but them other chips broke down after like, two weeks, they went black... this is pretty disturbing, how many preservatives muct be in there :|
Also, when we "digest food" it begins to break down as we chew, then we have special digestive chemicals and acids in our stomachs that break things down.
Yes its bad for us.Yes we should stay away from all fast food restaurants.
But no, its really not as bad as he`s making it out to be.And McDonalds fries (I worked there in highschool) are kept frozen, are precut, salted after cooking- they are only good for 6 months frozen. The burger patties about 3 months.
If people weren`t allowed to use harmful substances in their products, the cigarrete buisness would be non-existent. Idiot.[/quote]
YOU are a f*cking idiot. Do you see a huge surgeon general`s warning on the fries telling about the harmfulness of their preservatives? Are there organizations (such as DARE) campaigning against the preservatives used in these fries? What kind of diseases have been linked to these preservatives? Not to mention that fries are a FOOD and cigarettes are a DRUG, and almost all drugs are harmful in some way...
Please, enlighten me... or admit that your comparison was complete bullsh*t.
The only thing harmful about McDonald`s fries is their enormous fat content, which is found in almost any food at almost any restaurant in the world.
Ever heard of fiber? And what, you think if something doesn`t decompose (which, by the way, the fries do decompose) it`s just gonna sit in your stomach and never come out? Right...that`s why when dogs/kids/stupid people eat something they shouldn`t, like a little piece of metal, it comes back out, etc.
Oh, and LEARN HOW TO FREAKIN SPELL AND USE GRAMMAR. I love how any kind of debate link brings all the idiots out.
Rofl. I`m not laughing at this in a bad way... I just thought this was funny and it made me laugh. :P
Anyway, Soader is right, u stupid penises who think it`s supposed to represent what happens in our stomachs...IT`S NOT!
ARGH u dumb "interns"
i work at mcdonalds and all we do is fry the chips then salt them.
But no idea what actually goes into them, they are a much paler yellow (almost white) than any normal fries when they come out of the freezer, so theres summat different about them.
Theyre disgusting anyway, KFC fries are better, plus any fast food joints chips go cold in about 5 minutes.
fuzzy, liquidy, mossy, etc...
by the way, if u squeeze a mcdonals fry, u can c the grease come out of it, almost dripping down ur finger
but seriously, the mcgrill or w/e it was, was disguisting lookin
It would be hilarious to put him in a bell jar for six months and see if he grows mold.
I know it`s not good for me, but I`m eating mcdonalds anyway.
If it doesnt decompose it wont be able to go throught the process to turn into sh*t therefore, your oh so wrong(btw sorry for the double post)
2.other than the regular fries the mcdonalds fries are thin salty and probably very dry. so what happens in the first few days is that they dry out even more like chips. so not enough moisture for mould. you wouldn`t be surprised if you put pringles or something in the glass and look for them 10 weeks. they wouldn`t be mouldy either-----------------------You are completely right!! Thats what I was thinkin the whole time I was watching the Vid. This guy who did this, he is way more of a sold out idiot than anybody thinks. I think I`ll go eat some mcdonalds fries now!
i know i wont
They should throw him away instead :)
McDonalds french fries: Grade A Farm Fresh vegetables.
Wait, I`m sorry.
poo, i`d still eat them
Have you ever tried eating McDonalds fries after a day? Try it. They`re already cold and stale, and they get this weird gritty feeling when you eat them. They taste horrible, even if you try to reheat them. In reality, McDonalds fries go bad after a few hours because as soon as they`re cold, they go stale and taste horrible.
umm...no.when i go to mcdonalds, they make the chips fresh ^o)
It was gross watching the food rot. I`m glad I didn`t have to smell it. And his commentary was funny.
Take a potato chip and leave it in a jar for a few weeks. Nothing will happen. Mold causing bacteria won`t grow on a potato that`s been deep fried and covered in salt. There`s not nearly as much moisture as there is in those sandwiches.
"If people weren`t allowed to use harmful substances in their products, the cigarrete buisness would be non-existent."
Looool. When was the last time you saw a surgeon general`s warning on the side of a box of fries.
Third to KFC and Burger King in my opinion though.
not only does it suck, wtf are they doing calling that a "big" mac... its barely bigger than his palm
i`d slap someone if they sold me a `hamburger` that only had meat on it
I use to work in a Deli (at a grocery store) and I had to leave. (several reasons). And I have just gotten over my fear of fast food (from working in the deli). Then I watched this.
Thanks I-am-bored. I think this broke me from my fast food addiction. BTW does subway count.
Now, if he wanted to prove the McDonald`s food was the culprit in obesity, he should have done EVERYTHING ELSE THE SAME, and simply changed his diet to McDonald`s. If he got unhealthy/fat/sick, boom! Theory proven! Thank you and good night!
Instead, the idiot stopped exercising (unhealthy), stopped taking vitamins (unhealthy), walked as little as possible (not healthy), and generally became sedentary. The whole experiment was invalid! He tried to act, in the end, like it was just the food that made him fat and sick. Could it also have been the fact that you became a lazy, inactive chump??? Could it be that going from an exercise enthusiast to an immobile lump might have had adverse effects??? What a joke.
It`s an experiment on preservatives. How long food from McD vs food from non-McD will last uneaten. As mentioned previously, a lot of preservatives are considered unhealthy, so the longer the food lasts, the less healthful it is (if you follow that view of course).
Don`t miss the point.
hahaha me too
I watched this film in college but we didn`t watch the whole thing. We didn`t see anything really gross like this and it was right before lunch so I just remember have a serious craving for McNuggets.
I think that McDonalds is okay occasionally, but anything will make you ill if you eat that and nothing else for a month.
Lastly, no food will sit in your stomache for a month. They digest and find their way out in 24-48 hours.
Then I decided that, as much as I enjoyed it, McDonalds really isn`t all that healthy, and I went cold turkey on it.
Now, even if it`s only one fry, I get indigestion from eating McDonalds. That can`t be good.
The French Fries don’t break down in air, so they won’t break down in your stomach? I am afraid they will break down, otherwise you would die eating them.
There are plenty of foodstuffs you could have put in that jar that wouldn’t have decomposed after 10 weeks, does this mean all these foods are evil?
I’m off to get a double cheeseburger meal from McDs! Have fun with your poor science!
a bunch of fvk\n retards the lot of you
I beg to differ, KFC chips are by far THE BEST in the fast food business. I love the salt xD
Salt is a good preservative, though, and cosidering the amount of salt in the french fries I wouldn`t be surprised it took longer than other food to decay. I *am* surprised at how long it took (or didn`t take) to decay.
And those last ones he called `french fries` are what the UK would call `chips`, ie thick fries.
the burgers were made fresh and they were hot. while that may not sound significiant it really is.
When the burger is hot it realeases steam which then turns into water in one for or the other. and when he put the lid on the water was just traped in there.
Burgers are kept in those packages so they retain their heat.
The fries are left in the open where they ahve cooled down enough where there is no more steam coming out from them.
Mold spreads via airborne spores. So mold is basically everywhere. Mold has little to do with germs or whatever. No need to touch anything ;)
1.all burgers are handled at one time with bare hands. hence the mould as i-am-emo pointed out. fries come out of the hot oil and are never touched with bare hands until they are in the glas.
2.other than the regular fries the mcdonalds fries are thin salty and probably very dry. so what happens in the first few days is that they dry out even more like chips. so not enough moisture for mould. you wouldn`t be surprised if you put pringles or something in the glass and look for them 10 weeks. they wouldn`t be mouldy either.
Watching the Quarter Pounder (with cheese) change colours was pretty cool. Went from black to white to...beige? Khaki?
Also, the potatoes used in McDonalds french fries all come from one main food provisioner who used "special chemicals" in ensure his produce a higher yeild.
Or vampire potatoes. They are making a comeback recently, so it`s not exactly a longshot. Just remember, their enemy is cowmeat, as long as you chase undead french fries with a hunk of dead cow, you`re golden.
But they`re still tasty xD
But fries are just potatoes fried with salt. No special chemicals like in the sandwiches and stuff.
