Reminds me of that one episode of the X-Files when a strange fungus was growing out of people`s heads. D: Only difference was that it would explode over time and then spread its fungyness over to the next victim.

Woot :

Oh dearie me. I suppose you have studied evolution in detail for five years at a well-known scientific university.

Incidentally , all mutations are not bad. As an organism becomes more complex it becomes more likely that they will be. With bacteria, a mutation in a plasmid ( a small ring of dna which functions independantly from the main chromosome ) will often make it able to synthesise a new protein, which is likely to help it in some way. If not, theres plently more bacteria where that came from. The reason that most mutations in humans and other complex animals are damaging is that we are much more complex and changin one protein systhesis will have a knock-on effect on the rest of the body.

Even so , not all mutations are bad. An example is the mutation in Europeans and other Westerners which allow us to digest milk. Many people from the far east cannot do this. We evolved this as our climate allowed us to farm, whereas in the middle east the lifestyle was nomadic

Woot45 [char limit reached] if you researched evolution for about five years, in total depth, you would realized that there is NO way that it`s possible. ALL mutations are bad. ever seen a deformed baby? that`s a mutation. ever seen a deformed baby do something good with its deformity? your whole evoultion concept is based on deformities. if something mutates, the same thing as being deformed, it either dies or is a weakling/has mental problems. if you`re a smart person, you won`t believe in evoultion and you`ll go accept Christ.

lol
so... the flu virus, mutating constantly is what allows it to survive
we are worried about bird flu mutating to infect humans easily
some bacteria can digest nilon now (which wasnt around 6000 years ago, or whenever bacteria was created)
(these i know off the top of my head.. im sure theres more relevant examples if you look into it)

and if evolution is disproved, i know its not to be christ i belive in

I`m sorry, does nobody else care about what Abacab said?

"I swear, 70% of the time when I look at comments and one pisses me off, it`s a European."

0.o not cool
-----------------
I know... That was really xenophobic there, but I was just really pissed and I guess people don`t think as well as usual when they`re in that state.

It was really a horribly bigoted thing to say, but I think there is a lot of tension between the United States and a lot of European nations right now because of the war in Iraq...

But that`s still no excuse as I said. I hope you accept this apology because I really was angry at one European in particular and I didn`t want to offend the cool Europeans, because they are out there. No matter what continent we`re from, we`re all the same. I`m sorry.

REPOSTREPOSTREPOSTREPOSTROFLREPOST mkay, got that out of my system. Anyhoo, this thing is pretty creepy, and I love how smart the ants are about it. They make sure to move them FAR away from the colony, which is pretty cool. I wonder if the army will do research on how the fungus works and make a weapon out of it...

you do relize that the fungus mildly controls the bugs, if this thing contunes it`ll eventually evolved and fuse with these bugs. Before you know it, fungal beasts will lurk in the great depths of the rain forest, kidnapping people so that the mother fungal spore can slowly take in there terified faces.

THis and several others like it were posted at the beginning of this year. There were the grasshoppers, ants, and worms. Also interesting was a post where scientists implanted stuff in a bird`s brain to control it. I guess that makes humanity the parasites. Still facinating.

Jebler: Just because you don`t understand evolution (or don`t want to) doesn`t mean that`s proof for it`s non-existence. The origin of religion is the fact that people are afraid of things they don`t understand which obviously affects the more gullible ones much easier.

Then again Creationists are more into believing and premature thinking than reasoning and probabilities ;)
----------------
I myself am a theistic evolutionist, and if you don`t know what that is, look it up.

You really are an asswipe for insulting somebody`s religion outwardly like that. It`s not cool. If somebody`s Jewish I don`t say, "I think Judaism is just for obsessive compulsive idiots who think pigs are evil," because that would hurt them on a level far out of reach for people who don`t know about God.

And a European. I swear, 70% of the time when I look at comments and one pisses me off, it`s a European.

The internet`s most deadly fungus: Reposticeps Fungus. It infects random members of the online community, giving them the inexplicable urge to post something that has already been posted. This fungus is known to be contagious, so other users attempt to destroy it by typing "omg repost", "repost", "teh repostzors", etc. Sources of the fungus is unknown, but experts speculate that it is caused by a combination of fatigue, fat, and bladder levels, leaving a fat internet addict five times more likely to be infected than the average citizen. Stay alert, this could happen to you or anyone you know.

I don`t know if God exists, I`m in no position to say, but if He does, He`s a colossal dickhead.

As unlikely as this kind of evolution might sound, I find it even less likely that The Invisible Sky Wizard created every species of Cordyceps to attack their respective insects. I think it would be far less time consuming to hire one of His angels just to watch over the jungle and kill off a few of every species now and then rather than leaving it to chance.

Come on, He needs something to destroy if He`s not encouraging His followers to rape and pillage the innocent civilians after a battle.

some dumbass scientist should genetically engineer it to affect humans. smart people do that kind of dumb thing all the time.

this is a good example of something that i cant imagine evolving. unguided evaluation in a world without some god-like figure leading to a parasitic fungus that can grow in a ants head and put pressure on the right area or whatever it does to alter its behavior in a way to benefits it doesnt seem possible to me.
