I`d like one of these in my backyard. I could go and hide in it... great place to smoke weed or trip. :] I`d decorate it and stuff.
I want one!

It may be an ingenious invention to save people and also look like a fake d**k but who the f**k cares about the nazi`s anyhow? They killed too many people to give a s**t about. Yes I still have issues.... lol.

These towers were quite efective as shelters in protecting from the weaponry of WW2. They may not protect against today`s misiles and bombs, but they were not meant to.

So the fact they seem strange to us, does not in any way deduct from their effectiveness as shelters.

All Nazis are evil and Hitler is devil reborn!!!
These towers show that Germans understood the importance of airplanes and bombing very early on and made preparations for the war:
the building design was patented in 1934 and WW2 began five years later in 1939.
These Winkel Towers probably saved many lives as an efficient alternative to building bunkers. Bombing raids were the primary threat to German security, and Allies did end up doing a lot of damage using planes.
Today, there are no longer any bombing threats, so these buildings are useless, except as a museum piece.

ha really awesome! never seen them before!

I don`t think theyre affiliated with Nazism; everyone forgets or doesn`t mention that Hitler drove a Mercedes and Made the First Volkswagon himself! those towers weren`t made by the nazis unless the architect was a nazi himself.

Some of these were obviously inspired by 20th century modernist furniture designs.

"I personally think that their weird and haunted look (combined with a bizarre monumental nature) make them good, though ghastly, reminders of the WWII past."

I agree wholeheartedly; although converting them into bus-stops is still a pretty neat idea.
