Well, SOMEBODY has to, since so many Americans DON`T know how to behave.

Now mix it with the gelatin powder and add water. Instant jello shots for all. Including the minors?

work is the scourge of the drinking class!
but it`s kinda sad how the world has to depend on alchohal and friends. (not literally friends, an expression)
o well. unless we take out constitutional rights, we`ll prob never stop underage drinking in the US

Notice how most of the criticism of this and low age limits is coming from Americans? All you henny pennys seeing this product or <21 laws as the pinnacle of moral decay and a gateway to powdered crack and murder need to get some friggin perspective. Our law of 21 is pretty arbitrary and places where it`s lower aren`t sin riddled playgrounds of satan or anything.

This powdered dealie sounds to me like the alcohol version of a BB gun. Sure, you COULD get all frantic about how it`s a firearm and a gateway to an apocalyptic Lord of the Flies world of destruction and mayhem, but then you`d be an hysterical douchebag.

Most kids are drawn to drinking and smoking BECAUSE they`re taboo and it `prooves` to the world just how rebellious and non-conformist they are. Making alcohol a more mundane presence in kids` lives might do some good.

I`m less worried about teens getting drunk on 2 gallons of kool aid than I am about passing too many laws to `protect` people from their own stupidity.

Xlune, maybe I do live in a different area. Yes of course there are lots of children drinking at a young age, but that`s not the fault of alcohol. And added to that, i live in a village...if you live in a city, you will probably have more experience with this problem..

I live in a village all the way down south (noord brabant) very small, near roosendaal and me and my friend are around 16/15 i just turned 16. We all got wasted many times, i`m on top of the chart tough :P and 2 of them even had an alcohol poisening the first on, he was 15 but the other guy was only 14 :O and if he was brought to the hospital a half hour later he died for sure.

btw, No, I`m not overprotected ;) I just had a good up bringing. My parents knew, excluding me from alcohol would just make experiementing more fun, but they knew where to set their boundries.

And, I ment, really get wasted, he! Not just a drink every now and then!

Lyannovitch, I don`t know where you live, but not near me I guess. In the Netherlands, yes they do drink a lot at very young ages. And its not just a small group. everyone does that, the tolerance level is just too high. Well, not everyone gets entirely wasted or sth, but they have had their first parties with lots of alcohol before they turn 13 or something. If you didn`t, than you belong to the extremely small group of children who are maybe overprotected, or you live in a different environment.
Btw, you`re right, no one will buy this in holland, the breezer mix things don`t even sell because it`s not cool enough to bee seen drinking one of those. and that has what.. 7 or 9 % or so ..
all of my friends, including me, have been wasted before we were 16.

YAY for drunk children!! Thats seriously what we all need!! I am sure pedo`s `round the world would have a field day. BUT I am sure with only 3% it would take quite a bit of it to do any damage . There are also whats known as `lightweights` so it might just work!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!
*sarcasm*

Oke people, In the netherlands, you have to be 16 to be allowed to drink. If you are caught drinking and you are underaged, you are in trouble. But just like in any other country, it`s not like the dutch have there children drunk at the age of 15 or below. Some children are very hard to handle it seems.
Me and really all of my friends had only drunken a glass of wine at christmas dinner and maybe a party, before we were 16.
It is easy to think that just because a small group of people start drinking at an early age, the entire dutch population does it as well..

Bull**** of course. And with underaged children, they do not mean toddlers or young school children, but 12,13,14,15 year olds.....This is a good idea.. They`d better be drinking this low alcohol cr*p, then beer, wine and spirits!

You can`t prevent children from trying things out. So this way, they try something, which doesn;t cause much trouble/damage.
Anyway, I`m sure this won`t be a big hit, in Holland!

This is completely worded wrong, the students didn`t invent anything, they just created a new variation, powered alcohol has been around for a long time.

i wish i could drink "legally" at 16.
But at least America has done one smart thing setting the drinking age to a reasonable age. I couldn`t imagine what life would be like with a bunch of immature kids running around getting trashed.

Well its only 16 for soft drinks like beer, breezer and up to wine. For stronger liquors you have to be 18.

thats terrible, and even the driking age being so young is terrible. i cant believe that there would be a law that you can drink at 16. 21 here is still too young. and i cant believe companies are actually interested in it. it makes me sick.

I live in the netherlands :)
it`s quite normal for 13 year olds to drink beer here, at least, i started to drink it around that age.

Yeah that´s a pretty normal drinking age to start in the netherlands. I´m 16 now so i´m finally allowed to buy beer in the supermarkets etc. but before then you can get it very easily in disco´s and the supermarkets never ask for I.D. I started drinking around 11 and i love it! Drunk every saturday and my brain doesn´t like it hahah

There is no such thing in America, so the article is wrong. It would also be illegal for minors as it is still alcohol. For drats sake you have to be over 21 here to by liqour chocolates. On that same note, bacardi or budweiser came out with a product that was a shot in a colorful bottle. It was removed from the market, "because it was tempting kids" to get alcohol illegally.

See this is how the U.S. works. Our government has to tell us what to do all the time or we might not know how to behave.

That is drated up poo man. It`s called Alcopop in my country (Belgium). So children can drink this like a lemonade and have alcohol poisening. Unlike with beer or liquor you have to put effort in that to drink yourself to death.
