I love you, LSD.
One time the entire sky became this huge rainbow during the sunset. Just like, the entire sky was this huge rainbow of colours and stuff. Completely awesome.

By the way, Moracca has a good point. LSD does not rot your insides, Pot does not kill your brain. I find it hard to imagine how people believe all that crap.

wow. he started out like he was one of those guys who draws court cases...then got really crappy until stage 6, which was totally trippy. nice picture though. state 7 is so minimalist, but i like it. stage 8 looks like a wind god of some kind. poor guy really is having a strange trip.

`I have nothing to say about this last drawing, it is bad and uninteresting, I want to go home now.`

aww sad. well, at least he didn`t see demons or something right?

Upon completing the drawing the patient starts laughing, then becomes startled by something on the floor.

ahaha!

"Um.. acid rots your insides. I would never do it."

Lol... some of you people on here really make me laugh. I guess 5th grade DARE class actually did affect some people? I don`t know where else you could possibly come up with this stuff. LSD is not for everyone, but please, get your facts straight before you post this kind of nonsense. Try to have a somewhat open mind, instead of repeating back the age old "drugs r bad" crap. Kthnxbai...

PS Baalthazaq - you`re a moron

Well, it didn`t, but since it follows american time it`s not so strange.

I`d pay money for stages 6 and 7. I thought they both looked pretty sweet. I also thought that stage five looked like a distorted Gandhi.

"I wonder if he was hospitalized afterward."
Why would he be?
"Except it could have killed the guy."
No it couldn`t have. The lethal dose is so high, there`s only been like, two people who have died from it, if that.
"LCD must be a hilarious drug."
LCD is something completely different, and a lot less fun. LSD, on the other hand, is pretty awesome, but can be traumatizing if you aren`t careful.
"I wonder if the government would give me LSD if I said it was specifically for art?"
In the 60`s, when LSD was invented, they ran all sorts of tests, mostly fueled by the government, and mostly about traumatizing people while under the influence, as a interrogation tactic.
"seriously......umm where can i find sum???"
Ask around, but I seriously doubt you really understand LSD enough to try it.
I suggest that you all look at erowid.com It`s got some good information.
And lastly, this is an interesting test, but I

"Zomg he painted better stoned".

.....From like 10 people.

If you didn`t just want that to be the truth you`d notice that they were crap. They`re not even complex. You can get a random pattern generator to give you much prettier results.

"Open up new doors in your mind".
Is that door your ass? Does it let you speak out of it? Seriously, there`s an artist who cant tell the difference between a pencil and a crayon, is overcome by a shiny floor and runs back and forth across a room to paint a picture.

A toddler with ADD is you idea of a genius apparently.

"Interesting. Drugs in fact open up doors in your brain that lets you see, hear and do things different. On the other side, we all know the consequences of the abuse and how deteriorating could they be for your life."
despite what everybody tells kids these days, "different" can be bad, too. its not just seeing green and purple as red and orange. your entire thought process changes, possibly dangerously.

"But yeah that was neat, drugs for all."
dont say that, say "drugs for everybody who needs mind altering substances to have fun."
leave the smart people out of it.

Not much was known about LSD at the time because it was a new, and legal, drug. Also, no psychedelics are addictive, and with the proper dosage have no negative long-term effects. =p Unless you`re already crazy, then they can push you over the edge. But yeah that was neat, drugs for all.

I quite like how every stage seemed to have its own sort of genre; Stage 2 was rather Cubist, 3 seemed Minimalist, 4 through 8 ranged from Impressionist to Abstract. Also, it seemed pretty entertaining for the researchers:
"Stage 5: Upon completing the drawing the patient starts laughing, then becomes startled by something on the floor."
"Stage 7: Patient makes the last half-a-dozen strokes of the drawing while running back and forth across the room."

Seriously though. It`s a cool experiment. Except it could have killed the guy. But personally I think it was sort of neat.
