Rich, the CEO may have done something stupid, but they still have no legal leverage. Take-off and arrival times aren`t meaningless, they say when a company thinks they`ll take off and land, and if that company consistently delays their flights, that business will do poorly. Just because one stupid couple didn`t plan well and missed their stupid concert doesn`t give them the power to demand a refund. Did he react rudely to their harassment? yes. It`s his right to do so. It wasn`t meant for public viewing, but now it`s out in the open, and the couple is still harassing them. Spirit owes them nothing more than an apology, and if you were money-wise, you would continue to use their services when you need a cheap trip unless they start pulling stuff like this more often.

Why did the customer try to get reimbursed? If they delayed it there was probably a good reason. And they were stupid in the first place by not booking a flight AHEAD of time like everyone else. As for that Baldanza fellow I only have this to say.

Lol noob get off the internets.

Pabasa said: Who invented the `reply to all` button anyway? Dunno who might use em, but I reply to each of my emails individually not the same reply to several different people...

You must not work in an office. I use the Reply to all button quite regularly, when more than two people are involved in the conversation. It is a waste of time for everyone involved in a conversation between 3 engineers, production, the sales manager, and tech support regarding how a recent bug discovery is going to delay manufacturing, and the impact on the customers, ETA of final product, so on. Reply to All is a very useful tool.

I searched for our CEO. I was very happy to not find him.

I would rather my flight got delayed and everything was checked out properly. What about the rest of the passengers that had to wait? Don`t you think they had better things to do also. It`s not airline`s fault that this dude can`t plan accordingly. Just because the CEO might be a douche it still doesn`t make the airlines responsible. They`re responsible for getting you from point A to point B safely.

This isn`t about compensation for bad planning. This is more about the company CEO being a dick beyond comparison and pretty much telling everyone how he doesn`t give a sh*t about the customer; he thinks they are sheep and will be back no matter what.

The point was really more the CEO`s disrespectfulness to them. He could have calmly explained that the ticket states that in event of delays, the airplane is responsible for just getting them there as soon as possible. Should they have planned for an earlier arrival time? Probably. It doesn`t give the CEO a right to be so mean.

Liquid Glass,
So you`re basically saying that take-off and arrival times are completely meaningless. If so, why bother to post them? If a business says they are going to do something and they don`t do it, I`d say that`s a problem.

Even if the delay is due to weather or some other uncontrollable circumstance, the CEO of the company should not have so little respect for their customers.

Sad thing is the couple probably doesn`t have an legal recourse anyway. Most tickets have fine print stating that in the event of a delay the airline is only responsible for getting the passenger to his/her destination as early as possible. And since discount airlines offers no refunds (that is also in the fine print) the couple got what they paid for.

And if I`m ever back on the mainland again and they have the best rates, I`m going to travel with Spirit. I unlike this couple understand that if I have to be at point A in city X by 8pm I will arrange a flight to get me to city X by noon, if not earlier (like the day before).

I never even heard of Spirit Airlines, I hoped this was about Sprint and their gayness. i don`t like any of the cell phone companies because none truly offer the best reception. i live in an urban area and i have verizon and my cell phone reception SUCKS. if i have 2 bars im lucky.

flight delays have to be factored in; if i were those people the concert wouldnt have been the day of or even the day after the flight.

if you really want to get there buy your own damn jet or rent one where you and your people are the only ones flying. the bigshots do it and if you only fly once in a while it may cost a little more but its still wayyy better than flying first class on a plane full of lots of people!

It is good to see him actually saying what he`s thinking.

What mistake Rich? The arrival/departure time is an estimate. The airline can`t help if there`s a disgruntled customer that has to be taken off of a plane or security check point takes longer than it should, next you`ll be expecting them to stop storms so they can keep their "promise." Also to say he has a slack attitude probably means that he`s gotten tired of their antics. You have to know both sides of the story especially in correspondence

I`m surprised at the number of comments that are favorable to the CEO in the linked article. The airline made a mistake; they promised something to the customer and didn`t deliver. Based on the CEO`s slack attitude towards the situation, I wouldn`t want to fly with Spirit.

And Ia gree with phinphan. You only bought the flight tickets, you didn`t make an agreement with the airline that you are on the flight so that you can go to a concert. Only a fool buys tickets without preparing for any flight delays.

"grand total of a company crippling $376.84"

$376?! We`ll have to file for bankruptcy! Who could possibly afford such a large sum?!

I would prefer this to being lied to and treated with corporate mandated respect by any other company in America. To any buisness a person is just something to get money from; I find it refreshing to see a bit of honesty, intentional or not.
