The ironic thing is that when hamburgers were first invented, no one liked eating them because they were basically considered a health hazard. People believed that they were full of unhealthy chemicals, and that only poor people ate them because it was all they could afford. The first thing that Mcdonald`s sold? Burgers.

Anyway, what kind of parents feed their 3 year old McDonalds once a week?

Hmm, I`ve always hated McDonalds for some reason... Probably the clown. Damn clown.

People are obese because the unhealthy foods are the cheapest, easy to obtain, and tasty. Which does also explain why poor people are often overweight.

"3 to 5 year olds?!?

I never had even tasted meat or sugar during those ages. What`s wrong with America?!"

Yeah I agree. Well yes, I DID eat meat and sugar when I was 5, probably (how should I remember?! 0.0). But not like, fast food. I ate the home-cooked food my parents gave me. Why the hell would you give a 3 year old MCDONALDS?? You tell me.

"Further research revealed that one-third of the children ate at McDonald`s more than once a week, and more than three-quarters had McDonald`s toys at home. In addition, the children in the study had an average of 2.4 televisions in their homes. More than half the kids had a TV in their bedrooms."

Spoiled little peckers.

But do the parents give the kids FREE TOYS?!?!?!
I`m sure if they gave the kid a meal at home with a toy, they`d like it more...
but seriously...people are always gonna want mcdonald`s because it`s cheap and easy. makes no difference.

I didn`t have to sign up...

I think that this test was faulty. They should have used other foods, like Burger King, Dairy Queen, or a home made burger and put it in the McDonalds wrappers, and then a McDonald burger in an unmarked wrapper. That would have been more interesting and more accurate.

Wow this is sad, I wonder if it just from eating at McDonalds all the time or whether its from product placement and commercials.

an intelligent person i-a-b?
Dakkar, you`re a minority.

if you don`t like it, don`t eat it. if you don`t eat it, don`t tell people how bad it is to eat it, because you surely dont know.

Its true McDonald`s is not the sole cause of obesity. At least not in the sense health nazis want you to believe.

If you eat there constantly, chances are you will put on the pounds. But is that you`re fault or McDonalds` fault? People are capable enough of making their own decisions and should be trusted to do so. The world got along fine in the past with fast food, granted times were different, but that is hardly an excuse.

You can probably make an argument to have McDonald`s shoulder some of the blame. But at the end of the day its parents and people making poor choices who buy this regularly and cause obesity.

People may not remember how to, but its pretty easy to take out some pots and pans and make an easy home-cooked meal. I do it nearly everyday.

this explains why people think McDonalds fries are better than other fries. Seriously people, it`s the same fries.

And yes, McDonalds is an evil megacorporation, selling expensive crap food to obese morons (and their children)

Not signing up.

It`s a bunch of kids getting crappy food so when they see it`s from McDonalds they think it`s good since it`s familiar? Maybe.. but little kids are stupid like that, give them genuine rice crispies and they`ll like it but you give them generic and they won`t touch it.

Stupid children.

The only results not statistically clear-cut involved the hamburgers, with 29 kids choosing McDonald`s-wrapped burgers and 22 choosing the unmarked ones.

Fewer than one-fourth of the children said both samples of all foods tasted the same.

Just two of the 63 children studied said they had never eaten at McDonald`s, and about one-third ate there at least weekly. Most recognized the McDonald`s logo and it was mentioned to those who did not.

The study included three McDonald`s menu items - hamburgers, chicken nuggets and french fries - and store-bought milk or juice and carrots. Children got two identical samples of each food on a tray, one in McDonald`s wrappers or cups and the other in plain, unmarked packaging. The kids were asked if they tasted the same or if one was better. (Some children didn`t taste all the foods.)

McDonald`s-labeled samples were the clear favorites. French fries were the biggest winner; almost 77 percent said the labeled fries tasted best while only 13 percent preferred the others.

Fifty-four percent preferred McDonald`s-wrapped carrots vs. 23 percent who liked the plain-wrapped sample.

The only results not statistically clear-cut involved the hamburgers, with 29 kids choosing McDonald`s-wra
