The human handprint in the 100 million year old stone proves one of these things

    1. Timetravels are a55holes who dont understand the butterfly effect.
    2. Scientists are wrong with the datings.
    3. Humans have existed for that long

I think its number 2...So if they`re wrong with this stone; how can you trust them to be right with other things?

I was about to say kinda the same thing..
I think the scientists are wrong, either, in the forumulae used to judge these things, or they were just dated by idiots.

The scientists aren`t dating the objects themselves, they`re dating the rocks the objects were found in.

Ex. they found a dinosaur bone in this rock... and in the same aged rock they found a metal bowl. Ergo it`s f*ckin old ass bowl!

Here are some simple copy & paste for you skeptics. I got these info from Wikipedia, so to trust it or not is entirely your choice.

Grooved (Klerksdorp) Sphere: Cairncross (1988) and Heinrich (1997, 2007), who have personally studied these objects, have argued that these objects are not manufactured, but the result of natural processes.

Dropa Sphere: All that exists of the supposed alien disks are several wide-angle photographs. The disks photographed, firstly, do not match the described "30 cm disks"; the disks photographed are very large. Secondly, the photos show none of the supposed deep grooves. Finally, absolutely no photos, descriptions, analyses or any other evidence of the actual `alien script` appear anywhere at all.

Ica Stone: Spanish investigator Vicente Paris, after four years of investigation, offered in 1998 new evidence that supports that the stones are a hoax. Among the proofs presented by this investigator were microphotographs of the stones that showed traces of modern paints and sandpaper. The most obvious evidence of fraud, of course, is the fact that the shallow engravings are so crisp. If they were as old as claimed, then there should be substantial erosion of the surfaces

The Antikythera mechanism, a geared device manufactured ca. 100 BCE, believed to be a device for predicting the motion of the sun, moon and planets i.e. an orrery.

Coso Artifact: Mrs. Maxey failed to provide either any specific information or verifiable citation about either the dating technique or evidence used in calculating either date. The 500,000 BP date is based only on the opinion of an anonymous "geologist" as repeated second hand by the people, who discovered this artifact. Neither the identity, credentials, nor expertise of this "geologist", from which this opinion came is known. It is not even known if he or she was a real geologist or even exist outside some person`s imagination. As a result this date is meaningless because nothing is known about how this date was arrived at.

    Impossible fossils:

.For more info, look for `out of place artifacts` in Wikipedia.

yeah, im with what people are saying, there are 3 possibilities:

    1) time travel is possible, and people are forgetful about where they leave objects
    2) aliens have visted the planet countless number of times and will eventually come back when they think we have advanced ourselves enough
    3) the ancient civilizations were actually quite advanced, but the humans that destroyed said civilizations were greedy bastards who were stupid and didnt understand.

Why can there not be aliens after all the Universe (bad speller sorry) is way to big to think we are he only itellagent monkies in it. The world has been here how many billion years and our recored history only goes back a couple thousand years (kinda big gaps here and there) so there could be many options,

    1. Aliens
    2. another race before dinosaurs
    3. some of those things could be natural (hey it could happen)
    4. it is all a hoax and humans are just a bunch of stupid monkies that will believe anything another monkey tells them.(after all we do have GODS and they are just some another monkey told us was there)

So are we just stupid monkies are is it something else you choose because I do not think there is a wrong answer to all of this it is just what you choose is right.

    Forth option:

As a race we are good at spotting patterns where there are none. The handprint looks vaguely human. Look closer and it`s a pretty wierd shape - it could have been caused by anything, but as human`s we see something human!

The battery and the gears could well have been exactly as described. The idea that new technology is progress and should be shared around is a modern one. In the past new technology was considered frightening and possibly witchcraft - a very good reason to keep a clever new idea - such as electricity - hidden.

Others things on the list have already been described here as hoaxes and natural phenomena.

As for the big balls. Well they sum it up really. The whole thing is a big pile of balls.

I think the simplest explanation is probably the right one - somehow a lot of these "artifacts" simply got incorporated into age old rock/coal but are, in fact, modern.

It makes a lot more sense than aliens or time travel or that humans once knew how to make a copper pot and somehow forgot or whatever unlikely scenario that UFOists come up with.

Wow, i can see everyones point of view and with all that being said it only goes to show that the older we get the less intelligent we get!
and that humans will beleive anything!
Reguardless if the facts are right or wrong someone was smart enought to make what they made and store it in a way most of us now can`t wrap our heads around!
The time it took to make some of this stuff and to even think of it! I`m sure help was offerd... I just think we as humans keep killing our selfs off and only little things get left behind! talk about a circle!! What about the BC who/how can we show proof that it was even there! why not ever x amount of years it gets circled back to "BC" because we are to stupid to remember what happend!
Hell this could go on in more then just that aspect and that isn`t even on a scale! can you just imagine that!@

the costa rica balls aren`t perfectly sphirical. There was a discovery special done on them where they had someone make one using the technology that they had back then (a rock hitting another rock) and then they used a 3d mapping lazer type thing... i forgot what its called, but its used in landscaping... either way they used it to check if it was sphirical and it wasn`t. none of them were.

That article is complete BS. I know because I made all those artifacts out of paper clips and nail polish, then traveled back in time in my souped-up Ford Pinto and planted them in the right place so they could be discovered by the 20th century.

I find the forbidden archaeology stuff fascinating, because im very interested in archaeology. I think that some of this stuff could be real- its perfectly believable that our ancestors were more capable of making technology than we believed.
The stuff that dates from before humands existed is more weird though - either aliens came before man kind existed and left this stuff or mankind existed earlier than we believe, in the pre dinosaur times died out, then re-evolved again later on.
I think the dating techniques used are usually pretty reliable but some objects - such as metal - are a lot harder to date

i think they are wrong with their time dating. they easiest civilization to obliterate is a technologicle one. there are plenty of peaple who know what a car is but cannot build one from scratch. so i think that we are constantly reaching a peak then some natural disaster happens and we have to star all over.

O.k., for the Alien argument, ask any scientist, they`ll tell you that there is a good possibility, that there are aliens out there, think of it this way, there’s 8 (9 if you include Pluto) planets in our solar system, look at all the millions of stars that are visible from our earth and imagine if each of them had 8 planets, then our galaxy is one of several billion in the universe, chances are, we`re not the only ones here, even if aliens have the means to travel through space would they really travel hundreds to billions of light years, just to mess with us?

Secondly the people saying that these things have been dated wrong, im not disagreeing with you, but the methods of dating rocks is pretty sure fire.

The most likely explanation is just a coincidence of nature, look at how complex and coincidental any life forms existence is, and how all our organs rely on each other to keep us alive, now compared to that, is it really so unbelievable that spheres turn up with markings

i beleive in aliens, and aliens created the human, and the first humans called those aliens "god". But aliens don`t want to interfere with their creation. Humans cannot see the aliens so human conclude that these aliens don`t exist.

preface: im not in any way arguing for or against any religion or lack there of.

but this logic isnt any better than the "stubborn, close minded" manner they accuse religions of.
"we found a human hand in a fossil. but we say the fossil was over 1 million years old! there MUST have been humans back then, because we said so!"
is not much different than "there is no such thing as evolution because the Bible says so! there MUST have been a creation!"
both of them start with one belief, and assume other things using information from that belief.

Good to see I`m not the only here one scanning the horizon (with my sniper rifle) for young-earth creationists who are drawn to this kind of bunk like flies around $hite.

Having said that, most of the children (13-17 years old) on here seem drawn to the aliens/time travel hypothesis. Equally idiotic as young-earth creationism, but without the agenda. You know what I mean.

Dating methods are based on 3 unprovable and questionable assumptions:

    1) That the rate of decay has been constant throughout time.
2). That the isotope abundances in the specimen dated have not been altered during its history by addition or removal of either parent or daughter isotopes
    3) That when the rock first formed it contained a known amount of daughter material
("Radioisotopes and the age of the earth" pg v)

yes, it`s an article written by a creation-ist, but it gives more food for thought on the whole "Scientific Dating Methods are innacurate" theories becuase it gives evidence and then it cites the source. Many of them are articles published in Scientific journals.

Remember, everyone, take it all with a grain of salt. In one hundred years our great great grandchildren will be laughing at us for things that we

So that means I can take a 2006 US Quarter, put it in 500 million year old dirt, and say it was time travel?

See, this is where you`re going wrong in your assumption that geological dating techniques are potentially flawed.

There is no debate among the respected, well-published, peer-reviewed scientific community that any of this creationist bull$hite has any scientific merit whatsoever. Don`t talk about "articles published in Scientific journals".

When one (just one! I`m holding my breath here!) is published in Nature, Science, or any one of hundred other international, respected scientific Journals (e.g. Geology, Proceedings of the Royal Academy, take your pick), then I`ll start to take it seriously.

I could write an article on the Tooth Fairy and have it published in a so-called "Scientific Journal". I`d probably be given a podium on Wouldn`t make it right though.

    Wise up, wanker.

"hmmmmm, i was taken aback slighty by the scale of this before i reached comments...and all the small minded people screaming `faaake!` like they have proof"

You are a child, and you argue like one. Research each topic for more than 2 minutes and you can find that a) their originating sources are unreliable b) most of them have already been proven fictitious, so we don`t have to.

retards believing in aliens and god, and not trying to explain the unexplainable.

people who are dumb enough to use religion and aliens to explain things are simply ignorant and retarded. They are the people who are slowing down our evolution.

not that i can do anything about it
and also i also believe in aliens but i just dont like how people use them to explain everything

just because you believe differently than I do doesn`t neccesarily make me wrong. If you think like that, then you need a reality check

What if I were to say something along the lines of
Dumbasses, not believing in God when there is so much evidence out there. But I guess it`s your immortal soul that`s at stake so be stupid with it all you want...

pushing the fact that you don`t believe in God or Aliums on everyone else is as bad as them showing up at your door and pushing God and Aliums on you.

    you just blew my mind...
    a) there are time machines in the future
    b) we have had alien visitors on this planet loong time ago
    c) scientists are not very meticulous about their dating methods
    in which case...
my mind is still amazed at this...

queen, even though the carbon14 method is relativly acurate it can make mistakes its always + / - couple thousand years.
The imposible Fosills do not nes. a human hand prind lots of animals have human like paws, so it is more like to have been an animal, as humans used to be a lot smaller 1000s of years ago, the groved sphere also coud ave been by nature, infact the fact that it is so symetric sounds more like water making it round than humans.
The science might not be able to proove everything but with a lit of bit of logic, i am pretty sure it could proove at least 50% of those were fakes.

oh and broadway love... EVIDENCE of GOD is an OXIMORON

I`m not actually being serious when I say this, but who`s to say that there wasn`t intelligent humans already, billions of years ago, that weren`t wiped out by some sort of pandemic or global crisis?

The Costa Rican stone balls were made by an indigenous group that is related to the Bribri tribe of Costa Rica. My husband is actually a decendant of this tribe! And there is really no way to tell if they are perfectly spherical because the balls have been eroded by the environment over the years.

Good point kk30 It`s one of those things that you either believe or you don`t

I was just saying it to make a point cuz had I seriously made that statement, lunatics would have been all over me about pushing my beliefs on others etc etc etc.

I`m making no arguments for or against anything.

Why is everyone sayin the same 3 things and not taking into account that this could all have been proven fake or already found to be something explainable?

What the Hell would aliens want from us? I mean, the whole anal-probe-situation might be enticing, but is it worth using that much fuel to drive here? Anyways, most of it is bullshiat, and God dropped dinosaur skeletons onto the world. Questions, children?
