I love the math. Plane scheduled to take off at 1630 EST. Plane took off at 2245 EST. Hate to break it to you but that`s 6 hours, 15 minutes of wait time. Not 7. Silly description

Very clever cmon! This was an OUTRAGE! I am pissed. I feel like suing. Everything about this is wrong, on every level, and I just don`t know how they 1) could be THAT incompetent (ruling out any ulterior agendas which might have caused this), and 2) could expect to get away with this. I`m suing! For the pain and suffering I endured while watching this video! Who`s with me?

i saw someone flopping around on a plane CP style that was stuck in Cleveland for 2 hours. They got him off the plane. (And the rest of us) and he got up and said he was fine. The 40 or so of us thought that was the coolest thing we had ever seen. Moral of the story: If they keep you out there too long, fake a seizure.

Wow, what a nightmare. I hate flying, so I`d be nervous already, and then with this.. :( Why don`t they just let them off the plane for some time and then notify them when they can actually fly? I would hate that.

The worst thing that ever happened to me on a plane was running out of fuel right before we were starting to land. The plane was dead silent and everybody was glued to the windows. As we glided in we were welcomed with the sight of all the fire trucks with their lights going. Boy, that was lots of fun... I hate flying. :-/

I can`t believe people just sat there. Just sat there. After 1 hour I would have demanded off that plane. I would have thrown a drating fit until they let me off. Then I would have found another flight they would pay for.

Dude, I hate sitting anyone near ONE crying baby that let`s out a wail every minute or so, but four? Constantly? I would`ve literally threatened to bomb the plane because jail gives you a roomier cell.

Darth, yeah, it`s not THAT bad, but being in the air for 12 hours, knowing you`re on your way to your destination, is a hell of a lot better than being stuck on the tarmac (not anywhere close to being on your way) for 7 hours before even getting in the air.

I flew Delta twice, both times about 12 years ago. One was from North Carolina to Pittsburgh (before a 6 hour delay and then a ~10 hour flight from there to Frankfurt, Germany), and the other was from Philly to Asheville, NC (return flight). I don`t remember any big problems. However, my brother and I were on a flight stuck on the tarmac for about 2 hours before finally taking off from Orlando, Florida to Atlanta.

I understand being pissed and having no food, etc. But I`ve been on a flight from London to Chicago and that was about 12 hours long. Other than that, I`ve been stuck in a terminal for twelve hours and then endured a ludricrous ten hour flight. Really, this isn`t THAT bad...

OMG...
thankfully I have never been in such a flight...
the worst I`ve had was that the plane arrived 3 hours late to PICK us up...
we had to sleep in the terminal...
[the flight was suppose to leave at 1AM but got there 3 hrs late]
i was never stuck inside a plane waiting...
if i was the poor man i would have run up and down the aisle screaming "im claustrophobic! im claustrophobic!"

"This is exactly why hanhelds are handy. 7 hours would feel alot shorter if you could play some Mario Kart in there!"

That`s what I was thinking. o.0
I always bring my DS anywhere that takes more than 6 minutes to get there.

</3 airports. But this? This would suck big time.

And screaming babies on a flight are a pain in the ass. They should make an airline just for people who have babies so those of us who don`t think little Will`s being "upset" is amusing don`t have to go insane. >.<

never flew with delta before- but i say NEVER FLY IBERIA.

We were going from England to Cuba via Madrid, and not only did they lose our luggage (which we didnt get for a whole week- cuban clothes shops are very few and far between), but we had to wait for 3 hours to go through security. Then on the way back our flight was delayed for 6 hours, and they lost our luggage AGAIN.

But, Cuba was the best holiday ever so.. nevermind.

I was delayed and missed my connecting flight in Chicago once too. Did you know that if it`s weather related they don`t provide a hotel for you? They don`t, you still have to pay. Plus my mom had already left to pick me up at the airport (an hour and a half away from home) only to get there and find out I wasn`t coming home that night so she had to go back home and then back to the airport the next day. And when you`re stuck wherever you`re stuck overnight, they don`t allow you to get your checked baggage either. Luckily I had my toothpaste and toothbrush with me, but now you`re not allowed to have bigger tubes of toothpaste because they violate the liquid rules.

Airlines are a joke and the only reason I still bother is that when I travel I have to go all the way across the damn country and I can`t waste all that time or gas money driving.

My very first flight (at 18) I was stuck on the tarmac for four hours in Dallas. Luckily it was a fairly empty flight so we had room to stretch out and what not. Back then they also had food and drinks on the plane, but I don`t think they gave them to us until after we were in the air. They also wouldn`t let us have our seat backs back or our tray tables down and we had to be buckled in at all times. The attendants were b*tches too and would walk around not letting anyone break the rules.

I had my clothes lost once too. I was going to Philadelphia and my bags ended up in Atlanta... both of them... for three days. They gave me $75 to buy new clothes, thankfully.

Ps this would not happen in Australia...why you may ask? Because, we have people that have a brain`s in their head`s and simply use a thing called common sense. Delta and the airport officals should try it sometime.

Pss remind me never to fly Delta if I can avoid it!

Wow I am suprised that everyone seems so calm and accepting of the situation. Why oh why can someone please explain why they just can not let the passineges off the plane and back to the terminal.

Surely this could/should happen once it becomes clear that there is going to be such a big delay.

I mean hell what if it is a medical emergency or something? Can anyone explain why they just don`t let them off? It would only take about 15-30 minutes to got to a gate etc.

I only fly emirates(KLM sucks) so that never to me IN a plane, but we got delayed for 15 hours because some guy opened the plane door and tried to jump out when they landed.I just find it weird that it took them 15hours to transfer us to another plane, because emirates fly every 5 minutes.
I feel sorry for the guy, 7 hours without food i would have gone nuts.

When will the airlines learn to prioritize flights by wait time? Seriously, why is that so hard for them to figure out? Why are the letting planes that have been sitting for 10 minutes go ahead of a plane sitting for 7 hours?
I recall a time not so long ago that 30 minutes on the tarmac was unusual. WTF happened?

"I am sorry but I would have got off at about the second hour, maybe the third. But 7 HOURS!? No damned way!!"

The video says that the crew refused to allow anyone to return to the terminal. So they`re kind of holding the passengers hostage on the plane.

This is becoming all too common now. I remember the one flight from the big storm on Valentines Day that passengers were stuck on the plane for 12 or so hours. The food ran out. The toilets became full. Moms had to start using t-shirts for diapers because they ran out of the ones they brought on the flight. I thought I heard something about how because this is happening so much now you can sue the airlines for unlawful imprisonment? Not sure just how long is too long but damn you would think the logistics of airline travel would be worked out by now.
