Someone at Reuters calls Bush “a mass murderer”
Oh.... That was a lie?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!

Someone from the BBC also changes Bush’s page, changing the name from ”George Walker Bush” to “George Wan*** Bush”
Z0mg! I thought it was Wanker!

Some people I mean really! Bush now went up 3000 notches in my book! He is now at -513. Michael Jackson is still 3.

If they wanted us dead, they wouldn`t have to do anything. In fact by hanging back and doing nothing, we would just fall apart. It`s the evil plotting government that keeps the country together.

yeah and maybe everything is a giant coincidence, maybe everything isn`t a lie, maybe everything this and maybe everything that.

the world doesn`t run on maybes. They run on do`s and don`ts. Now i wasn`t saying ZOMG TEH GOVERNMENTORZ HEV LEID TO US AGAINZ!! OH NOESZZZ!

no, i was simply stating even more evidence that the government could be lying to us, which would always relate back to 9-11.

I`m not going to entirely be confident in what this says...

Some of those are actually quite disturbing...especially about the government and all of that :/

Also, many users like to add trash to Wikipedia, the companies may see it and be like "That..never happened" and no one else would know the truth except the company so the company had the right to remove anything wrong. Right?

I`m sure that`s what happened most of the time.

People working for John Howard (Prime Minister of Australia) have been caught editing Wikipedia. But no one really cares, because on the same day it was released, it was also reported that there are Kevin Rudd (Leader of the Opposition in this Election Year) look a like competitions in strip bars. So all is well and good.

ed or arrested for saying stiff like this.

this really is a tough break that people are lying, but like the paranoid one said, that`s reality. people lie, and cover stuff up, and cheat, and the only thing you can do about it is form your opinion based on SEVERAL sources you can trust, and not some online bulletin board like wikipedia. in my opinion, wikipedia is to public, but hey, too bad, it`s a person`s right to make websites like these, and you don`t have to listen to them if you don`t want.don`t assume that just because a certain ebsite turns out to be filled with fraud that everyone is out to get you.you may call me ignorant, and I`ll call you paranoid,it`s our right to say what we want. But if you need some conformation that the government wants us all dead, here`s a thought. If they wanted us dead, they wouldn`t have to do anything. In fact by hanging back and doing nothing, we would just fall apart. It`s the evil plotting government that keeps the country together.

wow, thats actually really terrible. look at the world. look at how everyone manipulates all information on rivals, of the world, politics, buisnesses, how much of it is truth? how much is a lie? and goverments too... How much has been changed? and it can`t just be wikipedia, who says they aren`t corrupting the truth on news channels, in the newspapers, on their own sites?
I feel, somewhat violated at learning this.

Your governments do lie to you

9-11 may be much more then you think.

I feel like saying "Welcome to the Real World"
but how much exactly is real?

oh, you conspirators are so cute. Don`t put so much thought into this, Wikipedia is not the best reference to the entire media. not everyone lies to you, and as strange as it sounds, the government may not be evil after all. Maybe Rich people aren`t keeping people down to boost their profits. You should be happy that you live in a country that doesn`t have you kill

but wikipedia already tracks changes somone makes. i learned this when i edited a bunch of pages and then went back the next day and checked the history, it let you see the difference between two edits (like what line was fixed) so i figured out who edited out my edits through it. i think it had the I.P. or username of the editor too.

it really irritates me that some people aren`t find this serious. So you don`t know certain things have their own IP address, does that mean they don`t? You don`t realize your being lied to, plain and simple. Lies are lies, and smaller lies just lead to bigger lies, and your just ignorant not to believe it.

this is the real world. true, you will be lied to at any rate. some say its for our own good, but does our own good really matter when we have no choice? this isn`t a laughing matter, this isn`t some joke thing, or some little thing that`ll blow over, this is something serious.

I`m usually very open on things, religion? no big deal, even people who think bush is a good human being, alright fine. you have your reasons, im not in existance to argue with you over whether i think your right or wrong. But this isn`t something you can argue. Being lied to is not ok, in any way shape or form, and when its the government lying, we have a serious problem.

Just think about it.

Kaizer: At least this teaches us to not believe everything we read.

We have a word for this in my language, we`re taught this in basic school. It means "Being critical of the source material" I.E. question the source, who wrote it, who ruled at the time, who was in office, what was the socio-political situation at the time, why was it written etc. etc.
This is basic school material.

You think political and corporations are the only "victims" here? Try the gaming world:

An IP address owned by the Entertainment Software Association had tweaked the entry for mod chips, as well as Abandonware site Home of the Underdogs. The mod chip edit truncated a section describing the legality of mod chips in the US as "ambiguous," instead flatly stating that they are illegal because of the Digital Millenium Copyright Act. The omitted text also mentioned the creation of mod chips that would allow users to play legally purchased imported games, but still prevent the use of pirated, burned game discs. In the Home of the Underdogs entry`s case, a reference to the site`s "illustrious career" was simply changed to read "illegal career."

TomSFox - The point isn`t that wikipedia isn`t accurate (we all -should- know that by now) The point is the extent to which corperations and governments manipulate the data we see.
Deleting whole paragraphs of critism is not writing anything true, its just a quick cover.

You know, most people forget some things:
Just because someone changes a Wikipedia article, it doesn`t mean it becomes wrong.
If what they write is true, then it`s okay.
That`s the whole point of Wikipedia, you know.
And another thing Wikipedia-is-not-reliable ignorants don`t want to know is, just because you can edit the articles, it doesn`t mean noone checks them.
Wikipedia actually has strict rules.
You have to cite sources, for example.
And if an article doesn`t meet the standards, it gets marked, edited or deleted.
And lastly, there are articles, that can NOT be edited by anyone!

i dunno. doesn`t seem legit

i wanna see the source code.
because, how can something like "US Republican Party" be there? that`s a... really, really, unspecific branding of a large portion of the united states population. I dunno if the party has a headquarters or something, but what about edits done from houses?

and what about proxy servers?
i still wanna see the source code.
