I was expecting a full-speed train making havoc, yet I found it quite amusing when the nonchalant crowd went on life as usual as soon as it left.

well its definitely not India. The people look like Chinese. Probably Vietnam/Myanmar/Cambodia/Laos/Thailand or a country around that region.

Umm... If they don`t use any type of warning, someone could always keep their ear to the rail.

what if you couldn`t find a place to hide in time?
You`d better be able to out-run it

i saw a documentary about this once. can`t remember where it is exactly but the reason for this is that the land where the railroad is going is free for anyone while everywhere else you have to own the property. that is why all the poor people (and there are lots of them) live in slums all the way along the track.

The train could stop at the market and people can buy things from their window =D

People probably get hit by trains in situations like that all the time and it`s like a normal-ish thing.. but no, where I live, some drunk guy got hit by a train and there was a helicopter and every sheriff in town, plus 2 firetrucks, and a commuter train that was stopped for 4 hours

stupid.
I respect the people in [that was India, right?] who live their life like that every day.
