Don`t try getting through to people then, you`re not a preacher. It`s simple; I was talking directly to another member, and you butt in thinking I was somehow directing it to you. The fact is that I don`t care about you and how many leaders you can name. If I wanted to know then I`d ask.

If you want to turn this into a `last word` match then be my guest, but I`m sure you can act mature enough for a few seconds, right? (Rhetorical.)

Fine, wish granted. I`m tired of trying to get through to people, especially people who have their head up their a**. I`ll save my comments for the next flame war, which should be pretty soon knowing IAB.

And stop putting words into my mouth, it`s immature. "

I know you weren`t talking to me, but the same principle applies. You were being smug, so I decided to put you in your place. There`s nothing immature about countering bullsh*t.

Of course even my geographic stereotypes are overgeneralized, but at least they`re more localized than "America" :-P

Female 61
You all overgeneralize. Just like Britain has different "cultures" in different areas (upcountry, London, by the coast, in Scotland, Wales, etc...) so does America. New Orleans is known as flamboyant, and also for having many poor people, who depend on the government. When the govt didn`t show, they paniced and started looting. Understandable. But in self-reliant Montana, people wouldn`t get flustered if the government didn`t help. Or in hoity-toity Martha`s Vineyard, people will use their wealth and social connections and not wait on the govt.

It all depends on where in America and what social class we`re talking about.

And in a disaster, safe water is definitely #1. As long as you have water and a place to hide from the crazies, you can wait it out.

HEY YOUZ GAIZ, GO OUTSIDE AND TAKE A LOOK AT SOME RANDOM BABY. And think, just THINK of the world this fighting is creating for it! ...Or something. XD I vote for dropping the subject even though I have absolutely nothing to do with it because someone who is too busy being offended prolly won`t be listening to reason. :P And I`m not really speaking for either side when I say that.

My failed attempts at being funny aside, that list was pretty useless. :P

Septemberex, thank you for that comment, it`s glad to finally see someone outside of this country standing up for logic.

And ConverseUK, shut the f*ck up. I know your damn PM`s name, it`s Gordon Brown, and I even knew the exact date Tony Blair was leaving office. And I also followed the French elections and chose a side. But you may ask, "He’s an American, why would he care when he`s too busy getting fat and being dumb?" Well because I (along with everyone else I know) am not a frig*in dumba*s like many of you seem to think we all are. I study hard in College and follow the news, and guess what? I`m an AMERICAN, not a smug European who thinks I can do no wrong and pretends to stand atop the totem pole of class and intelligence. And do I think all Europeans are this way? No. But these boards would surely suggest otherwise if I didn`t already know better than to assume such things.

Whoever said europe was a country needs to quietly step away from that isolationist stereotype.

Quick question...without looking, who is the President of England?

BUZZZZZZZ Sorry that`s the WRONG answer, we don`t have a damn `President` you shallow, moronic, selfish, dense piece of good-for-nothing catsick.

Wise up and grab yourself some knowledge of sweet Mother Earth. We`re all here together, the least you could do is pay some interest.

That is all.

" Americans eat hamburgers and ride in cars, let`s make fun of them!"
Think you find many people eat hamburgers and ride in cars B-|

I dont honestly know how this stupid article become a America vs Europe thing, septemberex your doing what you hate most your being bloody rude and a blatant hypocrite, thats a poor excuse you dont care about a flood because its not the same as a monsoon you cant pick and choose who you have sympathy for based on the disaster, if lifes are lost then its tragic its spiteful to say i dont care shame on you.

Female 646
Sorry, but the majority of Europeans here- you`re being pretty rude. I have nothing against Americans or any other country, and I do not feel the need to vent my frustration out on a country that had nothing to do with the topic at first.

The only reason you make fun of America is because it`s perceived as "cool" to do it, and because many are fairly good-natured about it. (And don`t copy and paste a post of an American ranting rudely, because that`s easy to expect when you insult someone`s country.)

What I just can`t understand- Other countries barely feed their people, and treat them like the scum of the earth and beat them for information, but oh no, Americans eat hamburgers and ride in cars, let`s make fun of them!

Sorry, my rant is over. I hope some of you choose to rethink your opinions regarding this issue.

Oh, and by the way, I don`t care how high your floods are, it`s not the same as a monsoon or tornado.

We all live on this planet and it doesnt matter if a american loses his life or someone from the UK its still a tragic loss, its not 10points for 1 and 20 points for another, i think everyone in that situation would be the same looting and stuff look at the floods in britain it didnt stop people looting loads of useless poo.
God where do people think that we all think you exaggerate everything cause i know for a fact i dont think like that.

Now lets all hug and make up!

IAmTheMoose you dont even know the situation in the UK if thats what your refering to so i suggest you shut it now.

Shanir,

I apologize for my "Silly flood" comment. People have died in it, and I`m greatfully sorry, and I wish the best for the families who suffered through it.
However, alot of Europeans see America as this one big stereotype "overreacting, stupid, selfish pigs who put George Bush into power."
I`m not saying all say it, but I`ve seen all these American bashings alot of you do. Now you know how we feel when we turn the tables on you. Not saying it`s the right thing to say, however, most people here were implying "Americans always panic during a disaster." which it is simply not true. I`ve been through multiple horrible disasters here, and I haven`t seen any looting and all that stuff with any of them.

Disaster isnt justified on the amount of people died its tragic if one person pegs it and the same if 1000 people peg it, yeah and apparently it was a silly flood it didnt stop people dying did it, so why dont you go and tell these families who lost relatives that it was just a silly little flood?

Most of you are probably comparing the looting sh*t to Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. You European f*cktards need to realize no hurricane that strong (Catagory 5, strongest hurricane) had even touch that part of America before. They had NO idea what to expect. Buildings got torn down, lots of people died. So think of your silly flood and multiply the damage by 5,000. Not only to metion it was a poverty stricken place aswell.

Anyways, If a Hurricane that strong hit Europe I`m pretty DAMN sure you guys will panic like that.

Just because you hear tiny stories of people panicking and looting from a recent disaster, don`t you dare say all of America is like that. We`re all f*cking human and europe isn`t the f*cking perfect country you`re making it sound like.

_______

Hey, you European f*ckbag. I live in Florida and I`ve been through 4 hurricanes in 2 months time. Your silly little flood can`t even compare to damage those hurricanes caused (I`m NOT talking about Katrina)
There were NO looting here, NO mass panic, and neighbors helped out neighbors and everyone helped out eachother. So go take your biasness and shove it up your a$$ because Europe isn`t the f*cking utopia where everyone is perfect and the sun always shines. So go drink some more tea and pull your head out of your a$$.

I like how feminine hygiene products is #24, while male hygiene products is # 49.
Then way the hell down there you have shaving needs at #73.
Duct tape is #53. So duct tape is almost as important as male hygiene, and more important than shaving.

I think I have to agree with most of the Europeans that said that Americans would panic. Canada probably would too, but there`s never been anything dramatic enough here to actually test us; at least not that I know of.

Anyways, the thing is that over here they breed panic, and it seems to be what the government relies on to stay in power. I mean, lets face it. Any little thing that happens and it`s all over CNN and the evening news. How can people not panic when they`ve constantly been bombarded with that kind of fear?

My own personal favorite was the `Big Dogs` one. Yeah, I guess I`ll just load up on a few great danes in case there`s an emergency.

And my gosh, would everyone please stop picking on America? It`s a BIG country. We can`t control what everyone is doing at any one point. I`m sure your smug European country has it`s own fair share of idiots too.

thats pretty funny the list looked pretty stupid to me, i reckon i could have made that list at least 50 items shorter and still wouldnt have a problem with surviving. also "In America perhaps. In any other country people don`t go all hysterical like that.", love it, bloody good point, pat125 obviously didnt understand. we have very recentley had some seriously flooding in the UK, some people died and billions worth of damage caused. NO ONE in this country had this list, oh my we are still here. the only problem we had was that no one not flooded really gave a toss about them. we had communal water bowsers and those effected all worked together to get things fixed. if that is liquidglass`s point of being sophisticated and pompous well hell it works so i think that yeah actually america does panic far too out of proportion. we keep our upper lips stiff no matter what

Not one case of looting at all. People just did the best with what they had and let the government help them. See as they did this the government could provide what they needed, If people loot they also have to deal with the looters in a negative way, Via riot police to the riot police could be handing out bottles of water, But there not the hitting people with Kosh`s.

Jeff you`re still an idiot, no matter where you`re from, you`re human, and as such you result to your basic ways. Not necessarily any particular individual but humans as a whole are stupid and panic easily. It only takes a few people to start `mass hysteria` because it becomes contagious for the unprepared.
You don`t remain calm any better than the next country, you`ve just never had a disaster on the level this list is referring to for comparison.

You wouldn`t have to worry about it because you would be curled in a ball crying and would eventually die.

I don`t care what country you`re from, your ignorance and unwarranted pompousness is call for you to be punched. Or at the very least, verbally assaulted.

Giggled @ this comment on the Bacon report.

"Required said...
One thing you have left out is a lion costume. If you wear a lion costume you will terrify people into not taking your stuff. Also, small animals will drop dead from fright and you will be able to gobble them up. You may even meet a lioness, in which case you will be able to stay home while she goes out and catches the food.
A lion costume should be Number One on your list."

I agree w/ this one.
Wonder why was a lion costume deleted, anyway~?

Jeffhatesyou, YourParentsHateYouToo, dumbass.

I`m with Pat, no matter how "sophisticated" you are as a pompous ass people are all generally the same, and they`ll revert to the same behavior.

Why water purifiers? There are much easier ways to purify water than a physical filter.
If it`s come time for someone to steal yours in this "disaster list" you`ve probably used up all it`s filtration system by then.

And wood can be used any time, dead trees everywhere and even live ones will burn with a bit of heat.

Seriously, think about the stupidity of what you just said. Regardless of whether you are personally worried about it, disasters DO happen (yes even in Europe, I know that`s hard for you to comprehend), and these items WILL go (fast) when the $hit hits the fan. So if you decide not to think about it until the apocalypse is upon you, than that`s your choice.
