So I assume all the Hollywood types will be driving these things around L.A. soon?

Wow, you know nothing about military history in any country or any war over the last 100 years..LOL. I don`t condone war, but your comment is absolutely stupid in respect to the history of transportation and inventions during past wars.

The Humvee has been replaced by the Stryker, as in, the Stryker now largely does what the Humvee was used for. So, whatever.

Are people really that scared of terrorism?

The Humvee hasn`t been replaced. Neither has the striker. The military keeps different vehicles for different things. The Grizzly, it said, had a tendency to implode, which makes me believe that it won`t be replacing anything any time soon.

Wasn`t the Humvee already replaced by the Stryker, for all intents and purposes?

Neat! I`d love to drive that thing around I`d always have the right-of-way. And hollywood hummers have nothing on a surplus Marine Humvee

Well, the Humvee wasn`t an APC. This is an APC.
Plus, the Humvee needs to be phased out eventually.. whenever it is, and whatever its replacement might be.

And yes, they probably have a contract. the US Military buys contracts for most things before production I`d assume... and it said production began last month.

BUT WHY REPLACE THE STRYKER with the Grizzly??
Everyone was getting all hyped up about the Stryker... I`ve seen countless shows about it on the Military Channel, and now their buying different APCs?

I doubt this will replace the Humvee. This is strictly an APC, not a small, quick mode of troop transport like the Humvee.

Second, I don`t think the US military even has a contract to purchase these things yet.

Umm, from what I read its not for public purchase, its a strict military vehicle.

This thing is a true blue armored personnel carrier, the Hummer on the other hand wasn`t completely one, it never really lived up to APC status. Thats why Hummer`s made the transition to a vehicle for the public. This thing won`t.
