I`ve notice the size thing with other animals too. My boyfriend`s family lives on the east coast and when I go there I`m amazed at the sheer size of animals out there. For instance the fox here are tiny little things compared to out there. He`s always calling ours babies, but they`re fully grown.

I`ve seen doe here in ohio twice the size of that, and they will destroy your car when collided with at 55 mph+ (as will most 200+ pound creatures). I`ve never seen that many deer that small around here.

Drago, I don`t have experience with NY deer, but agree they are quite small compared to IL deer. Anything that size in IL is most likely a yearling. I have seen a few 300+lb field dressed dear in IL.

Oh and Cashcleaner, I`ve never seen a deer farm/ranch here before. If they are in hill country or south texas, deer are seriously EVERYWHERE and people accidentally hit them with their cars all the time.

Yay, Go Texas! But was that really necessary? In any place besides Dallas and Houston the deer are everywhere! You are just encouraging them!

I`m pretty sure this is at a ranch where the deer are raised similar to free-range beef or pork. We`ve got a few deer farms up here in Ontario and the animals are quite tame.

Strangely, you can`t get venison (deer meat) from any grocery stores here. Most of the meat is sent to Europe.

this is like snow white. only snow white is a crazy old couple in texas. and the dwarves are deer. and theyre not in a forest cabin near a jewel mine. and the deer arent singing and dancing.

i counted 13-15 animals. hard to tell with them coming and going and moving in the background. people doing stuf like that makes it easier for other people to hunt the animals. dont read that and think im a animal lover tho. what bothers me is the humans lessoning the fear of the worst predator on the planet in the animals.
