I`ve seen a few of them. That gravity hill thing is very familiar considering I went to Spook Hill Elementary in Lake Wales. Which happens to be the only gravity hill in the state of Florida.

For those of you wanting to see aurora borealis: come north, it`s that easy. Certain times of the year, when it`s really dark and no clouds in the sky, you`ll see loads. They`re quite nice though.

in pirates of the carribean 3 they mention the green flash, and they said that it meant a spirit was released. nonscientific reasoning ftw! ^_^

I`ve seen the crepuscular rays one before, definitely. Not sure about the others, though.

How perfectly arrogant to make such a list of only natural phenomenon observed on the planet we happen to inhabit. Why not quasars or black holes or star formation and death? Without the birth and death of stars, of course, we (or much of anything else) would not even be here to completely ignore that fact.

Very nice. I`ve only seen 3 or 4 of these. My mother`s seen the ball lightning though--she had it go through her living room once!

The article forgot my favorite phenomena of all--the fire rainbow (circumhorizontal arc). http://www.snopes.com/photos/natural/fir...

On that `ball lighting` thing, I saw one that was much bigger than the video, in the middle of the night. It wasn`t raining, but it was about to, and there was no cloud cover over it. It was quite amazing to see, it seemed to be so close too. Though, most of those are that `amazing` Mirages? ha.. XD

"and i saw it right near my house, even though it was 1 in a lifetime moment to actually see it in sthlm."
A year or so ago, I was supposed to be able to see them from where I lived, but... it was like, cloudy, so I couldn`t see anything.

You know, I thought that when they said lighting balls, they were talking about something my dad told me about once. Maybe it is the same thing, but the thing my dad told me about is like a ball of energy that just sort of falls on the ground during a lightening storm. I dunno.
Anyway, these are really cool. I`ve seen... five of them. I really want to see the Aurora Borealis--it kinda creeps me out--and a moonbow, which just looks magical. :]

I saw a broken spectre once. I was on a plane and looking down on the clouds I could see a perfectly circular double rainbow. I has puzzled me until then, because I didn`t know the name of the phenomenon.

I`ve seen most of these, but some are completely new to me.

I think it`s really unfortunate how many people on here haven`t seen aurora borealis (or Northern Lights, which is what we call them). I have seen them hundreds of times due to where I live. I never get tired of seeing them.

ive seen many of these, my favorite would be the lightning ball. when i was in a hotel in new mexico a similar thing called `saint elmo`s ball of fire` appeared in the room and woke me up, and just sat there. it was prett scary but later i learned it was just electricity passing through. crazy cool.

"i wanna see an aurora borealis"

Keep in mind, even though in that video its speed up a bunch, aurora do actually move quite fast at times. So don`t think it was only moving fast because the video was sped up. :)

I hate watching amature video! Half the time the camera isn`t looking anywhere near where the action is, and the person filming never seems to know how to steady the damn thing!

Mhmm, i`ve seen 3, the mirage, the crepuscular rays, and the broken spectre.
These all seem to be seen from outside, so i highly doubt i will ever see anymore, except for the incredibly common ones.
I`m more of an indoor girl.

i saw a double moonbow. yeah. it was the trippiest thing i had ever seen in my life... and i didn`t even know what it was until i saw this. it was soooo weird, one part of the sky was completely orange, then one part was black and lightning, and then there was the double moonbow. at the time, i wasn`t completely ruling out that it was the apocalypse.

I`ve seen:

Cerpuscular Rays
Mirages
(pretty sure everybody has seen the gravity waves without knowing)
Halo/Sundog
Aurora Borealis

that makes a possible 5, with 4 certainly.

Northern lights are amazing to watch. I saw the best ones I had ever seen a couple years ago. I kid you not, they lit up everything. There were all sort of colours too: red, green, yellow, blue. They lasted about an hour and faded. Of course, it was the one time I didn`t have my camera to take pictures.

Seen seven of them! I`ve never seen the gravity hill, sprites or brocken spectre. Moonbows, gravity waves and crepuscular rays I have seen a couple of times, aurora borealis maybe more than ten times and mirages occur very often. I`ve seen a ball lightning, green flash and a halo/sundog only once each in my life.

I`ve seen crepuscular rays, mirages, gravity waves and a gravity hill.

The hill I`ve been on is a pretty minor one, so it`s not listed in the Wiki entry, but it does appear to slant up, yet things roll up the slant. Very cool to experience.

I’ve seen a couple of them…. I also have this weird camera obscura thing going on with the hole in my door that’s used to see who’s outside before I open it up. It’s not a glass peep hole, it’s a square shaped hole that’s 2” wide by 2 ½” tall with a brass flap hinged on it to keep people from peeking in while it’s not in use. If the metal flap is kept open during the day while the room is dark a faint horizontally reversed image of the street outside is projected on the wall opposite the door. It was really trippy the first time I noticed it. I mean, by pure happenstance a room in my house is set up for a nifty optical phenomenon.

According to Wikipeadia there`s a gravity hill near where I live and another one near where I`m going to school next year. I`ll have to go check those out.

Erm, I`ve seen quite a few of these actually. Probably about 5?

Moonbow though, totally new to me. That`s the one I really want to see. Aurora Borealis too, I think it would be awesome to have a big event under that instead of fireworks. Like I dunno, maybe get married under it or something, or celebrate new year.

Bit awkward I`d think trying to time it right.
