I think he [the homeless guy] tried to punch the manager first. Man, the manager must take Krav Maga.

Wow, everyone who calls people that they don`t know (who happen to be homeless) worthless or disgusting are complete wastes of human life.

No one on Earth chooses to be homeless. It happens to most from horrible circumstances out of their control. Trust me.

You don`t really know what happened...I mean that guy could have come in a couple more times bothering the employees/customers.

But that doesn`t mean all homeless people are spawn of the devil. I half hope that all of you people who treat the homeless like dirt someday can see what it`s like to live like that.

"I do admit that some of these people live on the streets cause they are to proud to except help from family members and such"

WTF? "they are to proud to except help"? First off, it should be: "they are TOO proud to ACCEPT help". Second of all (a double WTF nonetheless), how can you be proud of yourself for not accepting help when you are living on the streets? Seriously, you aren`t doing any better for yourself, just accept the damn help. That`s like being proud for not taking a vaccination or receiving any medical care at age 8 because your family would have had to pay for it, then dying from severe tetanus or botulism three weeks later. It doesn`t make you independent or self-reliant, it makes you a dumbass.

If they were actually taking the steps to get themselves out of their homelessness, THEN I would grant their sense of pride as valid. "Help" doesn`t have to be a crutch, your actions can make it a boost.

Actually, Homeless is all the rage on the catwalks of Milan. Homeless is in this fall.
And you`ll get your GAP flyer in the mail soon enough, with pre-stained shirts, pre-sweated sweaters, etc.

i laughed more at HailSeitan`s post then the actual video. bum.

"It can happen to anyone. Most people are indeed one missed paycheck away from street life."

if this was true, there would be a lot more people on the streets. most homeless people are that way due to some addiction that makes it impossible for them to function in normal society or hold a job. there are a few exceptions but for the most part it`s drug or alcohol addiction.

and i doubt that many of the posters here are "silver-spooned bigots." i personally have worked hard all my life to get where i am now. i`ve been poor enough to be on welfare but worked multiple jobs to pull myself up. just because someone is financially independent doesn`t mean that money was handed to them. most people worked long and hard for it. you come off sounding like a bitter ex-bum. get over it.

I`ve been homeless.

And its no walk in the f*ckin park. I refused to stay at a shelter, largely because its filled with junkies and the insane. And for most homeless people, its much easier and safer to sleep in a damn dumpster.

If you dont have a home, you probally dont have a phone, which means you cant get a job. If you do have a job, it takes MONTHS to save for an apartment. Its the cost of living, not laziness that gets people.

Its very tiring. You dont sleep too well, eat dumpstered pizza, and walk all day. Then you gotta worry about your safety and invisibility from others for the night, as well as rain and cops.

It can happen to anyone. Most people are indeed one missed paycheck away from street life. And i`d f*ckin laugh so hard if i saw some of you silver-spooned bigots out there...

Spanging for 20,000 a year huh? Have you ever spanged befor? Do you even know what the hell your talking about?

Hey I do know what I am talking about. We do have homeless people, just not that many. Plus the subject is part of my course `social agogics` at the university. I have done some fair research on this subject for a paper just a year ago. And i refuse to believe that most of these are living on the streets out of free will.
Have you ever appalied for a job or some kind of wellfare? Then you should know they allways ask where you live. If it turns out you dont have any home, no work or wellfare for you in most cases.
Besides, have you ever seen a homeless guy who looks healthy? Living on the streets just isn`t healthy and not good for your mental state too. Do you really think these people are all willing to sacrifice their health just so they can be lazy as hell?
I do admit that some of these people live on the streets cause they are to proud to except help from family members and such, so i cant speak for the population, but i refuse to believe they are all just lazy ass bums

Look at all the people who went out of their way just to explain the basis of Quizno`s existence; did they just not read the 1-3 people above them who had already accomplished the same task? Or did it just take them that long to type their response? I can understand being disinclined to reading the entire thread when there`s 4 - 20 pages or something, but this is the first page with 16 posts even counting my own! Just goes to show you how lazy the 13 - 17 bracket has become these days...

Ummm, Barth. Why didn`t you just watch the fricken clip instead of trying to figure it out by reading stupid comments?

Annnd on that note, I really don`t think that the guy was a manager. Quizno`s managers have to wear that black polo shirt with the Quizno`s logo on it. That guy clearly wasn`t. Managers also don`t punch homeless people in the face, that`s what the police are for.

Something tells me that this was a regular guy trying to go get a sandwich after a homeless guy was heckling him outside. He probably told him to go fcuk himself and the bum got mad. Then the bum followed him into Quizno`s and attempted to punch him out of anger but the guy knocked him down and said "Get a fcking job! Let me eat my sandwich!"

That`s my interpretation. I think it makes more sense. However, you can make up your own quote.

after reading through the first few pages, its relle hard for me to get a good idea of what exactly happened, so ill just assume that the homeless guy walked in, may have been taunted or approached agressively and decided to throw a punch only to end up getting knocked down and then he left, looks like hes fit enough to work in my opinion and therefore i cant feel sorry for him being homeless, because even on minimum wage you can get a roof over your head if you go to a cheaper part of town, but the way the situation played out, i would have expected the manager to either ask him if he would like to order something, if not then he should have asked him to leave the establishment, if not then he should have threatened to warn authorities, if the bastard still stays he should have done what he did, but then again i dont know exactly what went on

@ celia. please shut up. if you don`t have homeless people in your country then you don`t have a clue what you`re talking about.

homeless people don`t deserve respect. give them a place to live? wtf are homeless shelters for? our tax dollars built it for them. why don`t they go there? it`s crowded? it`s not supposed to be permanent, but some of them just stay there like it is. and oh, it`s because it`s easier to beg on the street. in houston, our mayor had a PSA TELLING people not to give money to "encourage" homeless people to go to these shelters. do you know how much a homeless person averages in a year in a place like, oh, say vegas? $20,000. that`s pretty damn good for just asking around for money. and hah, our welfare system intending to "help" out those people, man, it`s taken advantage of left and right. the majority of them WANT to live like that, because it`s much much easier than cleaning themselves up and being "productive" in society.

I knew we`d see people that consider the homeless to be worthless, dirty, lazy drunks. Those people are right.
And some people who think that homeless people are just normal people down on their luck. Those people are right, too.
It`s amazing, but there are actually different types of homeless!
A LOT of them, yes, are people who are addicted to something, and any money you give them is just another fix of heroin.
But yeah, some of them are people who are just uneducated and have a troubled background so no one wants to hire them, or people with a mental disorder and they can`t function normally in society without some help, but everyone just assumes they`re a drug addict and tells them to just go get a job.
Do a lot of homeless people need to suck it up, go into rehab, and seriously, just get a job?
Yes.
Are there plenty of homeless out there that just have a hard life and it`s difficult to just pull yourself out of the poverty hole? Yes.

By the way, I am not intolerant towards homeless people, I am intolerant of drunk bums and drug junkies who mooch off of the system and try to guilt hardworking people into supporting their filthy habits.

And quite honestly, that is the majority of homeless people. There are some people who are simply down on their luck and can`t get a break, but pretending that the majority of homeless people are like that is a complete delusion and will only serve to make the problem worse.

All these b*tches are complaining how the `homeless` guy was mistreated, etc.
From what we saw the rough looking guy started it, and the manager had every right to hit him. If it was a guy in a biz suit you wouldn`t feel bad about it. Just because he`s homeless doesn`t mean he deserves to be tolerated or allowed to punch another person without repercussions.

You try to throw a punch and you`re showing that you think you`re able to attack a person no matter how weak or rough you look.

WTF?? i`am sorry but that goes way over the top, beggers and homeless people are human too and deserve a least some respect? Why are so many of you so intollerant towards homeless people?? Most of them are just people who had some sort of very bad fortune in life. And instead of just shunning these people, the american government better do something about the situation. You don`t see such high poverty rates here in Europe(At least not in Belgium). But then agian maybe its because our social security doesnt suck that much. Why dont they give these people a place to live and get them a job or education, so they can become productive members of society again?won`t that be better in the long run?

LOL... You may have a point there. Actually, I`ve had a homeless guy beg me for money in a Quiznos in Atlanta before. He handed me a napkin with a sob story written on it about how he was a Vietnam War veteran with aids and so on and so on.

The cops have way better things to do than pick up a homeless guy and throw him in the drunk tank. I live in a city with a lot of homeless people and 95% of the time they will leave when you approach them.

I don`t see it as unprofessional, in fact, I see it as part of the manager`s job. If I were serving in a restaurant and some customer was grabbing my butt or making me uncomfortable I would expect my manager to talk to the customer and kick him out if need be, I wouldn`t expect the manager to call the cops and wait for them to deal with it.

You can`t really offer an opinion without knowing the whole story. Maybe the guy has caused repeated problems there. Maybe he`s not even homeeless, just scruffy looking. It seems unlikely that someone would just walk up to a man who came into their business and punch him without any sort of prior history.

^^^ Well if he comes into your place of business and does nothing but cause trouble, then attempts to punch you...he pretty much deserved it.

Not to mention if he`s in good enough health to walk into this shop and start throwing punches, he can get a job.

While the homeless guy threw the first punch, I think what the manager did was tremendously unprofessional. He approached the guy instead of calling the cops. I`ll probably be called weak, but that`s just not something he should have done.

"Look at all the people who went out of their way just to explain the basis of Quizno`s existence; did they just not read the 1-3 people above them who had already accomplished the same task? Or did it just take them that long to type their response? I can understand being disinclined to reading the entire thread when there`s 4 - 20 pages or something, but this is the first page with 16 posts even counting my own! Just goes to show you how lazy the 13 - 17 bracket has become these days..."

dude, if laziness were the case they wouldn`t have taken the time to explain to someone what a quizno`s is. i can`t believe it bothered you that bad that people are trying to be helpful that you had to complain about it.

You would have to know the hole story to be able to comment on this fairly.

Maybe they were just adding on their own insights on Quiznos.
But you`re right, Suicism, they`re just too lazy to even read previous comments.

The homeless are a step above rats; step below dogs and cats.

Word.

I wonder at the story behind this. And Quiznos is a coolies sandwich shop, like a more expensive Subway, Unkownbeing.

.... It`s actually really hard to tell.

The Quizno`s guy came in the picture with his hands up, but I can`t tell if he`s doing that aggressively. We`d have to know what he`s saying I guess.

The homeless guy definitely throws the first punch though.
