Wow, dang another Asian takes the piano and scares the shat out of us.
I swear, if you look now a days all the Asians are amazing piano players and crap liek that from an amazing young age.
I remeber there was liek a 6 year old kid that played liek this 1 and he never watched TV

For those who always say "I knew she would be asian"
Well, its not that asian people throw their lives away, its that they are more able to concentrate their skills. Unlike most american citizens who waste most of their spare time playing video games and watching tv.
If you spent all the time you spend watching tv playing piano, you`d be a hell of a lot better off

I always took the veiw that it was better to have a social life at a young age than grade 6 in piano. This veiw has served me well.

hmm...she`s pretty much technically perfect, but she seems to not quite have the emotion. Technicality is great, but that`s not quite what gives life to music...but kudos, she`s pretty darn good. She can use this technical skill and hopefully later add emotion.

That`s not Chopin. That`s part of Reinhold`s 23rd Opus, if I`m not much mistaken. If we`ve established this, you have my apologies.

Still. Very talented pianist.

"The name of the piece is indeed "Impromptu in C sharp minor Op.28 No.3". Just not Chopin, but Hugo Reinhold. If you had read what it said on YouTube, you would have seen that."

I know, I recognize that, and in my haste I failed to study the detailed description in assuming it was Chopin, for as I mentioned I had been surfing Chopin-related links for quite sometime. I am truly sorry for my indiscretion, and any discomfort which it might have caused you or others.

"The first song seems to be Revolutionary Etude. Now, I don`t play the piano, but I know that song very well. It was very difficult to recognize it, but I`m pretty sure that`s what it was suposed to be.
She`s definitely not playing that song right. I mean she`s insanely skilled, but I know the song and she`s far off."

ok, if your right, then she`s horrible at it. but i highly doubt it was the revolutionary atude. i`ve played it before, it sounds nothing like that, the entrance is different, the notes are different, i`m sorry, but your wrong

This song ISN`T by Chopin, it`s the Impromptu in C-Sharp Minor by Reinhold.

She`s playing it too slowly and doesn`t have enough dynamics or emotion, but she`s pretty good for a 9 year old. I learned this piece when I was 9 as well, it`s somewhat challenging but not terribly so if one is diligent.

i agree with what Suicism said, although he couldve been nicer about it. the song was written by Chopin who was Polish, not Asian, and was a wiz at the piano. I can play one of many of his songs since ive only played for 3 years. However, being asian doesnt have anythingto do with it, it just takes skill and patience which some people (no names please) cant appreciate

I would be a lot more concerned about that girl if she wasn`t smiling durring parts of it.

And I just want to put in that I agree with piano70. Sterotypes are always negative, even ones that may display posotive traits. Many aisans (please kill me for my spelling) are talented, but it isn`t because they are aisan, it is because they work to achieve this. So go pound sand up your non-nice individuals.

Sigh. I can`t belive that the civil war is over already and I`m still hearing the "Oh, she`s asian, so she has to be good" stories. Just because most asians you see are good don`t mean that all of them are good. Think about all of the others stuck in China! They don`t have to be all good! Plus, when people say things like that, all the teachers and our coaches expect us to insanly well. They push us and push us too far, and get mad when we don`t do well. And I`m not bragging, but I think that`s why we appear so smart. No genetics or anything. ZoKtorR is right, the qualtiy of humanity is declining...

However, my only mistake was taking this header at face-value, under an incorrect context, and my only wish is that Buddy rename it "9 year-old plays Hugy Reinhold; you need only attend to the exposition..."

It is still equally amazing, nonetheless.

Well, I`m sorry that my post has somehow exacerbated your already-existing despondency toward Humanity.

Was the piece really by Hugo Reinhold? That`s interesting...

"you just assume that this is Chopin, based on... nothing?"

No, based on this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pt_PYw0R_...

The heading reads "Impromptu in C sharp minor Op.28 No.3"

I apparently wrongfully assumed that this was a work of Chopin, for at the time I had been surfing such related links; I am sorry for my misconception, and that does not make Sarah`s objection anymore valid. It is still not anywhere CLOSE to the Revolutionary etude (though I do recognize her introductory familiarity with such a work as marginally impressive), and my nit-picky gaffe does not excuse that.

You obviously have no idea of what you`re talking about: this piece isn`t even by Chopin, but by Hugo Reinhold.

You want to look smart and embarass others in the process; SarahofBorg`s mistake was an excellent opportunity for you to display your superiority. But alas, you yourself are guilty of what you accuse others of: you just assume that this is Chopin, based on... nothing? Then you add a little white lie to make yourself sound more sophisticated: you say that it is "one of his his largely unrenowned impromptus", referring to Chopin at that. Again, it isn`t Chopin; a little googlin` reveals that this is Hugo Reinhold.

"Shame on you! Now start attending your Piano lessons more regularly!"
You really aren`t at all in a position to say such things to a person. Not if you`re dead wrong yourself.

Reading posts like yours makes me feel sad about humanity.

I loved that; really enjoyed listening to it.

I played the piano for about 4 years or something; got to about grade 4, realised I was simply terrible at playing and gave up. It`s sad, I really wish I could play it but I find it so hard to read music.

For anyone who`s interested, here is the Revolutionary Etude by Chopin; it is quite distinct from this impromptu both in exposition quality and development:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mk1JQk90U...

And here`s an `impressive if not impossible` display of that very fantasie as presented by a 7-year-old for you, teph!

Sarah of Borg: the REVOLUTIONARY etude is Op. (that stands for OPUS) 10, no. 12. This piece is one of his largely unrenowned impromptus, classified as Op. 28 no. 3 in C# (the # stands for `sharp...`) minor. Get your catalogues right; all it would have taken for you to have AVOIDED this little admonishment would have been a little REFERENCE to the catalogue of the piece at hand (right there in black and white on YouTube`s descriptive header of this submission) vs. that which you were presuming it to be! Shame on you! Now start attending your Piano lessons more regularly!

And for all those people saying "no wonder she`s Azian..." guess what? The piece was written by a White person... get over it.
By the way, my original caption was: "Chopin according to a 9 year-old; you need only attend to the exposition..." guess he (Buddy) thought it would so effortlessly breeze above your heads as to be unworthy of mention, huh?
