That really is cool! It`s like an idea someone in, like, a cartoon would have... Don`t know why it makes me think that.

Back then they built false cities on top of airfields to avoid attack. (Way cool)

Today we allow reporters past the lines to give out coordinates on national and international television.

Yeah, the Japanese win by default.

Thecranberry... hindsight is 20/20... with all the horrible things happening back then, it was not at all out of the question to fear a bombing of the west coast.

Also, there was on the European battleground a fake infantry at one time... inflatable tanks, etc...

From wikipedia:
Fixed-wing aircraft are called airplanes in North America (the U.S. and Canada), and aeroplanes in Commonwealth countries (other than Canada) and Ireland.

Muirghiel-"wouldn`t enemy scouts - and cartographers, for that matter, wonder where the hell this random city came from?"

Sure, all those enemy Japanese scouts and there cartographers...who you apparently think had a detailed mapping of the US...would have noticed. Uhhh...you do realize how big the US is..right. LOL, sorry that comment was just funny to me. They had no clue what the lay of the US land was..outside of the basics and the well known landmarks/bases. lol

deaf_woman: "It didn`t really work... Japan cleverly altered their tactics, and is now bombing the USA with Toyotas, Hondas, Nissans, Subarus, and Sushi." Japan totally wins.

The mappers might realise it`s not a real city, but any bomber crew flying over at night wouldn`t. This was WW2, they didn`t have laser guidance systems.
