving in the Armed Forces, who work hard and risk their lives to keep all you wanna-be gun carrying citizens safe.
And by the way, most Americans on this thread who post regularly usually represent exactly what America is right now, a piece of sh*t.
Meh . . . ribbidy glib.
"Stop! or I will shout Stop again! That`s Scandinavian style."That must be the scandinavian police motto.
The anti-gun attitude speaks to a fundemental difference between the self-reliant American and the government dependant European. Over here, we trust ourselves to care for ourselves. Over there, you hope someone else will keep you safe.
But seriously, other than the title of the thread, how do we know she was drunk? She may have been, or she could have been nervous. If she was drunk, that was real dumb, if she wasn`t, those guys were mean. I think it did hit her in the head...
For all your anti-american sentiment, just remember, without the US and our GUNS, you`d be speaking either GERMAN or RUSSIAN right now.
I mean...Haven`t you ever heard of a Desert Eagle?Granted, this wasn`t one, being a revolver.
But, this is a perfect example of guns not being a problem. People are the problem.
Any red-neck idiot that thinks fire-arms and alcohol mix in any situation...(besides a bartender keeping a sawed-off beneath a bar) is not acceptable.
I was taught from a young age to simply respect firearms. Taught that even a gun you -know-, absolutely positively sure is unloaded...is still loaded.
And haven`t shot anyone accidently to date.Or, purposely for that matter.
