My friend was at O`Hare Airport in Chicago, and she ran her purse through security. She had to give up a new bottle of Estee Lauder perfume and a new large bottle of Bath & Body Works lotion. She was shocked they took it! She tried to argue with them, but they took it anyway - what kind of threat would that cause?!?

I just hope whoever made her give it up is enjoying using it!

Why did they take a someone`s calculator )-|? That`s mean!
If it`s one of those objects classified as dangerous or deadly, then what do those figures actually mean?

This is retarded. They say "people are concerned with us making a profit off of the items" But they are! If an item had already been paid retail price for, then it`s a paid up item. To resale the item confiscated for free is 100% profit. I`m with you cnlbell. They should have rent lockers at the very least.

What ticks me off, is this was the best idea they could come up with. I have been telling them, for years, that they should offer manila envelopes or small boxes for sale along with postage so the people could mail the stuff back to themselves. This is theft on a grand scale. Yah, the people were dumb enough to forget to pack their stuff on the check in luggage, but still... oh well.

larajunky...when the terrorists took over the planes, do you think they used nail files and cork screws? no. a pen is just as dangerous, yet millions are taken on planes everyday.

personally, i think they should give everyone who boards the plane a bat. let`s see terrorists take over a plane when 100 americans start swinging.}-)

pretty soon they will be amputating all your limbs."that arm looks pretty dangeros, you could punch sum1 with is, we`ll hav to take em both, same with your legs. we will also hav to take your intestins, you could rip them out and strangle sumone." then they`ll open a new warehouse where they sell human body parts, it`ll be exactly like the black market. lol

The answer is obvious.

We should fly naked.

thats a disgrace, one of two things should happen when you take contraband into an airport. One they should hold the contraband at the airport for at least 30 days allowing you to reclaim it once you have returned, or two they should offer to ship the contraband via UPS, or another carrier, to your destination if you are willing to pay the shipping fee. The fact that they get to keep your property is an abomination, disgrace, and a humiliation to americans everywhere.

One time when i was getting on a plane, they took my sweets, no kidding, I was all oh noes! and had a big argument with them -- I lost...
I wanna go to that shop, and buy EVERYTHING, literally, everything, put it all in one massive bag, and try to go on a plane with it, maybe even with some of the blades sticking through the bag... See how they like me then...

"And really, CD`s are probably more dangerous. Just break it in half and, BOOM, you have very sharp jagged knife."
Shhhhhh!!! don`t say it out loud or they`ll ban CD`s and music players as well! They`ll use the excuse of teaming up with the RIAA and the DRM people!

Knowing about the airport restrictions those people should have known! I mean really, hello, remember the World Trade Center building that are NOT there now because of terrorists?? If they don`t get it back Oh F-ing Well!! Go to their surplus wing and buy one for cheap then you technically get the same sh*t back. Quit crying like babies.

notice that the 70,000 was classes as just "deadly or dangerous items" which means these items could range from a spare zipper to a full blown shotgun.

For those who complain that they forgot to remove a banned item before taking the plane: Why should it be their problem that you forgot to remove it? It`s not like they suddenly sprung this new rule on you, so suck it up.

Just watch: once that store starts making money, the screeners will say things like, "That necklace could be used to strangle someone," or, "the diamonds on that ring are too sharp."

i forgot i had a pen knife in my bag once, and after paying a fair amount of money it got sent back home to me. it`s that simple.

There was a calculator among these items. Apparently math has been outlawed too. It`s a good thing. So people won`t check the ridiculous expenses on a flawed security system ;)

I SAWED A TOY GUN! Dang, that kid would`ve been crying and I`m so glad I wasn`t on a flight out of Georgia. I hate those screaming kids on planes, it makes you want to be able to bring stuff like that on a plane. I got a lighter through security when coming from France. I was all smug about it, but the guy I gave it to broke up with me the next day. non-nice individual, I went through the trouble of making sure it was underneath something else metal.

About 20,000 of those knives came from me. I was going to a knife throwing convention in Georgia and I hadn`t thought that all those knives wouldn`t be allowed in carry-on.

I apologize.
