Seems like about 8 of them are aimed at children.

"...scuse me? Champagne of beer? Has to be an american writing that article."

Actually that happens to be their slogan. It`s printed on every bottle.

Take the time to research things before you bash a whole country please.

Tiredofnicks, Miller High Life has been claiming that they are the champange of beers for forever. Probally ever since the beer was invented. If you kept reading the article, im pretty sure the author actually states that they claim to be, and he never stated his opinion on if it is or not.

And i dont know what kind of kid buddy was, but i could only see 2 of those possibly being aimed at children.

St. Pauli girl was my favorite as well, flying_ltj. And the slogan, "You never forget your first girl," was positively brilliant.

I had no idea the Guinness mascot was a toucan. That doesn`t seem to make any sense.

How the St. Paulie Girl, a young blond with over sized breasts holding two big mugs of beer, didnt make the top ten blows my mind.

I had seen Johnny Walker, Jägermeister and Bacardi, I know what Guinness is, not a clue what the rest is.

Generations of High Lifers know her well, and they should: she’s been giving them the eye from the neck of The Champagne of Beers for a century."[/quote]

All I see aimed at children are the bear and the toucan. The other icons can`t possibly have been aimed at children, even to this day.

Heck, half of those icons were originally aimed at the working man of the time: Striding Man, Girl on the Moon, Capt. Morgan, and Mr. Boston. The idea was to get the working man thinking that if he drank this liquor, he`d be drinking the same thing that some posh rich guy was drinking.

Oh, and true death is a shot of 151, without a chaser.

Skunk? Shanir, what the hell are you talking about?? )-|

I just remembered, some of my favourite pubs have those old-fashioned Guiness posters (except for Big Chief Toucan, naturally). Now I understand the one with all the animals on it.

I read a book once, well, several times, it`s my favorite, and it talks about Johnny Walker. "When I was a little kid, I used to look at the empty bottles she`d leave on the coffee table. I used to look at the picture of Johnny Walker on the label, this dandy with a monocle marching off somewhere, grinning. I like him, I wondered why he was so happy. The look on his face mad me imagine that he knew some funny secret, some inside joke. Looking at the picture years later, I understood what he thought was so funny. I got the joke, but it wasn`t too funny to me"
