I recognize the second guy, Tommy Graves aka War Catalyst in City of Heroes. Don`t think I`ve teamed with him before, but I know the name. Cool seeing so many "City of" players. There a site you can go to called CoHFaces, it`s the same deal, the real life people behind the characters, though suspicion (okay, and common sense) leads me to believe some of them aren`t really who they say they are.

i`ve been playing WoW for awhile now.. and im a female and my main`s a female char.

It kinda sucks cuz you tend to get hit on a lot.. and there`s a lot of creepsters out there. I have made male characters on some servers to avoid the getting hit on.. but it`s still kind of a problem on vent.

I personally don`t have it that bad.. but i`ve heard really bad cases with girls getting majorly discriminated on raids and such just because of their gender. i think thats pretty messed up.

also i can sometimes see why guys choose to play female characters.. i just hate it when they pretend to actually be female.. they need to fess up instead of living a lie.. even if it is a video game.

In fact, here`s a fun exercise I did for a while:
If you can do push-ups, or sit ups or anything fairly strenuous, try doing them during the commercials. As soon as the commercials start, till when they stop. Kinda like a drinking game.

If you can`t do it, perhaps it`s a sign you watch too much TV.

"How can anyone spend xxxx hours playing games?!"

The average individual American watched four hours and 35 minutes a day of television last year.

That`s over 32 hours a week for the average American.

I can`t source this, but ages ago a friend told me he didn`t understand how I found time to go to the gym or pray (Muslim 5 times a day thing). Turns out he spends more time watching TV *commercials* than I did for both combined.

I used to play Wow, not really as much now, in all honesty the actual game play isn`t that good, it has to be played with other people, I have to constantly talk to people at all times, the fact that it`s an MMO is it`s only redeeming feature."

Uhh, do you have ANY idea what MMO means? MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER ONLINE, that MEANS you have to interact with people, and no, you don`t need people for everything, there`s plenty of solo content and plenty of group/raid content, unless your Nihilum and beat everything the week its released :P

I don`t get anyone who can spend over 40 hours playing games. That`s like a normal work week, but you`re not even getting paid for your time. Just seems like a waste to me.

Though I do like to play sims 2 occasionally.

I`m supposed to care why exactly? Some of them sort of looked like the people, but only because of things like hairstyles and accessories (glasses, jewelry, etc.)

I was glad to see the guy with the respirator being able to play, it has to be tough to live like that. But I`m sorry, the fat guy who was listed as a "student" who played 55 hours a week (he was #5) is just sad. He needs to get out and get a life. He`ll be dead by the time he`s 30 if he keeps that up. Playing games online is fine but he can`t have time for a social life in the real world if he plays that much, and he has nothing holding him back like the guy with the respirator.

I`d usually make my WoW characters according to their class, not what I look like. For example, my paladin had golden hair and a serene espression, while my warrior had a brown, military haircut and a battleworn face. Case and point, that first guy from "city of heroes" got his guy down perfectly.

Very interesting....Makes you wonder how people view themselves. My avatars have always looked like me. That probably being an orc, of course.

Heh I dunno why people complain about female characters being played by males. They don`t necessarily mean anything.

Most of my characters are male, but I do have some female characters (E.g. I think the female trolls look better than the male, and wanted to try a Troll character).

Thing is, sure, I`m not a female. That character is female.
I`m also not a Troll Shaman/Orc Hunter/Undead Priest/Blood Elf Warlock/etc.

I think the reason people complain is they`ve been hitting on someone (or given them lots of free stuff) in the hopes of some hot cyb0r only to find out they`re the wrong gender. ;)

(Any girl gamers out there who play male characters to not be hit on? I know I found that annoying playing my female char.)

Why do some men still pickup women figures in games? In Linage2 a friend of mine picked a Dark Elf female char so that he could look at her behind whyle fighting but has far has i can think he was the only one giving me a real reason.

Heh, I used to play WoW for about... yeah ~50 hours a week seems about right when I came back from England. Decided to take 6 months off working, fiance was in another country for a while.

I dunno how people manage to do it while being employed though. :)

Um, just to be clear. I didn`t take off 6 months off work TO play World of Warcraft. I took some time off to relax and bought WoW.
