i cant believe that this is not an editing trick, that guy is seriously bullpooting.
i like the way he stops talking as he `changes` the card, really makes you susspect editing, plus the fact that he swears it isnt! seriously dude!

when he put down the 2 of clubs, he never actually moved it in the video itself --- he used a very clever editing trick that works like this: when he first put down the card, he created a hole in the video footage itself that was exactly the same shape as the card - he then put a different card in the hole every time he took his hands away (he snaps his hands so that he can remove the hole just before his hands cross it, then puts it in again when he snaps them back) this explains why he has to end with the same card he started with, b/c it never actually changes, he just puts different cards in the hole --- its kinda like layers in photoshop, where you can make a hole in the top layer and change whats underneath it --- i cant believe some of you 30 year-old geeks couldnt figure that

Anyone else notice that while his hands are over the cards there is a shadow that appears and disappears. also watch the hazing where fingers all meet. its editting. watch it frame by frame. its a GREAT try though. almost unnoticable.

I thought it was that at first too, and i know the trick you are talking about, i can do that too. But there is no way you can flick cards off a pile and have the pile remain in exactly the same spot.
Nonetheless if he has figured out some way of doing it without moving the pile, the flicking of the cards would explain the `clicking` sound.

I`ve seen more impressive card tricks. A kid at school was REALLY good. But this was still pretty cool.

I`m not quick enough with my hands to do them. :<

I heard clicks after every time he put his hands over the card, as mentioned earlier.
it`s editing

Is it me or when he covers the card with his hand the first time, it goes blurry in the gap between were you can see his two hands. Editing proof?

I HATE how he talks with his hands, you know moving them. It just bugged me.

I think I`ve figured it out. (Or at least how it can be done :) This would also explain why the cards don`t move. If he had all the cards stacked up like this: 2 of clubs, 5 of diamonds, 2 of hearts, king of spades, joker, and then a 2nd 2 of clubs, then when his hands are over the stack he could flick the top one off quickly with his hidden thumb, exposing the one underneath. I`ve done a similar trick in the past by making a pencil disappear. Nobody that watched me perform the trick could figure it out, even after watching several times.

let`s step away from how obviously editied it is. He claims this to be "the most amazing card trick you`ve ever seen" I expected him to top my friend`s son`s ability to flick a card right in front of my eyes and change it to any card he wants. this of course, did not top that. This person performed a mildly intteresting routine on camera where he covered the card in between his "magical changes". Anyone who says I`m unimaginitive or naive because I think this is edited, feel free to send me your explanation of this amzing task.

Ok, I`m stumped...

Facts: 1. Cards are in exact same spots to the nearest micrometer (therefore can not be slight of hand)
2. None of the cards in the trick are in the deck when he splays it out (irrelevant? dont think so)
Lastly, I dont know to much about video editing, however I`m 99% sure it wasn`t video editing because
3. If you pause frame as his left hand makes a shadow over the card each time, the shadows are perfect (the shadow of his hand over the card has clearly defined finger outlines) and in no way look added (which you would have to do using frame by frame editing). Also, if you compare screenshots of any single card several times throughout the few seconds it is shown, the lighting on the card DOES change slightly. This corresponds to the slight lighting change on the table cloth.
No editing software could have predicted the exact outline of his hand.
No frame by frame editing could have gotten the slight lighting changes so perfect.

ok... i hav a theory, i kinda noticed that there is a small bump in the table cloth, it goes all the way across the screen, right in front of the deck of cards, is it possible he cut a small slit into the table cloth and slid the cards in and out of it? i also heard that click but i think that was him opening his mouth to talk. i don`t think its the green screen thing because that would look extremely fake.

Reply to pieguy314, about the bicycle joker. That deck isn`t a bicycle deck, its a Hoyle jumbo index deck. the joker you showed is a standard bicycle 808 joker. In my experience, if this was a real trick he would be using a standard bicycle deck or a higher quality deck, since hes such an amazing magician. Professional magicians never use Hoyle. at least i have never seen it.

i think it is fake on the first change you can see a hole in the middle of both hands and from what i can see it dosn`t change until he moves his hands away and I can here a constant noise from something and when he changes it i hear a clicking noise.

well the biggest give away that it is edited is the fact that the bicycle deck that he`s using doesn`t use the joker that he showed!

That deck has a joker like this:

agreed, but for some reason the 2 of hearts is one of my most liked, and so is the 3 of clubs, i wonder what it is about the 2 of clubs that makes me hate it so.

and cy, you dont have one?

#1: King of Hearts
next 4 (in no particular order):
7 of hearts, 3 of clubs, 4 of clubs, 2 of hearts, 10 of diamonds

bottom 5 (no order):
2 of clubs, jack of diamonds, queen of spades (i think this goes back to my "spades" playing days), ace of clubs, and 9 of diamonds.

Well, not to a Latin snob, maybe, but it`s actually the first pronunciation listed in the dictionaries.

Re the actual trick, if he really did it by sleight of hand, it`s a pretty awesome trick.

0

Male 161
This may be nitpicking, but he did say that this was a standard deck of 52 cards. There are 52 cards in a deck not counting the jokers. In other words, you have to take the jokers out to get the deck to total 52. That and I didn`t see any jokers in the deck when he spread it out at the beginning.

correct omgwtflol - it`s the same card. the slight shadow and position remain pixel perfect. In large mode there is a small shadow on the top right corner of the card which never changes. They are just overwriting the card suit and pips with editing software. That`s why he never picks up the changed card until it is back to the 2 spaces again. What a crock of pooe.
0
Reply
Male 96
The card does not move, even by a pixel, therefore I`ll have to assume that the video has been edited.

Male 1,162
have no idea how he`s doing it, really. That`s assuming that he isn`t lying and there is no editing or camera trickery. I`m going to give him that.

My first theory was "May he`s sliding the top cord off the near by deck and flipping it over with his hidden left thumb, then removing the older card with his right hand when he reveals the new card."

But looking at the deck closely, I just dont see movement at all. If he had been taking cards off the top, I just think there would be at least a very slight change to it. But the cards remain undisturbed.

Ok, if I learned anything about magic, you look for what`s possible, eliminate it, and what`s left is the solution.
Well, maybe that was something else (S.Holmes?)
Anyway, what`s possible is he`s got a feeder behind his hands. His left thumb is hidden so I`d say that`s remover. He `throws` the card out with the jerky cover-up of the card, that could be the placer.
My final answer is he flicks the card off the table with his thumb and catches the new card with the cover motion. )-| or editing.

I thought about maybe he is taking the cards from the pile each time, but I swear I looked close and if thats the case, he is INSANELY good at not messing up the deck when he does.

I`m also in favor of editing. Notice how his hands are absolutely still for a fraction of a second. Could just as easily have held them there for a bit, while an assistand snuck a finger under his hands and switched the cards. Note that his hands are folded /\ like so, so you can slide a finger and the card in an out without moving.
