SHOULD HAVE A LABEL THAT SAYS..
"NOT RECOMMENDED THAT IDIOTS USE THIS DEVICE"
I prefer my songs on disks.
-------------------------------------------------That`s what I was thinking, I just tried and I can`t fit my CD player in my pocket! And when the hell did everyone stop using CD`s??? I still listeen to them...hell I still have tapes....oh poo, I still have records....and no I don`t have 8 tracks. I`m not that old...and yes I have an ipod and I regret ever buying that piece of poo!
"Lastly, you don`t have to face headache of incompatibility issue as some players can play only specific file format."This is pretty much nulled by the fact that microsoft started the "plays4sure" program for complete idiots who can`t pick an mp3 player...
For compatibility, You can get away with 512Kbp/s MP3s Encoded with joint stereo, Theres VERY little difference
And I know what I am talking about, I own a studio and do audio rendering.
To the other guy saying "I refuse to use MP3s because i can listen to CDs anywhere"... Ever heard of a MP3 Player?, You then wouldn`t need to carry a bag of discs around, or burn custom mixes...
All in all I think This is a decent idea, It could be described as an MP3 Player that can be used to Play CDs When unfolded. Portability ++
and it wouldn`t even hurt you if you touched it... Those motors have very little torque, low speed And CDs aren`t even sharp...
How to make it a lethal weapon:1. Buy a blank CD2. Buy a sheet of ultra-fine sandpaper3. Use it on the CD while it`s spinning4. Presto! You just got your homemade saw out of a CD. Ok well just go buy a real blade, it`s stronger.
seriously, that thing looks dangerous. =/
If this gadget could not only play a CD, but also rip it, and store it in memory, then I would buy it.
LMAO exactly what i was thinking.
FOLD-OUT VERSION IS THE SHNAZZ!!! COMPACT AND PORTABLE!!! YOU CAN EITHER USE THE MP3 PLAYER OR THE CD PLAYER. LOOKS WICKEDLY WICKED!!!
...JUST GOTTA BE CAREFUL YOU SET IT DOWN WHERE IT WON`T BE BUMPED/FALL OVER...AND I KNOW I`LL USE IT AS A TORTURE SAW WITH A MODIFIED CD.
I mean, so we could take a stand against music piracy. Yeah, that`s what I meant to say.
ipods are garbage. this device wouldnt work too well for the cd is exposed and can be damaged easily. but still it does look pretty cool.
Sorry about the caps, i just had to.
until my birthday when i get my ipod though
I kinda see how downloading is more convenient, but would it kill ya to just go to the store and buy a CD? You get a little exercise and fresh air out of it anyway. :-P
Definitely not portable... Defeats the purpose.
I think this is an easy way to destroy CDs too, but it does look cool.
I guess that wouldn`t really cut you, but it looks like it wants to.
