Whenever the number on a disc matches the size of the column that disc is in, it disappears. It"s all numbers and logic.

I am totally in love with this game...

At the end of some rounds you get these errors... they dont interupt the game or anything but they include the programmers comments and they have been geting funnier and funnier as you go along. So far its been kind of light chit chat about how neat some function or routine is. I cant figure out if they are doing this on purpose or not. The first few really looked like ligit programmer comments.

I just got a new high score for myself at about 429,000 and I got the best one yet!

Oh hell.

I just lost an hour playing this game and reading up on the story on the Despoiler Wiki.

What`s worse is that I`m really close to the billboard in Minneapolis, but I really don`t have the time to look for it.

The purple 7 is just like that long piece that you always want in tetris, and then shows up at the wrong time :-P.
Cool game though.

Oh, and it`s also worth noting: there are currently 8 discovered shutdown keys out of an eventual twelve. The Chain Factor website will supposedly shut itself down when 12 different-IP machines submit all 12 shutdown keys are the same time.

Haha, the weirdness of the error messages is because this game is actually produced by CBS, based on a recent episode of their show Numb3rs in which the villain is a character named Specter (the /s in the error messages) who wanted to merge the gaming world with the commercial world, link everybody, and (if I recall) make the government ineffective, making their corporation the new world order. This website is Specter`s evil plan in action.

This is why the "error message" conversations are what they are, and why the puzzles containing the codes to unlock new powerups are hidden in mass marketing locations, such as billboards and banner ads on various websites. See the FAQ for more info on that.

Wiki explaining the powerups, code puzzles, and listing all the error messages: http://chainfactor.despoiler.org/

It`s a good game on its own, but even more intriguing to me when you understand the behind-the-scenes stor

* s, i don’t understand why we are collecting scores at this
* point. do we collect high scores only or every score?

* I want all the scores added to Table A, not just high scores
* don’t worry about it, I’ll tell you why later.
* /s

this is a terrific game! You really have to think hard about every drop and learn to take care of the board or it will fill up with low numbers. thanks for posting it.

my best score is 425,000 in survival mode.

Hmm .. probably needs more thought to get higher scores and make chains. I realised too late that I`d made too many superfluous drops, gaining only 10 pts a go, when I should have been thinking it though to make a chain.

Interesting game.

WEIRD message after score 112,113, with the "error"- code in red rectangle:

ERROR 003

LEVEL 3 / CODE NNN

* UPPER BOUND FOR BASIC SCORES?
* ok i`ve got to stop playtesting and start coding. i`m starting to see
* colored discs everywhere i look. do we know the upper limit on
* basic mode scoring? i`m thinking about memory allocation...
* -F

* No we don`t. Figuring that out is the players` job.
*
* Here`s another to do: find someone in the Minneapolis area to check
* on the OOH which should be up: 494 and hwy 77 - might need some
* searching around.

qutie easy to understand
unfotunately.....the rules are`nt inside the game

basically where you have a 6 disc you have to make a row or a column with that exact number and then it disappears.
for Grey discs you need to elimanate two adjacent discs and then it reveals a number...
now does anyone know how to get the secret powers?
