The bashing is useless. And remember, if you want to use television personalities to judge a nation and it`s people, I`m sure we can look up some of yours to evaluate your intelligence as well.
I should not have laughed at that nearly as hard as I did . . .although, I was thinking the smae thing, please don`t eat me Star Jones V2.0
"watch our show you are our slaves""watch our show you are our slaves""watch our show you are our slaves"
HOWEVER! However, there is one exception to the whole "don`t be sure thing": North Dakota is still just a myth. If you believe in North Dakota, you`ve got to be some ignorant, sub-mediocre bag of flaming interstellar dog waste. Thank you for your time.
You stole that from the youtube comments...
The world isn`t flat! its a pear! a giant pear where life developed. (aka we are all mold, and mold is moldy mold)==========================================Somebody got an `A` in philosophy.
But I don`t think this is i-a-b material.
What does this clip have to do with religion? Sure, many Christians thought the world was flat, but does that really have to do with religion?
Every person who read the bible 500 years ago really thought god made everything in a week. Now you ask people who`ve read it or know the story, and each day was so many millions of years and the creation story was one big metaphor.
But of course there`s still your people who believe the earth is barely 10,000 years old and everything really was created in a week.
I could have swore the bible was "the word of god". I didn`t specifically mean he picked up a pen and wrote a chapter, I meant he`s the direct inspiration (i.e. "god said this is how it is") behind quite a few parts.
Him telling someone to write something is just as good as him writing it, isn`t it?
there are no parts of the bible believed to have been written by God or Jesus. Before you Christian Bash, know a bit about what you`re talking about.
everyone chooses what to believe in. God, Angels, Fairies, Nothing, or the flying spaghetti monster, it`s their choice.
You have no proof that you are right, I have no proof that I am right. So let`s just agree to disagree and sing hippie songs.
And only in Europe will you find dickwads like this whos only posts are Anti-American.
I also didn`t expect this discussion would last this long.
Shows how much I know...
While I respect everyone`s "opinion" on Science/Evidence and all that, I think we should respect everyone`s views. Having said that, I must let you know that it has been revealed to me personally that:
1. The earth is flat2. The sun, moon and stars all rotate around the earth3. The earth and everything in it was made for the sole purpose of man4. Man, by the way, was made from a lump of clay5. Woman, on the other hand, was made from one of Man`s ribs, surgically removed from his abdomen6. All this was all created at the outset by the great unreachable, unknowable Sky Fairy
I`ve got proof, I read it in a book somewhere. And it is a reliable source, because it was written by lots of different scholars, all of whom were personally inspired by the Sky Fairy. Hold on, I`ve got it here somewhere...
*leafs through section labelled "Fiction"*
Pretty embarrasing how people take this as an oppurtunity to potshot people`s religios beliefs though.
When irrelegious people start mocking religious people then they loose respect and are mocked in return. Gorram vicious cycle. When will people learn to say "Ok, that`s your belief. It may be ignorant, but one day you`ll learn" ?
Actually they didnt, the round earth was a popular view amongst Arab peoples from around 300bc IIRC (also the Chinese IIRC), though possibly later, but before 1AD anyway.
This is apparently due to thier huge trade route, the silk road, the fact that they travelled over the horizon disproved the flat earth theory.
It was also apparently less common in europe than is made out though im not sure of that.
And lastly the alien race seedong our planet is a somewhat plausable explanation, it is already discussed by many scholars as a possible origin, though not in the manner I think you are implying.
And i agree with the first part. You should be open-minded enough to acknowledge the possibility that God created something and used the laws of evolution (which he would have also created) to multiple the number of species that exists. And I like to add that there is still a possibility that God is in fact an alien race that seeded us on this planet. (I love science-fiction)
What about the parts written by the big man?
And then it comes back around to the parts written by the infallible man were written because of idea, not fact. So how can anything written by them be taken literally?
A longer clip, since Piu`s links were removed for TOS.
No, the people who wrote the bible actually thought it was flat. Everyone did back then.
But you know, since we know the world is round, all that "ends of the earth" jibba jabba was obviously purely metaphorical.
Did you see the look on Whoopi`s face? She looked like she was ready to smack that woman!
The world is not perfectly round, but i guess i`m nitpicking.
i do hope they didnt
you sounded awful smart tho -_^
"The world is flat." by Thomas Friedman. It has to do with economics and the increasingly globalization of the world. That is what Woopi is refferring too.
Check it out, get informed. Sure the clip taken out of context is hilarious. But it gets old after it`s been done over and over and over again (and people fall for it again and again)...READ MORE.
Or globes, as it is.
Oh and, I believe the world is round, since I have not been in space, and have not gone around the world, I accept someone if they believe otherwise.
I don`t call conspiracy theorists stupid. I call people who think conspiracy theorists stupid close-minded.
I support people who don`t believe everything they`re told is fact, whether I agree with them or not.
these people do not belong on television.
how did women get their own show?!?!
oh and that one was dumb, btw
Anyway... Now that they mentionated it, i haven´t think about it myself... ¬¬
