I think you are all thinking way too much into this. He zoomed in so you could see what he was painting, why would he show the whole body so you couldn`t really see what he was doing? that would ruin the point of the video.

even if it is fake, a child that displays artistic abilities this incredible is generally autistic

it is not an opinion, and though i know the application of this topic in this particular subject is slightly off, i merely wish to point out that the people that have tried to apply it are not completely wrong though need to expand their knowledge slightly more about it

To Rednine : sorry for getting angry , I just wanted to squash the autism theory asap , and you were the most recent person to mention it.

I know you only said he was a savant, but savants are ( with literally a couple of exceptions ) autistic.

anyway sorry ;-)

Now that I think of it...even if the kid WAS a prodigy or a savant, there`s no way in hell a 3-year-old knows anything about highlights, tones and shading. There`s just no way. A 3-year-old is still in the process of learning daily life to know what shades go where and what-have-you.

Besides, he stuck his fingers in multiple colors and by some twist of fate only one color appears.

And he got the name wrong. Any prodigy would know who he was painting.

Wow. He applied shading with cool tones and highlights with warm tones. I didn`t learn that until 10th grade.

Actually bjbj1991, there is a watercolor `paper` that is glossy. It`s called Yupo Paper, and it`s actually made of plastic and doesn`t actually absorb the water.

Back on the subject though, that kid is amazing. If its real, then I really think that he`s going to be a artistic genius when he`s older. Love the pointillism style too.

Fake because when the hand is painting it looks all concentrated and steady and unnatural for a toddler, but when they do a full shot of him his hand and arm is bouncing around.

blipflip, I did not once call him autistic. Maybe I shouldn`t have sounded like I was sure he was a savant, but the fact still stands I was pointing out that he COULD have been a savant. Before you accuse me of being stupid, read the post through.
But I didn`t analyze the video to death because I have a life. But I DO agree, there was not one shot of the kid and the painting hand being attached. All we see is a HIGH-SPEED video of a hand, and since it`s high-speed, little can be clearly deciphered. It`s a clever way of covering up a hoax.

Sure, I don`t see why it wouldn`t be, advertisements don`t have to be fake.

Even if it WASN`T real, my point still stands, people act like amazing things can never happen because they`re not able to do them, and it is OH so annoying.

Envyrain, I`m making a special post JUST for you.

First off, get a f*cking life, stop trolling the boards looking for people who actually go outside once in a while, and realize there could be more to life, and astounding things actually do happen.

Remember the autistic man who could draw that entire city 99.9% accurate after just one helicopter ride? If that isn`t mind blowing, I don`t know what is.

I don`t understand what your trying to prove, other than your a huge prick and no one likes you. The 3 year old or the dad isn`t seeing what you say, so it`d probably be a good idea for you to stop talking.. because you saying:

"Daft. Idiots. Blind. I hate you all, you gullible fools."

Doesn`t give us anything to do but laugh at you and your sad attempt to do.. whatever your trying to do.

Oh noez guys, I`m DAFT.

There always has to be some d*ck who is jealous so they have to deem it as fake. Seriously, do you guys ever leave your house and consider there MIGHT be more amazing things out there than your nightly internet porno runs through the internet? Just because you can`t do something, does not mean it`s fake, it means your a prick.

Do us all a favor, shut the hell up, and die.

Oh, and Donthaveone
"I can`t believe you people actually think this is real, you guys can`t be that stupid/gullable."

You spelled gullible wrong, I guess WE`RE the stupd ones eh?

I see more people are saying he`s autistic...very, very umlikely. Rednine, I`m looking at you. You talk nicely about something you clearly know little about. If he was autistic he wouldn`t be happily smiling away and chatting to his dad.Autism would have manifested itself by that age as well, so there`s no argument in saying he`s too young for those symptoms to show up. Savants are very rare, which is why there are so many TV documentaries about them. Incidentally, Jokay, a savant is not an autistic person, that is true , but all but a couple of savants are autistic.

If anybody else wants to make a comment about autism, read my other comment on page 4.

If you say something stupid I will come down on you like a ton of bricks.

Hmm,although this is probably faked there is a chance that it`s real. When I was in year 4 or so(Around the age of 9 or 10) we had this autistic kid in our class. He was crazy talented when it came to art, he could look at a drawing and copy it out pretty accurately. Especially if it was a cartoon or was in black and white. I know he was a lot older than 3 but that was still impressive!

Slayer. RedNine.

We`ve been talking about this as a HOAX the entire time. Yes, I know what a savant is. A savant is an autistic child, however, and this kid had normal speech patterns, which rule out that.

We`ve all gone over the evidence that says it`s fake fake fake. If you weren`t so lazy to READ the other comments, then you would know that.

And I want to point out AGAIN that if the boy said he was gonna paint Michelangelo, then he would have. Young kids are too picky to mix names up like that. He wouldn`t have painted Leonardo and called him Michelangelo.

ONLY IGNORANT FATHERS WOULD DO THAT. "Hmmm, nobody would notice anyway. Michelangelo, Leonardo, same thing."

These children are what scientists call "savants". They are children who have less brain activity in other areas of the brain, therefore they seem to have godly skills in specific areas. There have been millions of accounts of preschoolers drawing perfect horses, people, animals, planes, whatever! Other savants have the ability to decode complex mathematical equations while other older people cannot. Savants can be specialized in any given area of the brain, whether it be hand-eye coordination, art, math, music, whatever. Of course they can only specialize in one area, which is why this kis is only an artist. Although his speech seems well-formed; his parents were probably teaching him since birth...

It took me three years to get where this kid is; of course now I`m already past this skill level, but with a lot of practise, and I`m 14.

Seen it already.

You dont even see the kid actually paint and the camera always move and focus only on the hands.

The trick: The father did all the hard work of outlining the form of the painting and the kid just paint inside the lines. The father probably gave instruction to the kid ( Unless he used the arm of the kid as a paintbrush... is it really the kid arm or a fake? )

Some retouch when the kid is done and voila.

0
Reply
Female 1
Ok, seriously you guys... this is fake. As someone else pointed out before (don`t remember who) the hand doesn`t move. It`s like the hand of a doll or something, mixed with video of the kid sticking his fingers in paint and smiling at the camera. Notice how they never show him drawing it? Just his hand?

Good editing though, I`ll give them that.

Retarded. All of you.

Do you realize that the kid sticks ALL 5 fingers into the paint and kind of dabs them on when his full body is in view, but when only the hand is visible, he uses one finger?
Do you realize that it doesn`t show a single inch above his hand to his wrist? That`s because it`s being held.
Do any of you realize that a three year old hasn`t developed the perception needed in order to utilize shading when drawing? Nevermind even making the exact shapes with still-life references. A three-year old is barely in the stage where he can make a triangle, nevermind a fcking Leonardo.

THIS IS ALL A PROMO FOR THE NINJA TURTLES.

Also, since the kid said he was gonna draw Michelangelo, he WOULD`VE drawn Michelangelo. Kids are picky about that stuff. Clearly, the dad drew Leonardo, being the ignorant dick he is, because he thought it was Michelangelo. You don`t think this explains everything?

STOP PRAISING LIES.

Have you notice that the whole video almost is just focus on his hand and not the whole picture! kinda dubious. the parent could just be holding his arm and manuvering it. To me its nothing special

He`s definately not autistic. Autism is charcterised primarily with big, big social interaction problems. The kid is happily chatting away, smiling and talking coherently. I should know, my brother`s autistic.

I`m afraid it looks like they`ve spliced in some footage of a kid doing some finger painting with some footage of an arm ( an adult arm ) doing the real stuff. But I would be happy to be proved wrong.

Incidentally, from some of the comments I`ve seen here, some of you think that all Autists have some sort of gift. That`s not true at all, it`s just that that`s the only place you find those things.

"lara, just because we "saw" it, doesn`t mean it wasn`t edited in some way to look like he was doing it. to call the previous poster dumb for not being so gullible--that`s what is dumb."

Ok, my bad. Sorry for that BUT why O why can`t child that age be that good?? There are a lot of miracles in this world. A lot of people here LOVE the word Photoshop or Fake or whatever they want to say. There are plenty of people and children out in this magnificent world that CAN do this sort of thing and continue to be amazing while they are at it. So the child a small miracle and I thought that post was dumb. NOT the person was dumb, that was my fault.

probably cos he realises he has the time to take so long, kids that age think about more levels of detail, but thats amazing because he includes depth perceptions which he shouldn`t have developed so well at that time maybe!

He didn`t seem like a savant to me. If he was it wasn`t very extreme. His speech was too good, and with the painting and social skills it doesn`t quite fit. I think he`s just an amazing kid. :)

I don`t usually call fake especially when there is video evidence, but like a few others this video just strikes me as being a bit off. Maybe this kid really is an artistic genius, but I`m guessing that he probably isn`t. Or maybe I`m just too pessimistic to believe it. :)

I guess that paint might not bleed as much as a normal paint, however I still doubt that he was able to do the entire thing by hand.

"i`m curious about that "glossy paper" comment though, bjbj1991. Is that true?"

The paper used in the final scene reflected the light in the rest of the room. This means that it is coated with a plastic like substance on the surface. This type of plastic however is hydrophobic meaning it does not adhear to water based paints. Given the distenct increase in shading during the last shot reltive to the other scences I beleve his father just printed that on a printer.

Male 896
PS: The water based paint I was talking about would be water color which is definetly not what paint he was using.

"lol. there is even a shading element to it. nice.i`m curious about that "glossy paper" comment though, bjbj1991. Is that true?"

Yeah it`s true but I am confused. I don`t think that was water based paint. It seems like non-toxic pastel paint or what ever you want to call it. This Stuff

Other then that, that is amazing.

And yet you didn`t manage to notice the comment from a parent about finger painting paper Willow.

I`ve got to say it`s an overextended commercial if anything. Children develop things we think of as natural over time. For instance, object permanence isn`t an intrinsic idea, that`s why babies are often enthralled by "peekaboo". Is it possible for that child to have developed the necessary faculties to do this? Sure, but it ain`t likely.

thats defintly fake.. u can tell be the way his arm is moving in the shots of only his hand that someone is holding his arms and doing the painting while the kids holds his wrist and fingers in one position.. the kid is like a giant paint brush.. also notice those same shots are the only ones where he is actually doing the painting.. sounds like some dad trying to get "famous" on the internet by passing off his own kid as some kind of genius.. kinda sad..

Why is the paper glossy? Water based paint does not work on glossy paper because it can`t stain it.

I noticed that...

Sorry people this is most defiantly a fake, look at the shots when the child puts his hands in the paint, he puts many fingers in. The close ups only show one finger painting. Again when the child is seen in the shot painting its only the sky or filling in areas.
Clever but defiantly FAKE.

oh.. by the way... the "old" version of the site is called this: "www.turtlekid.com/TMNTViralSimple.html"

No, this has to be fake. The composition of that painting was too skilled for a child to understand. Even the most talented of toddlers could not know that the guy should be drawn in an off corner (as apposed to the middle, which is the natural tendency for kids) and have SHADING in the backround.. how could he have known? Even if he did it naturally, the shading for the backround is too complex.
Plus, turtlekid.com is very supiscious. Check it out. Look at all the clever product placements! But the biggest giveaway at all is the flash site itself.. only non-nice individuals(corporations) would make something as flashy (no pun intended)

I just don`t know. Why not set the camera up to record the whole kid painting and just speed it up that way? Why did the camera dad have to move around a lot and only capture the kids arm doing the painting?

To be honest, it strikes me as fake and that poor kid is being fooled into thinking he is a genius. Oh the repercussions!

So amazing! He`s destined for greatness. I watched with the sound off, but as for the glossy paper comment, any parent with a young child knows that if you buy fingerpaint paper at the store, it is glossy with a smooth surface that makes it easier to spread the fingerpaint around.

Maybe he painted an ordinary painting and then his dad put the awesome painting in using editing.
It could happen.

about the glossy paper and water colour paints thing. Water colour paints can stick to certain types of glossy/shiny paper. Like magazine papers. You can paint on them with watercolours. Especially if you`re just putting dabs of paint on it like the kid is.
