Funny skit but I gotta admit it does sound like how a lot of people think. My friend actually works for a call centre that does Credit Card customer service and she`s said about half of the people that call in don`t have any understanding as to how the credit system works. She`s even had people call in and ask for more money because they went over their limit and honestly didn`t know they had to pay that money back.

Seriously, I don`t have a credit card myself but could probably use one for emergencies so I don`t find them to be as bad as some people might. I just know that there is always a cost attached to these sorta things.

Hahaha stupid people spending money they don`t have! Now I`m gonna buy a new car. Right after I leave my work at McDonald`s and pick up my 4 kids!

I feel sorry for everyone that suffer because of people that do this.

this clip is classic. most the AMERICANS think it`s stupid, but they`re the stupid ones! we keep handing our money to credit card companies! I mean, sure, credit cards are nice, but people think that the minimum payment is all that they need to pay for!

this is satire people, bad acting was the point

Yes, funny. Because of:
(A) Steve Martin.
(B) The repetition of a simple concept.
(C) It`s true.

Funny and True.

My sister`s like that; she wants something, we tell her she can`t have it because we don`t have the money for it, and then she gets angry because she believes that somewhere deep in the laws of physics there is a rule that lets you buy stuff even if you don`t have money.

Steve Martin makes anything funny. It`s too bad most people won`t get the idea they are trying to give in this video.

I forget the exact percent but overall Americans spend more than they make...it`s like .7 percent or something...thus we`re constantly in debt.

the main reason this skit is funny is that it is so true... plus it has steve martin in it, you can`t have steve martin and not be funny

*sigh*, some people just don`t seem to understand humor, the reason it`s funny is because they keep repeating the same thing. this stresses the fact that they don`t understand such a simple concept as don`t spend money you don`t have, which seems to be a big problem with about %80 of people in the world.

and spitebaby, there is no way people would be able to live "fine" without money, unless of course you were willing to move to africa and live with one of those hunter and gatherers, they seem to live fine.
the thing is that the world and the economy has grown so large and complex that no one person or family could possibly perform all the tasks needed to live comfortably, we need money to pay other people to perform the services that we are unable to do and vice versa

How to make a modern skit:

1. Come up with a good premise. Use this premise to create a vaguely amusing punchline.

2. Create a lead in to the punchline--the shorter the better. As soon as possible, insert the punchline. Then repeat this punchline over and over again until the skit ends: to encourage proper audience response, the punchline should get louder and more obnoxious every time it is said.

3. "Hilarity" points are assigned based on the number of times you manage to say the same thing over and over again before the audience stops laughing and boos you offstage.

4. For extra bonus points, make this skit part of a series, and air "new" versions of the same skit every six months, or whenever you run out of ideas.

Sigh...it *could* have been funny, y`know...

Yeah, those people moving into those new giant houses that come company tore down your local woods to build aren`t as rich as they seem.

I do not even care right now. People would be completely fine without money. And the fact that you`ve just tried to justify money with an RPG game, Kyur, makes me laugh.

P.S I`ve watched this clip so many times and I laugh so hard each time...

Also paper money only hold power because the government says it does. That is out type of currency. It use to be backed up by silver but then people traded for the silver and when the money dropped down would sell it and wait for money to raise. Yay for economics.

"How about we all do our own work and make what we need? It`s called surviving... People have done it before then they got lazy..."

That`s stupid. It`s better to specialize. Play an rpg and you would learn that. It applies to real life as well. I would rather work with a team of varying skills then with a bunch of jack of all trades.

Classic Steve Martin!
I think my favorite part is that its SATYRICAL (not spelled right, I know) and meant to be FUNNY and there are those here who are ruffled because they think that its a real book, omg, rotflmfao.

"Money`s a dumb concept.

Hey, let`s give pieces of paper to people for stuff so they can have pieces of paper for people for their stuff.

Why that`s genius and in no way can that take a turn for the worse..."

So whats the alternative then? Just let people have what they want? Then people wouldn`t do jobs because there`s no need for money.
Either that or ration everybody to have the same things. Money is the only way.

So if I have the money I buy stuff?--Yep-- Ok now take the money away. Same story?

Money`s a dumb concept.

Hey, let`s give pieces of paper to people for stuff so they can have pieces of paper for people for their stuff.

Why that`s genius and in no way can that take a turn for the worse...

A whole industry in the US relies on normal people getting more debts than they can ever afford. In fact customers that can`t afford to pay back are the best customers because they are yours forever. And everybody is working towards it to bankrupt the average citizen. We still have to learn so much from you oh glorious USA *G*

I`m... *sigh* If only it weren`t such a truth. Not only the concept of `credit` in America but the fact we need books to tell us pretty basic concepts.. oh god, I think someone moved my cheese, now what do I do!??! ...yeah.
