Where is this TV series aired? Looks interesting. I wonder if it was a real thief or if it was just an actor for the commercial/advertisement.

Amazing. If it`s true then people should do this more often. Them thieves don`t read up the internets more often than not, so it won`t even go out of date.

I doubt its real. The legal realities of essentially kindapping someone and then touring them about to humiliate them would mean they would have as much chance of going to jail if not more due to the petty nature of nicking something from the back of a lorry.

nonetheless it looks like a pretty good idea.

Oh man, I hope that`s all for real! It would certainly teach him a thing or two about unsupervised trucks. And even if it wasn`t a deterrent to crime, it could definitely help people recognise the undersirable elements within a neighbourhood.

It is real, it`s a show called SWAG in the UK was on quite a bit and it ruled. They also trapped some people in a car they tried to steal.

Unlike the US, suing people is not the nation`s favourite pastime. ;)

Actually it`s completely legal to trap the thief in the US, since you want to go down that road. It`s just illegal to purposefully injure the thief.

If they wanted to make it better they could just back right up to a police station and drop him off.
Which is also legal since citizens arrest can be exercised.

It`s not illegal if you turn them over to the cops in the US. While state laws vary, it`s legal.

*except in NC where you may only detain the person without transporting them. (Cops have to make a pick up call)

Moron. I love this site but I`m so tired of the "I`m a cop and...", "My neighbor is a...", "My sister`s best friend is..."

Bunch of d0uchebags. Do you not realize that we know you`re full of poo?

It`s not legal in any state in the U.S. to kidnap, intentionally inflict emotional distress, etc. You can hold the person for the police. In this case, in the U.S., the criminal could sue and would have great grounds to. I agree that the criminal should get what he or she gets, but it`s simply the case that they can sue, and have the captor prosecuted for kidnap and other crimes, as well.

The "Small Claims" court judge comment is moronic, as well, because subsequent action doesn`t excuse a criminal from the crime anywa

well Hired Gun, I guess it`s too bad I`m a law student, and anyone can look up a law, student or not. And I`ve never claimed to be anything different on here.

"It`s not legal in any state in the U.S. to kidnap, intentionally inflict emotional distress, etc. You can hold the person for the police. In this case, in the U.S., the criminal could sue and would have great grounds to..."

Lol you`re a dumb ass, it is completely legal to detain a criminal and in some states transport that criminal to the proper authorities. The criminal could attempt to sue but it would get thrown out.

If the best you`ve got is acting like you know what you`re talking about, when you`re actually just hypocritically BSing like you`re accusing me of, that means you`re retarded.

If you don`t like that sh*t, 1) Leave 2) Don`t do the same poo you`re speaking out against. Moron.
