Sure, some will always be "bad" but many, if given the chance, would and COULD change.

the architecture is just beautiful.i`m so jealous. lol.
Nobody give those prisoners stones!
Just in case anyone was wondering.
i agree with marvinius. alot of people here seem to have the wrong idea about prisons
Yet another shining example of the U.S education service. Not only the wrong country, but spelt wrong as well. Excellent work. I think we have a new candidate for President.
I`ve been known to strangle for ping-pong alone.
There is a reason that recidivism is so high in American prisons...
seems more like a locked hotel with visitors once a week!?
Then again, what kind of criminal is good enough for a 5-star prison? Besides, I don`t see any mention or indication of a prison in the photos besides the caption. Can anyone translate the text in front of the building?
@PianoMan21 i would say your father was being rather sarcastic. although we live in the 8th richest country in the world we do not all have living standards that are far above what this prison is looking like. many people live under conditions much worse.
but on the other hand the philosophy behind this was already stated by Winston Chruchill who once said that one of the most unfailing tests of a civilization is how a country treats its criminals.
well i too think that giving someone who has done wrong a chance to build up a new live in a healthy (if seperated) environment is doing more to resocialize the person than sticking him in a dirty rathole and treating him like an animal (like e.g. in the US ;-)).
after all putting criminals away from society is only one part of the plan. you should also work on the resocializing and therefore prisoners get the chance to get an education and integrate into society again.
Yeah, does kinda make u consider committing a crime... :-)
I`d kill 78 people to get in there! I mean, come on, no rent, free health care, a nice view, ping-pong, a TV in my room...
Austrailans cant do anything right...
